This is only flight #4 for my Phantom 3 Pro, she's still new, so I'm still testing features, etc. This was meant to be a maximum range test, but at over 7,000ft. from home, I brought her back because I was totally satisfied with those results. The Phantom 3 Pro has been nothing but super awesome, right from the box to the very first flight. Each flight has been a new experience for me and she has yet to disappoint me. I'll be doing at least one more range test on it soon, with the ARGTek Range Extender modification. Don't miss it!

Ok guys, in this video I was going to let her "run loose" but, keep in mind, she's still a baby! This is olny my FLIGHT TEST #4, where I test the stock range. I wanted to get a stock range test done before I do the ARGTek Range Mod. The mod worked very well on my Standard, so when ARGTek asked me if I would test the verion of the mod for the Pro, I said sure! That should be here any day now!!! DJ SOUL FORCE

the wind taked my phantom3standard before few days . i am in a bad mood since that day .. i am looking to buy a p3pro .. i called dji and they dont answer i called thim many time .. and i talked with the seller he told me we cant do anything it is god act .. so i am so upset and i dont know what to say
+Omar Zaki channel I use a computer App called UAVforecast (www.UAVForecast.com) it let's me know if it's safe to fly or not. UAVforecast will give you weather conditions, satellite lock data, wind speed & wind direction and the KP index (solar interference data) and it was made for model aircraft flyers! I don't usually fly my Phantoms in winds above 12 - 15 mph just to be safe. Good luck with your P3 Pro! DJ Soul Force

Wow ! That Phantom camera is something else, and the range is incredible. It shoots video that's crisp and stable with Nice vivid greens and blues. I'm in the Pacific Northwest, and am thinking the P3P or P3A would be a great choice for here with all our forests, mountains, and water. Would the Advanced work just as well for me if all I need is 1080p ?

Also just had a hell of a time downloading the latest update to the DJI GO APP to My DJI Standard. The Quad squealed at me for about 30 minutes while the download was in progress. Made my poor dog a nervous wreck. Didn't do much for my nerves either. Seems like it finally worked though.
+Greg I went through a similiar situation yesterday with my Standard. After about 20mins. of updating, it said update completed successfully, restart the quad. After I restarted, it said update required and I had to go over it again. Finally all was good after the second time, but that took almost all of the battery power!!! +Robert Glosson No, I don't have any filters on my camera. However, this was recorded around 12 noon, sun was straight up and the lighting was perfect! (I've got to start getting up earlier in the morning to fly! Lol) As a matter of fact, I am researching & shopping for a tablet as we speak (something that will screen record). Yesterday I did the flight towards that lake you saw and went beyond it towards a river I found on the map. Didn't quite make it to the river but I took her out over 9,000ft. stocked. In this video, I'm using all default settings, shooting 1080P @60fps! I live in the Charleston, SC area (near the coast), thus, no mountains... not even a little hill, LoL!!! Thanks for watching.
I enjoy your video, we are like lil boys with our toys. I only have 14 flights under my belt with the phantom 3P. My first drone was the size of my hand and no gps and if you release the stick it dropped like a rock, I had to tie fishing line on it so it wouldn't take off. lil by lil I take the P3P out further , I would hate it if it just take off and go puff.

Good flight of over 7000 ft, but I'm seeing TH-cam vids with guys going out more than twice as far. Terrain has a lot to do with it, if you have a lot of high trees or buildings, but didn't look like that would be a problem in the direction you were flying. You need to ditch that cell phone and put a NVidia Shield K1 Tablet on there, with a sunshade. Everything is nice and BIG on the bigger screen, and you can see stuff, and read all the telemetry without having to change your glasses every 5 minutes ;-) Pretty slick to program one of your back buttons to direct the gimbal down .. might have to do that myself. Looks like we might actually get some flying weather starting this coming Wed. Sort of anxious to get out and get in some stick time, as I've been grounded in the house for about a week .. you know how that goes! Saw a couple vids with guys with P3A & P3P using sort of a double parabolic reflector behind the twin antennas ... they say that works well too. I think I've only had my P3A out 2500-3000 feet so far, but we haven't had good weather for flying. Looking forward to your next. Gonna check out a vid in my "recommended" list that shows a P3 doing 19,937 feet (3.77 miles) .. should be interesting. Cheers DJ!

