  • ---------------------------------------------------------
    Freeze fresh APPLES
    ---------------------------------------------------------
Peel and chop/slice apples to be frozen
Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to a gallon of water OR
for fewer apples, add 1½ teaspoons of lemon juice to 2 quarts of water
Stir the water to distribute the lemon juice.
Place the chopped/sliced apples in the lemon water and stir; NO NEED to soak.*
Onto a parchment-lined baking sheet distribute the apples in a even layer.
Freeze overnight or for at least 4-5 hours.
Then put the apples in a plastic freezer bag to store in the freezer.
You are done. Frozen apples for use one chunk or slice at a time.
    * I soaked the whole apple in the video before we filmed it so the apple WOULD NOT BE oxidized and brown. But it is NOT NECESSARY to soak the apples. Just stir and distribute the lemon juice water over all the apples to be frozen.

My objective for this channel is to share with others what I have learned over the last 30+ years about living and eating healthier. I share my knowledge with my small circle of friends all the time. I am not a doctor, nor do I hold any type of medical degree, but I believe that my tried experiences may help someone else.
For over 30 years I have used every diet imaginable to lose weight, but I confess that I am now at home using the vegan lifestyle. I want to share what I have learned about eating and enjoying food. And, since I am still learning how to be more consistent with this lifestyle, I have decided to eat more healthily, realizing the weight will come off eventually. Though I have not reached my goal weight, I know that sharing with other people in front of a camera with help me to stay on course.
I have, with the help of my husband of 37 years, raised 3 grown children. I will also share some cooking shortcuts as well as some natural formulas I have used and still use for everyday problems.

Naomi, Jesus is your (and mine) Lord and Saviour now. As a new Christian, just learn to talk to Him and have fellowship with Him, like you would a friend you like being with. The Lord just want to have a relationship with each of His children. It is such a peaceful thing to talk with Him about everything. Give Him your time each day thanking Him for who He is and what He's going to do... He's the one with the plan for your life so let Him lead you. I hope my words help you. 🍎

Oh Berta, I have frozen things for years but I have never thought about freezing apples! 🤷🏽‍♀️ Well come fall when Apple season is here guess what I’m going to do LOL :-) yes you guessed I am freezing apples.
I wanted to let you know that I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos over the last few months but in the last couple of months I have faced an issue with my health. That is why I have been so quiet but I have not missed any of your videos and I have enjoyed them all. I do feel as though I’m coming to the end of this and I am coming out victoriously. I just wanted to let you that, because I have been so quiet 🤫 much love 💕 my friend

Please know that I don't just say this but I mean it and will do it...I will be praying for your recovery and that your body will perform the way God, our Healer, made it to function. Thanks so much for letting me know because I have missed you. 🥰 🙏🏾

I have been freezing things for several years now, but need to start doing 2 things. 1. use the lemon juice (my fruit is brown in the freezer, tastes ok, but doesn't look the best) and 2. freeze individually. I have bags of hard clumped brown fruit, lol! Great video :)

Just came back here (a year later). I’m in Florida & have been self isolating with my husband & dog for over a year now. Have used my frozen apples 🍎 religiously all this time, honey. Incredible video & wanted to thank you. I use them in my smoothies, juices with greens 🥬 and fruits and now making little dog treats with them ! Dog treats? Yeah…2-Step Doggie Icecream
    You’ll need:
    - 1 8oz can of organic sweet potato
(Make sure the ONLY ingredient is pure sweet potato, with no sugar, salt, or additives)
    - ½ a ripe banana (medium-sized)
    - ½ cup filtered water
    - 1 freezer-safe container (12oz or larger)
    - Fresh blueberries (optional)
    - A blender
    How to make it:
Step 1: Add your canned sweet potato and ½ a ripe banana to the blender.
Pour ½ cup filtered water over the top and then blend the mixture until it’s smooth.
Step 2: Pour the mix into your freezer-safe container and let it freeze for 4 hours (or until the mixture is solid.)
Then, dish up your dog’s recommended serving!
NOTE: This is a sweet and decadent treat. So be sure to limit your dog’s portion.
Here are the serving sizes I recommend based on your dog’s weight:
    24lbs or less: 2 tablespoons
    25 - 44lbs: 3 tablespoons
    45 - 64lbs: ¼ cup
    65lbs and up: ⅓ cup
And don’t forget to sprinkle a couple of fresh blueberries over their serving for a special topping, if you like :)
So that’s all there is to it!
The sweet potatoes and bananas contain fiber and healthy nutrients like vitamin B12 and potassium…
So this doggie dessert can help support your dog’s smooth digestion and balanced, playful energy.
Of course, bananas naturally contain sugar, so definitely stick to your dog’s serving size…
And only give this to your pup every once in a while (that way, your dog can stay trim at their healthy weight.)
You can keep this treat in the freezer for up to a month, so it’s the perfect thing to save for special occasions…
I also add some green organic powder supplement . Just a teensy bit.
So thank you again. First time I made this our golden retriever ate like I’d been starving her all her life…and she got an upset stomach. I cut her treats to once in awhile and she’s back to normal but still LOVES these things. I’m using a small flexable mold to keep them bite sized.

      @bertajay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Wow, Ziggy3339, that sounds good enough for me to eat. Your story is amazing and I can tell you love your dog. If you make any of the other recipes on my channel where I use xylitol, you use another sweetener because xylitol can cause great harm to dogs. 😦 🐕

Once frozen, if you keep them sealed in a bag and drop them on the floor a couple of times they separate. Lol I learned that from freezing them wet and then needing them separated so I banged them a couple times and voila it worked like a charm.

You are so beautiful Berta. I never knew I could freeze apples (I always buy organic, the amount of pesticides on an apple would astonish most people). I always thought if you froze them it would ruin the texture and be mushy. Pies or cakes or muffins, I can make these anytime now. I also will use them in smoothies. I will subscribe to learn more from you :)

I didn't know how to cook and here's the truth about how I learned: I bought the same cookbook she had. I just started cooking things from that cookbook changing what I didn't like and adding what I did like. Then I bought another cookbook, and another and another....and so the story goes. Then, I just started reading whatever I could about preparing foods and the rest is history. I really enjoy cooking. I guess you can tell. Thanks for your question, Judy. 🥰
