- In this video I install most of the entire bottom section of the 1970 Cuda. I start by showing you my process of sanding down the parts, marking my locations for the holes needed, then drilling the holes and prepping for weld through primer. This video then takes you through our process of assembling a project of this magnitude, starting off with a full Dynacore rear clip section. Then we work our way on to the front frame sections with the whole inner structure welded on them followed by the torsion support cross member. Once all the fame pieces are welded in I install both the full floor pan along with the toe pans in the rear and the firewall. In this video I also install side cowl pieces and A pillars before doing the final welding. Once all the welding is complete I then DA sand most of the parts before coating them with two coats of epoxy primer. The video is closed out with some final thoughts and where we plan on going from here with this project car.

carthage-class...
The attention to detail is unbelievable. These frames probably drive way better compared to factory. Less, flex, rattles ,creeks, etc... Really enjoyed watching
Thank you very much
Great video Rick. Im also killing time at the airport learning how you do stuff. I think a year of watching these will certainly make your questions easier to understand when we start on my car. Thanks.
Great to hear I am excited to work on your Nova.
Just got through all that on a 71 Cuda, it was a can of worms. No coatings. Got a 69 GTO, needs a literal whole new body.
You have one of the best channels, to many of these TH-cam guys don’t brace or jig.
Thank you very much!
Good kids. The craftsmanship I watched is incredible. I just did the entire floor, rockers and trunk on my ‘57 Mopar. After watching you I rate my work as 1-2 and yours at 10.
Thank you very much for the kind words and don't be too hard on yourself. I have had many jobs that were far from perfect and learned over time and honestly still learning every day. Stick with it the next one you do if you decide will come out a lot better.
I absolutely love your videos! Thank you for sharing them with us!
You are welcome, thanks a lot for watching.
Hi from North Yorkshire UK.
Thanks for creating this video, its a great project i already can't wait for the next one.
Best wishes
You're welcome, thanks for watching along.
I enjoy great educational video’s like this
Thank you very much
Great job ... excellent content....thanks for the tips....🔧🔧👍
You're welcome glad you enjoyed it!
Great video!!!
Thanks!
Brilliant video as always, keep up the great work.
Thank you and will do.
Thanks for the vid. You got me through a long wait at an airport. I noticed the old pickup in the background... a tutorial on that thing would be a fun change of pace! Cheers.
You are welcome and glad it worked out while you were waiting. The truck in the background I was thinking about doing some filming on it but then changed my mind. It has a lot of work that isn't mine and its a lot of small detailed patching. Usually this kind of work doesn't film well for youtube for me. I am posing updates on that build on Facebook if you follow us on there. If not I have had a few pickup trucks in the shop just in the past two- 3 months if I get the "right" one in I will put it on the channel.
Another great video! Very informative!
Thank you!
Great video and awesome work as always man! Love it.
Thank you!
Man you are thorough. Exactly what I would want in a restoration.
Thank you, I really appreciate that.
I love it after the primer goes on. That means you’re done messing with it. Onward!
I feel the same way. Its so satisfying to see it all one color.
Very Nice
Thanks
Your extra care welding has got to make a solid ride and quiet also.
Thank you yes I think it should have multiple benefits
Amazing.....
Thank you!
Great job Rick. Amazing craftsmanship.
Thank you very much!
Nice work young man. I would love to see you build yourself a spraybooth. Cheers William
Thank you very much.....I will say I currently have a spray booth, just haven't set it up yet in the new shop but moving towards that direction for obvious reasons
@@carthageclassiccars Eagerly awaiting for that day to come, myself.
Nice work looks really nice
I agree.
Thank you very much!
Hi Rick
Thanks for joining the premier and commenting Michael!
Brave working without gloves and sharp edges of sheet metal.
You are right I get bit every now and then but haven't learned my lesson yet.
You can tig weld spot welds you want have any splatter or over build up of weld
I would probably pass on that, usually with the dirty metal or if there is weld through primer that will jump up on the tungsten or the amount of gas and time it would take vs the MIG for me it would not be cost effective. I have finished a floor or two then I have ran out of MIG gas before just to get a stopping point and its a pain to TIG the floors.
Where can I buy the Dynacorn rear floor pan with the frame rails pre-assembled? Looked at their website and looks like they only sell to vendors?
Great videos,very professional job.
Thank you very much. You can google the part you are looking for and a bunch of different vendors will be listed. For instance Raybuck Auto body parts is one, classic industries and speedway motors all sell dynacorn body parts.
Great video and content as always. Can you source cars and rebuild? If customer wants any 1970-1974 Cuda for example.
Thank you very much. I do not have any time to find cars honestly, but I do fix the ones other people make bad choices on buying. lol All seriousness if you were intersted in buying one and wanted me to fix it feel free to get in contact with me and I can tell you what I would recommend if I was building it and what I think should be wi8th the car and what you shouldn't care about.
@@carthageclassiccars Great thanks. I’m searching. I’ll email you and get your recommendations.
what is the make and model of the spot welder at 27:53? Love your videos!!!
Thank you. The welder is an Pro Spot PR-2000 spot welder. I actually does so much more then just the spot welding.