I'm doing that 200 mW booster for the XK also, waiting on the New Battery, I opted for a 3s LiFe instead of the LiPo, I think it's better suited for the XK as the LiFe is 9.9 volt versus the 11.1 volt LiPo, hoping to extend My Range out about 4 miles, perfect for where I live. I was amazed how good the range on that Phantom Stock Transmitter is, that's awesome! Great Video, better be careful though, FAA might not approve of Your out of LOS in that Area, I hate to see You get Hammered with some stupid Fines... GL and Happy Flying! :)

Nice video! You're very entertaining. My record is 17,300 feet. I stopped and turned around at this point (5 kilometres), because I was afraid for my battery running out. I'm flying a P3P like yours and I added copper windsurfer antenna boosters that I bought for $10. You also will get more range by pointing your antennas vertical as it shows in the manual. LOL... Dude, even I got out to 4000 meters (13,100 feet) and said, that's far enough! When the stock range of these quads in North America is 5000 meters (Over 3 miles!) What more would anyone ever need. For you, this flight you did was already MORE than enough LOL. It is not overly comfortable flying a quad that is soooooo far away from you. Like you said in your video, you are EXPLORING at that point. I find with my P3A that is exactly what I do and I love doing it. Just sending it out exploring an area that I have plotted out before hand using Google maps. I will always familiarize myself with my flight area prior to the actual flight. Sort of flight planning you could say. As far as the max distance one can fly these quads, the limiting factor will always come down to line of sight, then battery life. In your case, where you have been flying, it is line of sight and interference from things around you and your quad.

+alfred Ellis LMFAO, are you serious? Dude, you've had the P3 Standard for about, what, 3 days now??? What happened, did you crash it already, Lol??? On the serious side, the Phantom 4's have only been out about a month now, you may want to do some more intense research before making any hasty decisions. I've seen a couple of negative reports (which is typical, and a couple ain't bad) but moreover, most reports to this day are saying that there's not much difference between the P3 Professional & the Phantom 4. The P4, no doubt is a nice bird, some are saying the P3 Pro is a much better buy, especially with the price drops. I'm sure you'll make your own conclusion and decide what's right for you. Welcome to the Phantom family and your new addiction (I mean hobby! Hehehe) and good luck brother-in-law. Make sure you hit that subscribe button and stay tuned. +Bryan Weber No, it cannot! The Phantom 3's come with a state of the art, 3 axis gimbal and camera already built in. To get video like this from the x380, you'll have to do a whole lot more work on it!!! Good question, thanks. DJ SOUL FORCE

nice that was 2, 145 meters just a little bit further than my longest flight with the x380 soon I'm going to pass 3000 meters with it, I'm hoping that arguteck range extender gets me out past 2000 meters with my phantom 3 standard I have seen others using it get almost 3000 meters.

Hey, in theroy, the DVD's may work, I've heard of a guy getting 5 miles with a homemade windsurfer (cardboard & kitchen foil) and other's said it worked! +Jason Scarboro That ARGTek Range Extender works pretty good on the Standard, I just did a range test on it the same day as this. That video is also on my channel. If I had the ARGTek mod a few months back, I probably wouldn't have bought the Pro!!! DJ SOUL FORCE
+DJ SOUL FORCE ARGtek is great I've got the mod on my standard. I've haven't officially tested it yet but in Tahoe I did get it out over the lake just over a mile like 5500ft. Mostly the reason I want to upgrade is for the Glonass, light bridge and better camera.

