    When I was a kid my parents took me to a Greyhound bus station to pick up a relative. While there I was lured into a carpeted game room with the sounds of bells and flippers. I had never seen anything so beautiful as the chrome ball bouncing around the flashing lights and bright colored backgrounds. Thank you for making this video.

    Good choices, Medieval Madness is a fantastic machine. I remember when Gorgar was introduced in the arcade with that voice - good machine too. New Orleans had a 'test arcade' for some of the manufacturers (I think Williams for sure) in Lake Forest Plaza mall in the 1970s so I got to play some machines early that you didn't really see in other places.

    If you are into pinball, I highly recommend trying to find a place to play some of the new Stern tables, including Ghostbusters, Game of Thrones, etc. It is really impressive to see what all can be done with a pinball machine in this era and beyond that, they are a ton of fun to play.

    • @Milnoc
      @Milnoc ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're probably a lot easier to program as well. The manufacturers very likely use a pinball development environment to set up the cabinet and the mechanics, resulting in a script that can be executed from a common application running on a special multi-IO computer installed inside the cabinet.

    • @dacypher22
      @dacypher22 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Milnoc That is a good point. I can only figure if the older tables had a computer in them at all, they were hardware programmed.Probably tables like the 90's classic Adams Family had computers in it, but nothing like what they could have today

    • @Milnoc
      @Milnoc ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dacypher22 I automate truck scales for a living (lots of sensors and lights), so it's very easy for me to visualise how the entire pinball operating system would work.

    OK, so I don't normally criticize top 10's, but I can't bite my tongue for this one. Do you even play pinball, or did you base this off the first season of The Pinball Arcade??
    Let's break this down:
    1) Pinbot? No. Not a top 10, not even a top 100, not even the best game of the Pinbot series.
    2) Ripley's Believe it or Not. This is where you lost all credibility. Not only is this game mediocre, it's one of the most forgettable modern machines out there. AC/DC, Simpsons Pinball Party, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Metallica, AC/DC... these are the games that Stern is known for. This is simply laughable.
    3) Addams Family is good. It's better than #8
    4) Revenge from Mars is fun. I own one, and I love it. Is it a top 10? No. Is it better than Attack from Mars? No. No. No.
    5) Black Hole... OK, now I know you're basing this off your iPad experiences. I'm now a little embarrassed for you.
    6) Indiana Jones, Twilight Zone, and Star Trek: The Next Generation as honorable mentions? You dishonor yourselves.
    Only your choice of Medieval Madness as #1 is remotely in line with the pinball community. Seriously, check Pinside or the Internet Pinball Database. Those top 100's are carefully curated, and are the result of years of community ratings and oversight.
    This list is terrible. Just terrible.

      A buddy of mine got a run down dusty " twilight zone " really really cheap, spent weeks of fixing it and now have it 100% functional in his living room. I am quite envious.
      By the rarity and polularity, it is one of the most valued old pinballs right now...

      I have number 5 (Black Knight) in my basement and fully functional. I also have Lost World down there, but that is in a slightly less than 100% condition. Spent hours everyday down there playing them both when I was a lot younger.

    My first pinball love was Space Shuttle. My best friend and I plunked down an endless stream of quarters into that one as I learned how to play.

    I feel lucky to have grown up playing Medeival Madness. It was the only table in a small arcade at this campground I've been going to since I was a kid. It's my favorite table. I will one day own one (or at least a remake)
