I've tried to explain to my non-pinhead friends why I love Godzilla so much and it's hard to articulate it. From now on, I'll just show them this video because you guys captured and articulated it perfectly. Great job.
Great list, guys! We always based a game by the magazine replay and how many weeks it took a game to pay for itself. Twilight Zone, Addams Family, Medieval, Attack from Mars. All excellent games, but the machine that paid for itself...that's double what it cost...STNG. Yep, 8.5 weeks and it had doubled what we paid for it. I do agree with many of the picks on the list, but Twilight Zone definitely should have been on here IMHO, but we all have different tastes. Thank you for this video! I've never considered pinball as a hobby until I watched this video, then spent the weekend tracking down some of these machines around my area. I think I'm hooked now..
A case for Adams Family. There’s a reason Adams Family was one of the most produced pins, it’s fun for everyone who plays! Still one of the best producers in an arcade after decades. It should be on the top 10 if for no other reason than non-pin ballers know it/remember it as a favorite. If it could be reproduced, it would outsell all other reproductions. On location still gets more than a thousand plays a month at a quarter a play.
Couldn't agree more. The Thing....the Magnet under the board...the "It's SHOWTIME" on the multiball. This is and will always be my #1 on the greatest machines of all time. I'm not sure how ToM finished ahead of it...as a runner up...I love that game as well...but...Addams Family is the GOAT.
I’m glad someone noticed this omission. There would arguably be no pinball machines out there if it wasn’t for TAF. It introduced a generation to pinball. All current machines are sitting on the shoulders of this giant
I haven’t read the comments, but how in the hell does Iron Maiden not make the list? I was never an Iron Maiden fan, but I absolutely love this pin. It’s all subjective and I buy/play what I like and IM will never leave my collection. Just my $.02 worth.
Time Machine, The Getaway, T2, Elvis, Addams Family, Twilight Zone, Theatre of Magic, Jurassic Park, Lethal Weapon 3, some of my favourite pinball games. Also A Nightmare on Elm Street
My top 10 constantly changes but the one thing that never changes for me is that ...There needs to be more pins with Dirty Donny art packages! It's been too dang long!
I agree with the list for the most part. Hard not to mention Elvira. Code and theme are 10 out of 10, and the playfield layout rewards skilled players, but doesn't leave out the beginners.
All I know is Funhouse and Terminator2 was the only pinballs I played and in my humble opinion those should be at least in a top 20 or top 15 of all times
It’s hard to come up with a Top 10, but for me this list seemed a little skewed towards newer games, and for me they tend to be too complex. Attack From Mars and Medieval Madness are the perfect games for me, and would top my list. I’d fill it out with games you guys probably think are too simple and linear, like Monster Bash, Cactus Canyon, Creature From The Black Lagoon, Scared Stiff, Elvis, Cirqus Voltaire and Total Nuclear Annihilation
That was my question! Probably top 3 for me. I’ve also never even gotten to try a Godzilla machine yet though so now I’m kinda psyched to see what it’s all about.
The last great pinball machine that was ever made was created in 1999. 1989-1999 represents the greatest pinball decade in pinball. You've managed to put the two "iconic" fan layout tables in your top 10 from a time when B/W was scaling back table features to save money on production costs in an attempt to stay in business. They're popular for sure, but not the best B/W games. Stern owes their current existence to Jersey Jack proving they could sell 7000 dollar pinball machines to upper-middle class people for use in their homes. I will say that Keith is really doing very good things at Stern, and his layouts are a throwback to the greatest decade in many ways.
My favorite pinball is Addam's Family. Though I think the greatest pinball of all time is Theatre of Magic. As the magic box gives you different things to do.