I've been avoiding any phantom 3 videos like the plague lol If I don't I'm going to definitely buy one which would not be a bad thing but I better get some time with my x380 first and who knows maybe it will drop some more. The standard is already less than what I have invested in the X380.
+Ronnie Boardman You're gonna want the Advanced or Pro, trust me Ronnie!!! I just came in from a flight test with the x380. The x380's stock range beats the P3 Standard by a long shot (without any mods). But of course, the x380 doesn't have all the extra bells & whistles that the Standard does, but the Standard doesn't have the long range that the x380 has! (...decisions, decisions!!! Lol) DJ SOUL FORCE
Yeah the x380 is fine for now , when I get a little bored with it I'll start looking at phantoms. Right now I'm not big on flying long distance but that could change lol.

Hey Brother, been watching all your videos over the past couple weeks and love your interest and enthusiasm. Based upon the success you had with ARGTek's range extenders on the P3 Standard I ordered the P3 Pro upgrade. After doing a controlled range test with the stock antennaes on Monday I installed the new antennae mod on Tuesday and did two controlled range tests today.
Verdict: Stock Antennae Distance was 2.25 miles before losing signal completely. On both of the test runs with the mod I reached only 1.95 miles.
I looked for the follow up video you mentioned would be coming soon but realized that there actually isn't one in your portfolio, and I'm wondering if that's because you experienced similar results. Any thoughts on this? Appreciate your experience and input.
I also have the ARGTek range booster on my P3 Pro, but after I installed it, ARGTek said they didn't need any more videos on the P3 Pro since they had not received any complaints about that kit. I've never been able to measure "max" distance with the booster on my Pro because the battery always runs low before I lose signal. Max so far, about 11,000ft. Did you do add the 32 channel configuration file that allows you to select more channels for control signal??? My final thoughts are - the Phantom 3 Pro doesn't need any range mods, your battery can't fly much further! Good luck, thanks for watching. DJ Soul Force

Hello DJ. Soul Force! I love your reviews, flights, tests, and all your videos. I noticed that you are a huge fan of flying and shooting at high noon because there's no shadows. I like bright sunny days as well but may I kindly suggest that you try investing in a few lens filters? I noticed that sometimes your videos are a bit overexposed. These ND filters would make a world of difference and give you better contrast and just make everything pop and look much better. I bought these on Amazon and they're great!

Also one more tip, if you haven't tried yet maybe see how you like the outdoor lighting during what photographers call "the golden hour" which is a short window (30 minutes before & after sunrise and/or sunset). i don't get why my distances are so short
What kind of distance are you getting? You may need to go into your settings and look for the RF (radio frequency) settings. Check to see if it's set to "auto" or are you using a fixed channel. The auto setting is best, it acts as a scanner and looks for the strongest channels in your area and automatically switches as you fly further out. Good luck bro, thanks for watching!!!

Thanks for sharing, I left comments on your channel. Your video looks pretty cool, but it also looks like you capture the video from your mobile device and not the SD card from the Phantom's camera. The video only played back in 240P, should of been in 1080P or higher. Don't forget, if you hit the red record button on your screen, the Phantom will record onboard. The video on the drone's SD card will have a much better quality than the video recorded on your phone or tablet. Holla back if you need any help with recording. U called money on the video, it was from my ipad and not the SD card ooowe lol I know now what must be done and I was wondering why it seemed so choppy and stuttering. I guess by now you have checked out the videos stored on your SD card... looks much better huh??? I will usually download my videos from the SD card after each flight and save them on my computer. That way, the next flight comes around, I won't have to worry about the SD card getting full in the middle of recording. Careful not to erase the firmware program that's also on that SD card. DJ, I just tested my P3A and went 13,284 feet. repeated the test as soon as I got it back home and put a fresh battery in. Honestly I had to do it twice because I forgot to record most of the 1st flight. +James Ingram The same thing just happened to me on another test flight. At around 10,120ft. because of battery life for the return journey, she turned herself around and came home. That’s only 1.3 miles. DJI claims it’s supposed to get a range of over 3.1 miles. That’s not good at all.
