Welcome to our DJI Phantom 3 SE range test! Check the video for exact details about the control distance achievement.
The DJI Phantom 3 SE is an amazing drone at a delightful price. It combines a stunning 4K action camera among with many other features which are included with the Phantom 3Pro.
The major difference between both is the FPV communications protocol. While the Pro-version utilizes Lightbridge, the 3 SE variant uses boosted WiFi, just like the the DJI Spark and the DJI Mavic Air.
If you need to switch it to FCC mode, here is a short tutorial:
1 - Uninstal Dji Go app from your mobile, also delete DJI folder and the two hidden folders .HereMaps and AMAP
2 - Install Fake Gps, launch and point it to some place in the USA (you need internet connection to see the map) NOTE: Be sure tu only use gps for positioning services!
3 - Install Dji go 3.1.23 or any recent version you want that actually switches from fcc to ce. Launch it and log in then exit app and shut internet connection, better delete any wifi nearby. Get the files here: www.dropbox.co...
4 - Turn receiver on and connect mobile and receiver.
5 - Turn on aircraft and let it bind to receiver
6 - Launch Dji go and enter camera view, wait for the wlan window to show and click OK. Edit** Once the remote restarts gon in the frequency page and check you only have 11 channels under the 2.4ghz option so you are sure you entered fcc mode **
7 - Unistall dji go and delete all the folders as in point 1
8 - Install dji go app 3.1.8 (here is a link Free Download APK File of the DJI GO v3.1.8 for Android - APK4Fun )
9 - launch dji go and log in

My phantom 3 SE goes for 600 meters only - then weak transmission signal- then RTH. I'm from Philippines
How many 2.4ghx channels do you see in the app? 11 or 13?
I don't know what'd I'd do if it weren't for the FCC hacks! 😅
Also, is it just me, or have you gotten a ton of subscribers recently?
Hey man! Yeah, that mode saves the day. And it is quite unpleasant to have that much of restrictions in Europe. Next thing I will have to look at are the wifi routers at home :D
As for the subscribers - I believe the Amazfit video did the trick. The mania around it is over now, but I believe it managed to classify as "trendy" and got around 100k views within a week. Something similar to your AirPods video.

I know how you feel! Getting a sudden surge in views and subscribers is pretty incredible; the only downside is getting used to it, and then seeing things slow down again... haha
yup :-) That was expected and it already a kind of dropped to the regular levels. But once you know the feeling you want it again! :D

Thanks for the reply, Dji Mavic or Dji Soark are too expensive. However I have checked the user manual and the follow me and way point functions on the Phantom 3 If they are available, check also you. Are you satisfied with the purchase and the drone videos?
The drone was given to me for a test by a friend. But I like the video quality a lot! If you are looking for good price/quality ratio, check also the Mi Drone 4K.

Hi Marcello, there is no audio recording. No waypoints and no follow me, I am afraid. If you are looking for smarter functions - think about the DJI Spark or Mavic Air/pro
Hey my guy I bought one of these and mine only goes about 150 meters then loses connection do you know how to fix it???

Looks like I should no longer to DJI range tests in that area - it is urban area and there seem to be quite many negative transmissions. And I recently figured out that some of the trees branches are also interrupting the signal. So yeah - you can go far-far away. I have seen some people going as far as 4 kilometers. Guess the real limit will be the battery :D

Hi, i bought DJI Phantom 3 SE some time ago (1 year) and since then i have repeatedly encountered a problem with my max. fly distance... In 90% of my flights my drone lost conection about 500m away...
Even if it is merged and calm... Any help? I am clueless...
Hi Marek - you will have to find a way to switch it in FCC mode; Unfortunately due to the CE regulations, CE mode has quite weak coverage.

I download the app but there are so much disconction when i fly with FCC and 3.1.8? Can i use a new version like 3.1.23? Or than i can not fly with FCC?
You can try that, sure. Perhaps it will promot you for chabging the wifi settings when starting - just choose "cancel".
Usually these disconnections are not caused by the app itself though...
So i fly with 3.1.8 and the range is good but sometimes the app disconact and 1 second later it is conact after that all is good but thats happends often. I have android 6.0.1 is it not good or is the version of my handy good . What can i do?
Trying a newer version of the app sounds like a good idea then.