My top 10: 1. Twilight Zone 2. Theatre of Magic 3. Tales of the Arabian Nights 4. Alien Poker 5. Black Knight 6. Medieval Madness 7. Monopoly 8. Cactus Canyon 9. Baby Pac-Man (videogame/pinball hybrid) 10. Flash Gordon
You guys mentioned MM and how it ranked top in all these lists, and my brain went "yea but for real AfM is nicer.. almost the same thing, but feels even better to play.. why isn't that even rated higher by all these experts?", and then you guys made my pinball day. TBH i am not a big pinhead or anything and far from great, rarely play for real (mostly on PC with a game pad, but we have a local pinball club that have monthly open-to-public-days i am happy to attend once in a while, enjoying their AfM among other classics & newer machines), so having some of the "experts" finally agree with what i'm thinking in regards to MM felt like i knew something all the time that simply got ignored by those that should know better than myself lmao...
My top 10: 10 - Monster Bash -- better flow than Medieval Madness 9 - Attack From Mars -- great tournament machine, but lacks variety 8 - Godzilla -- a brilliantly designed and very modern game, but there are more fun and more challenging games 7 - Flash Gordon -- tops for sound in its day, will never stop being challenging, and was way ahead of its time, one of the most underrated games 6 - The Lord of the Rings -- top 5 for theme, very good sound BUT grindy and left side 'souls' thing is delete-worthy 5 - Stern Star Trek -- great layout, very much to like (but nothing extra great) 4 - Demolition Man -- top 5 for sound, top 3 for theme, great flow, and very hard (so you never get tired of it) 3 - Star Trek: The Next Generation - top 3 for theme, top 3 for sound, and very hard (so you never get tired of it) 2 - The Walking Dead -- top 5 for sound, top 5 for theme, rewards smart play, and very hard (so you never get tired of it) 1 - Game of Thrones -- top 3 for sound, top for theme, top for variety of ways to play it, and very hard (so you never get tired of it)
I own most of those. I’d say TOTAN, Elvira hoh and scared stiff are up there too for top ten. Maybe white water or Indiana Jones. TOTAN close to top for me.
This will definitely be one of the most intriguing yet controversial episodes but I’m glad you made it! Will return to this comment after watching to give my take.
Only two I would have added to either the Top 10 or honorable mentions are AC/DC and Monster Bash. Two great bales that I don’t get tired of playing. Great video! Thanks!
If you could buy one (at $10k gees) with huge action and lots of fun.. what would you recommend? I had 4.5hrs of straight play on the 84' kings of steel and I couldn't let it go. I played the pirates of the Caribbean back in Bahrain and loved it.
I fell in love with T2 when I was young and now own it, it is rather simple but that gun and the voice over, no matter how many time I get back to it it s always a great fun. But I am aiming for Jurrassic park for my next one.
I don't own any pins but I am surrounded by so many establishments that I have access to almost all of them within a 15 mile radius. That being said I still want to buy a South Park table based on the theme alone. They really should make a new version with all the different characters and story lines they have had over the 20+ years of it being on air.
It certainly is because it has saved me thousands of dollars lol. I just stumbled into the scene a year ago while having no idea Cleveland Ohio had so many places that held different leagues and tournaments. Never in my life did I think I'd be a pinball guy because I don't even play video games. Cheers 🍻
I wonder if you guys were making a list of the top 10 cars ever would you only list the cars from the last 10 years? Would the 63 corvette not make the list? 🥴
Ranking are personal (no one should forget that), and some of the pinball machines here are sure the best all around (I've a huge soft spot for LOTR), but Twilight Zone should have been at least mentioned: it's a bigger TAF, creative toys (powerfield, clock, gumball), good integration of the theme, and one of the most loved pinball machine in the fandom.
Really enjoyable video! Godzilla at #1 surprised me a little but I too love modern Stern’s, and am partial to the music tie-ins with Metallica, Iron Maiden, and AC/DC. Your whole list including HM’s makes me want to check out ones I don’t know as well. Just from a personal experience, I really enjoyed Mustang, Harley Davidson, Tales of the Arabian Nights too. Subscribed! 🎉
You guys are younger so the Godzilla theme doesn’t really speak to you but the large majority of pinball players are in the 45-60yr old range (I am 52) and the Godzilla Theme is extremely nostalgic for us.
