this is exactly what makes ytube a great place for information this video saved me the money for a new weed eater that i was about to buy when all i needed to do was order a new carb after watching this video keep up the good work thanks for posting
Does yours vibrate the H and L screws loose on the carburetor how mine does so I can't use the weed eater because it just won't keep the settings I gave up on messing with mine and the br420 backpack blower they both have the same problem and will not stay set the engines are still good though
@@Mike-su8si So far so good on the screws staying put. If they so, I might try a little teflon plumbers tape on the threads to tighten them up a little.
@@garyhoward3123 I was gonna try that out instead of buying a different brand carburetor for it because the others look just the same as that carburetor the original high and low screws tip ends are more cone shaped than those replacement carburetors the replacements still do work though just the screws keep slipping out of adjustment
"...missing the ball in the check valve" was exactly what I needed to see and hear! Thank you! Inside the pump bulb, I found the check valve, the spring, a thin rubber disk the same diameter as the valve, but no ball...how did this come apart? No matter; I have ordered the replacement; thank you for the link to that as well. Great video and assistance.
Update: I just put this cheap carb onto my trimmer. AFTER 2 pulls!!! It started right up. I was like WOW. NO adjustments. On cold start I closed the choke. Then when it tried to start I open the choke. I was about to throw this thing in the garbage.
my fs45 is 19 years old, used about 10 years and sitting in garage unused for 9....bulb is cracked open, stihl dealer wanted $90 to replace carb, think I paid 140-150 for it new so wasnt worth it....I should have checked amazon for a replacement and will do so and fix it, sell it
do you have a video how to loose the clutch from my trimmer..it's a Stihl FS45,it's run very badly, only for a few seconds...had Ewen the carburettor loose..
Those off brand carburetors do work except the H and L screws on them vibrate loose when you give it throttle so I'm still unable to use my fs45 because of that little problem I can't put glue on it cause then wouldn't be able to adjust those screws They need something like a lock on the screws to keep them from vibrating loose and out of adjustment I use my american made weed eaters for now cheap brand as you guys say they're not China made
Where do we get the original oem carburetor for the stihl fs45 or for a br420 backpack blower if they have a webpage does stihl sale those orginal parts
So my stihl fs45 weed eater and the br420 blower been sitting for a year now because both have the same problem with the H and L screws vibrating loose on the carburetor they wont hold the settings once you set it start it up give it throttle if you can before they vibrate loose they are brand new carburetors one is the same carburetor as yours
How i done reset this bullshit a ton of times I've never had this many problems with the original carburetor and its been reset every year The new one doesn't wanna set. The new one won't hold the settings they vibrate loose out of adjustment
Thanks to you I just bought this same kit and am 100% impressed with it. Just curious, have you done a follow up with the customer and found if it’s still going? The extras kind of imply that it might go a couple seasons. Heck for the price even one season would make me happy
Only problem with that type of carburetor is the H and L screw gets loose when its running and you give it throttle they'll turn and get loose and out of adjustment I watched mine do it so it's not doing me any good

Just grabbed one for my FS55R. That thing has given my hell for 3 years. I will give it a shot. Great addition seeing’s you adjust the idle.
It is now $13.88.I just ordered one. Thanks for the video and link!
Having the same issue with my FS45. Going to order parts and get it going. Thanks for the good information.

Just bought the same carburetor for my fs 45, gonna replace it tomorrow
Are the H and L screws staying in place not vibrating loose out of adjustment
You make a Great Stihl model. They should pay you like they do Vanna White!! Great video!!

Another Great Power Plant Man video!

I ordered that kit, supposed to be here by Thursday. The price was $17.88. I have the same thing that the check ball is missing.

Do they have a website I can order the same original carburetor not a off brand carburetor because the high and low screws vibrate loose
This was so helpful thanks
Solid vid, thank you sir
do you have a video how to loose the clutch from my trimmer..it's a Stihl FS45,it's run very badly, only for a few seconds...had Ewen the carburettor loose..
Does anyone know if replacing the carburetor will fix an FS45 that won't start?

Great video.
Installed mine it’ll start then die tried adjusting h l and idle won’t change anything any advise ?
Thanks mate... love it.
As stihl carbie part a bit pricey...

did you make any adjustment to the carb screws?
Liquid Thread Lock I used for my R/C electric and gas cars as a kid. Worked great. Have you tried this or have you resolved it by other means?
i used the same kit that lasted 2 years now the adjustments are all out of wack and wont stick.
Did you just use water to pressure wash it? I never knew they could be cleaned with water pressure, and all this time i been scraping and wiping
Your idling problem is not the idle adjustment it was the low speed adjustment top right hand side
How i done reset this bullshit a ton of times I've never had this many problems with the original carburetor and its been reset every year
The new one doesn't wanna set.
The new one won't hold the settings they vibrate loose out of adjustment
Good video

3:16 the part fell out. How does that reattach?
I have the same question. I hate it when they don’t do whole video! He gets a “dislike” for not answering your questions.
First thing to do is to NOT clean it with a pressure washer
I was kinda worried seeing that. I would never do that.
Wasn't helpful. On changing the gaskets. Anyone can put a carb on but can you replace the gaskets? Thanks for what you did.
Pressure washing a strimmer 😂😂😂😂