Before Godzilla, I was a casual pinball player with a South Park machine. I recently purchased the 70th Anniversary model. Initially, I hesitated because after watching some shorts, I thought the gameplay seemed a bit simplistic. Once the machine arrived and I started playing, I found the ball moved too fast and often drained straight down the middle, or there were many unavoidable situations. There were moments when I thought I should have bought Jaws, Rush, or Guns & Roses instead. However, after adjusting the settings a bit to balance the difficulty, such as enabling extra balls, and fine-tuning the leveling, I started to find the game more interesting. As I became more familiar with the gameplay, I began to learn the detailed rules and fun techniques, and now I understand why so many people are passionate about this pin.
biggest smile on my face when you guys put Ghostbusters in the top 10. probably between this and Tron are my favorite games. GB is just so underrated I feel and people don't give it enough credit. I love that you can play it a few different ways, sometimes I just try to go for as many ghosts as I can and just fall into the modes. I was one shot away a couple weeks ago from starting "We're Ready To Believe You".. been chasing that feeling since
Thanks. Yeah we’ve been told for years we are wrong about certain games, and then, over time people actually play them before crying about our takes and end up loving them. We take it as a badge of honor now.
I think while GB is a great game, people who bought it new and were involved in hobby when the designer was arrested for child molestation, have a hard time separating the game from him. Even though a lot of people worked on it. He signed my game at a show and I just couldn't look at it everyday.
I can’t really comment on this top 10 since most of them are so new I’ve never played them. As much as I would like to, I don’t have the money or the space for one in my home, and finding newer pins in public is like pulling teeth around here (and of the few I have seen, many aren’t well maintained). So, my personal top 10 would be very mid-90’s heavy. Theatre of Magic is #1 by far, and somewhere in there would be Addams Family, Twilight Zone, Attack from Mars, Monster Bash, No Good Gofers, Cirqus Voltaire, Black Knight 2000, Scared Stiff, World Cup Soccer…maybe even a couple of nostalgic favorites that aren’t objectively great, like Junkyard and NBA Fastbreak.
Back in the 70’s Dad’s business was an amusement company. The main 3 I remember us having were 8 Ball, Playboy, and KISS. Those would be considered vintage machines today. We had those when Gunfight was the most advanced in video games.
@SDTM In all seriousness, I'm just a hobbyist, and LOVE this list. I feel fortunate to have played each one, and all are fabulous games. This would be a ridiculously cool "money is no object" list of games to purchase.
I am looking at getting a Pinball machine for out house. Haven't played one since I was a teen. It has been a looooong time. lol! Thanks for the comprehensive list. Really helped out a lot. I am looking at getting themes that interest me more then others, so Star Trek and Jurassic Park are the ones I am looking at.
Just finished watching... this is great content. I am always on the hunt for local HUO pins and this helps me a lot. on a side note - wondering if Elton John would of made this list if list was created in 2024?
I wanna start making videos of my pinball games and came across your video. I want to say thank you for sharing this video. This will help me to learn the game and choose the tables that are the best. Oh and my most favorite Pinball ever played since Windows XP? Space Cadet 3D.
If we aren’t having fun then there’s no reason to record. Hell, Greg and I find ways to have fun and shoot the shit at a bus stop or in a Mexican restaurant.
Thanks for doing more videos guys! Your my #1 favorite podcasters😊 My Honeymoon with Jurassic Premium was short lived and soon felt no joy playing it. Fortunately I just able to trade UP to a Godzilla premium and the joy in my collection is back. My son said that I really got the better end of the trade even though I forked out some 3k cash for the powder coated (even the wire forms)/customized modded out GZ. I can’t see myself getting tired of Godzilla.
There are so many good pins, for different reasons. This couldn't have been easy to do. I'm suprised LOTR made the list honestly. I own one and it is glorious, but it has become a ghost of pinball past.
Not sure if you guys go back to comment on old videos but I’ve been going back and forth on the TWD Pro vs Premium. If price didn’t matter would you go Pro or Premium? I’m a little worried that the lifting ramp would be super annoying but the light show, spinners, walker bombs and etc. look interesting. I’ve played the Pro a ton and love it (Top 5 pin maybe even #1) the light show is a little lacking but it still somehow works. just wondering if the Premium would take it even further or not? there’s no local premiums for me to try out or I wouldn’t even ask this question.
I’m looking to buy one good pinball game for my man cave. Deciding between Stranger Things and Aerosmith. I haven’t gotten super skilled at pinball yet, but I want something everyone can come over and enjoy. Do you have a couple thoughts on each comparatively?
All machines are quite recent machines... They are selected on gameplay. To me a pinball machine must also have good looking art work and fitting sounds. I would select Bally's Paragon, Baly's Firbeall, Bally's 4Million BC, Gottlieb's Spiderman, Atari's Superman, Bally's Fathom, Williams Gorgar. Those machines have great artwork and nice playfield lay outs. I don't like the very full playfields with small open pieces and a lot of ramps en loops.
It would interesting to see a video on like the best new in box pinball machine for the money. What new machines have the best builds, lowest maintenance?
This list is perfect. I was intrigued at 5. Perplexed at 4, but after the top 3 I totally get it and I think I agree. I have vivid memories playing LotR as a teenager. It is the table that got me hooked on pinball. It rivals Medieval Madness for my favorite pin of all time. Current newly released favorites are Jurassic Park and Godzilla though. What excellent tables. Godzilla especially is just a masterpiece. Both tables have such fun toys and you never feel like you’re out of things to do. I think the variety of objectives you can play for at any time is what makes them so fun to replay. Love this list and I really enjoyed the explanations. Well done. Still can’t decide on my own first pin though… MM? LotR? JP? Godzilla? Or maybe the better question is how many can I fit in the basement…
I've been looking forward to trying Godzilla. At the pizza place I go to almost every day, they have Medieval Madness which is my go-to, but when it's occupied or when I get bored, my go-to is always Jurassic Park. You have good taste in pinball.
Dream game room: (spoilers) #7 Deadpool #5 Jurassic Park #3 Attack from Mars #1 Godzilla Zach find me a CGC AFM and complete me :) Was hoping to see a mention of Cactus Canyon. Another classic I love playing any time I see it. Hoping the new code updates (if they ever come out) really bump it up on everyone's rankings.
I go to the Thirsty Sasquatch almost every day. They have amazing pizza and a great bar, and they also have a game room. There are 9 or 10 pinball machines, mostly with popular TV/movie themes. But there are 2 that I didn't recognize: Theatre of Magic and Medieval Madness. I looked them up and it said Medieval Madness was voted #2 best pinball machine of all time. So I tried it. Now I'm hooked. I'm 2nd on the leaderboard. I have to beat 94 million. The trolls keep ruining my game because when the right troll is up, the ball often gets stuck in the top left corner of the troll hole. You can shake it out but not usually without getting a tilt. And if you get a tilt without getting the ball unstuck, the troll comes back down and traps the ball so hard you can't shake it out anymore. You can but you have to wait for the trolls to move again. I mean, I know how to get it unstuck (I help people there all the time when the troll traps their ball) but it ruins the game. And we're playing the 2015 remake version. So it's frustrating but fun. :)
I love how y’all stuck to your guns on this one with the multitude of Stern picks. There’s a lot of Sterns because Stern makes the best machines. That’s well said. I agree a lot with the list aside from Metallica and TWD, but I attribute that mainly to my skill level (novice). Thank y’all for the amazing content and I’m happy to see you putting stuff out regularly again!
Damn, that’s so very kind. And yes we get crap a lot from people, but one thing will never change and that’s us being us, no apologizing for liking what we like. Thanks again for the continued support.
Since when Stern makes best machines? That’s because Williams is closed forever ash no longer producing pinball machines. Stern makes low quality pinball machines compared to the Williams machines. And their list is pathetic, mostly Sterns. And they wonder why they “get crap”. Of course they make those goofy lists intentionally, to provoke people to drop more comments like I’m doing now and generating more views and relevance to their videos.
Thanks for your comment? We love BW games as well, but all-around they no longer can be considered better games than what Stern is making. That’s like saying a Cadillac is better than a Porsche. Sometimes I wanna relax and ride in a Cadillac and sometimes I want a high performance machine.
For me, it is mostly my own collection (if I find a game I like more than one I have, I buy it and sell my least favorite game), and I agree on many of yours. In no particular order, my favorite games are: Wizard of Oz, Godzilla, Medieval Madness, Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park, JJP Pirates of the Caribbean, Twilight Zone, The Big Lebowski, Labyrinth, Tales of the Arabian Nights. I own all of those games. I also own Stern Star Wars and Stern TMNT. I like both of those, too, but if I am going to get a new game, SW is going first, and then TMNT.
Well it's good to know that I have a few pins in your tip 10. I don't agree with your assessment, but I can only pick the games I have played. Of course my top #1 game is medieval madness. Always enjoy your show.
Hard to disagree with this list...Ghostbusters is probably the most controversial one. I also appreciate having AFM above MM as I always see people prefer the latter. Maybe a separate video for pins pre-DMD would be warranted? Pins like Funhouse, Whirlwind, Fathom, Taxi, etc., deserve their time in the spotlight as well.
nothing out of the 1980's? high speed? firepower? pinbot? the black hole? all of these titles are iconic. i have a high speed, firepower, bride of pinbot, jokersz, and apollo 13. pinbot and bride are both great games i LOVE high speed. incredibly well laid out playfeild, fast pace and timeless midi-soundtrack
@@SDTM I want holograms, more toys even more complex mechanisms Only wide body's, I want that Williams feel again I want the best haha n elite pinball toppers should be snapped up by jjp by this point and all machines should come with there mod input... for a start
Also I'm sorry, the Metallica pinball was made in their WORST era, if you want to listen to a shitload of terrible metallica songs, then I suppose, go for it... ugh
But I get you guys wanna make sure you modern investments overtake the actual great pinballs of all time... It was sneaky to shove Medical Madness in, for Legitness rofl
My eye is twitching watching this but I still love it. I agree with Ghostbusters too, such a great game but do you go pro or premium? Some don't care for for that left ramp on the premium or the ghost slings... Embarrassed to say I've never even played a StarTrek. I've gotten better over the years and The Walking Dead has become one of my top 10 for sure. Great list guys.
I’ve owned half of these machines and I still think ACDC is my all time favourite, I just can’t get bored of it! As of right now I’ve got Acdc prem, nascar, Elvira hoh, Godzilla prem, fish tales, stern pirates, family guy, GNR LE and Munsters LE. Acdc is the only one I would never sell
Why is Indiana Jones not on this list when both of you have it rated as an A- game on your all time lists? For Theme, playability, depth of code, etc I would say it is hard to beat by any other Bally/Williams game :D
When I was a teen in the 80's, sometimes I would skip school, catch a bus to downtown, go to this arcade place & play mostly pinball, but they also have arcades. I was better at pinball than video games. Good times.
I have 5 of the 10 & LOTR is my favorite. Great variety of shots, simple rules, beautiful playfield. Mine is bolted to the floor…but the original cabinet artwork is….not impressive.
As a newbie at pinball, I've tried a lot of machines in this list and I was getting sad to not see Godzilla (cheered so loud for that #1) bc I was IMMEDIATELY hooked, like i didn’t wanna play anything else from the second I played Godzilla and for weeks i just researched everything i cpuld to get the best put of the game and yeah, it’s definitely my favorite
Hi, I have been getting into pinball as a hobby, I don't own any of the machines and I'm just a casual. Do you have a video explaining what any of these terms mean like kickback and code and all of these other things because I just don't understand what they mean. Thank you.
Never played Godzilla but MM, LOTR and AfM are among my top 5 for sure. What I would really love for somebody to make is a Kung Fury pinball machine. It has cult status potential, a diverse set of great content like ninjas, time-hacking, nazis, laser-raptors and vikings, not to forget the HOFF, and for every bumper hit score you could see a random wild animation of Kung Fury fighting nazi soldiers while Lazerhawk or David Hasslehoff's "True Survivor" plays in the background. That'd be so epic
But most of those games aren’t being made so that theory doesn’t work well. But we do love Stern games so maybe you’re on to something there regarding preference. Then again, I think stern games have best rules and best layouts and best feel and it’s hard to argue any of that.
Speaking of greatest games of all time, let me know when you get any AC/DC Luci Vaults. Also curious about BiBLE if the price is reasonable. 15-18k are a bit over IMO.
My list would look a lot different but varying tastes and opinions are part of why pinball is so great! Glad you mentioned TOTAN and Theatre. Isn’t it awesome that pinball is still getting better?! Can’t wait for something to knock Godzilla out of #1, not because I don’t like it, just love more good tables!
I've tried to explain to my non-pinhead friends why I love Godzilla so much and it's hard to articulate it. From now on, I'll just show them this video because you guys captured and articulated it perfectly. Great job.
Ahhh thanks! It truly is just all around greatness
Great list, guys! We always based a game by the magazine replay and how many weeks it took a game to pay for itself. Twilight Zone, Addams Family, Medieval, Attack from Mars. Good shots, simple rules. Wizard mode is a goofy good time. All the voices and one-liners! This game is so underappreciated.
agree with Monster Bash...it's incredibly addicting...
I'm waiting for Halloween season and then I'm gonna try it
Monster Bash and Fun House did not make it but I was glad to see Medieval Madness did
Surprisingly Twilight Zone did not make the top10.
ST TNG and LOTR are good inclusions.
Monster Mash also has a huge spot in my heart. First wizard mode I reached, and the music and voice lines are fantastic
Best 3rd flipper shot lives in Funhouse. 4 shots available to make from that one flipper alone (mirror, Rudy, Trapdoor, Hot Dog.)
I do agree with many of the picks on the list, but Twilight Zone definitely should have been on here IMHO, but we all have different tastes. The playfield on the Zone was SO revolutionary when it came out, was an "extra wide", and had the most shot options for the longest time. I love The Shadow, but I would have swapped those two. Thanks and many agree with you on TZ
Leaving TZ off this list makes me question the whole list. Huge oversight.
You guys should do a top 10 best designs for each pinball designer. That would be fun to watch
I'm a pinball casual but the first one that really gripped me was Black Knight Sword of Rage. The black knight in the middle with his flail was so cool to me and the music really sold it. Magnasave was really cool too because it was the first machine I played that had a button in the center. If I could own any machine it would be that one hands down. It has a special place in my heart and I wonder what you guys think of it.
The topper on it is also so legendary
BKSOR is legendary. I would definitely put it up there in the top 10, especially for a sequel, which is kind of rare in pinball.
Oh damn cool game especially the pro. We feel the prem/LE upper playfield is flawed and kind of ruins the game
@@SDTM Why out of curiosity? Is it too over powered or just underwhelming from a gameplay perspective?
With proper nudging you can stay up there infinitely. Which makes it boring.
Thank you for this video! I've never considered pinball as a hobby until I watched this video, then spent the weekend tracking down some of these machines around my area. I think I'm hooked now..
Welcome to the club. The addictively awesome club!!!
That's really cool! I love the pinball map. Pretty much every machine I want to try is near my area.
Mata Hari, released in 1978, is still one of my all time favorites. It has three distinct ways to win, which is very unusual for any machine.
Monster Bash is #1 for me. It has such a fun and approachable theme. It is easy to understand, and each objective is just fun.
Thanks, we have that one in our local lounge, and I haven't played it yet. It's hard to get me away from Medieval Madness
I like the list but to not have Monster Bash even mentioned…toys, code, difficulty, it’s inviting to walk up and play, funny, and a classic theme.
Good argument and many would agree with you
My favorite game of all time- Jonny mnemonic 2nd =)
@@SDTM You're great at handling the list critics!!!
Addams Family should easily be on the all time top ten list. Way ahead of its time!
All current machines are sitting on the shoulders of this giant
played godzilla and deadpool for the first time last week. Stern did such a good job on them.
I haven’t read the comments, but how in the hell does Iron Maiden not make the list? I was never an Iron Maiden fan, but I absolutely love this pin. It’s all subjective and I buy/play what I like and IM will never leave my collection. Just my $.02 worth.
It was a tough one to not put on there. We went back and fourth for about an hour on that pin alone. I love it as well. (Greg)
I'm not a hardcore pin-head, but my favorite is the old pinball classic: Xenon.
Time Machine, The Getaway, T2, Elvis, Addams Family, Twilight Zone, Theatre of Magic, Jurassic Park, Lethal Weapon 3, some of my favourite pinball games. Also A Nightmare on Elm Street
And I would agree with #1-never wanted Zilla but my son was a fan, so I bought it. Elwin is a genius. Doesn’t get old. Great game.
Same here (Zach)
My top 10 constantly changes but the one thing that never changes for me is that ...There needs to be more pins with Dirty Donny art packages! It's been too dang long!
Agreed!
Completely agree..
Yep - LOVE my Metallica's Dirty Donny artwork!
Solid list guys! Great to see more videos from you two. Keep it up!
Big thanks my friend
@@SDTM I'm a new fan as well :)
A few surprises there lads, no twilight, Addams, Indiana or even any JJP maybe Pirates enjoyed watching. Hope all well
It’s hard to come up with a Top 10, but for me this list seemed a little skewed towards newer games, and for me they tend to be too complex.
That’s a great list. I own CC, Creech, SS, and CV. Classic 90s BW I love (Zach)
How is the Twilight Zone not on here. Best game ever. Lost in the Zone best complete ever.
It is a great wizard mode no doubt
That was my question!
Probably top 3 for me.
I’ve also never even gotten to try a Godzilla machine yet though so now I’m kinda psyched to see what it’s all about.
100% Agree whit TZ ❤❤
Yes. This is what I loved about you guys when you first started your videos. Thank you.
Glad we brought it home this time for ya.
Yeah theatre made our Honorable Mentions and yes Addams is such a classic. I own one and really enjoy it (Zach)
Great video 👍
I predict jersey jack Harry Potter pin will be on the list next year.
This past weekend I played No Good Golfers and that was surprisingly a great pin. The Shadow is also up there.
Yeah gofers is underrated
i love gofers
My top 10:
1. Twilight Zone
2. Theatre of Magic
3. Tales of the Arabian Nights
4. Alien Poker
5. Black Knight
6. Medieval Madness
7. Monopoly
8. Cactus Canyon
9. Baby Pac-Man (videogame/pinball hybrid)
10. Flash Gordon
Your #3 and #4 picks are my #1 and #2. Being that close gives me a lot of faith in you boys! :)
But... your #1 is my #3. Damn well done list!
That’s awesome! Haha thanks for chiming in, it’s nice getting that feedback.
My top 10:
10 - Monster Bash -- better flow than Medieval Madness
9 - Attack From Mars -- great tournament machine, but lacks variety
8 - Godzilla -- a brilliantly designed and very modern game, but there are more fun and more challenging games
7 - Flash Gordon -- tops for sound in its day, will never stop being challenging, and was way ahead of its time, one of the most underrated games
6 - The Lord of the Rings -- top 5 for theme, very good sound BUT grindy and left side 'souls' thing is delete-worthy
5 - Stern Star Trek -- great layout, very much to like (but nothing extra great)
4 - Demolition Man -- top 5 for sound, top 3 for theme, great flow, and very hard (so you never get tired of it)
3 - Star Trek: The Next Generation - top 3 for theme, top 3 for sound, and very hard (so you never get tired of it)
2 - The Walking Dead -- top 5 for sound, top 5 for theme, rewards smart play, and very hard (so you never get tired of it)
1 - Game of Thrones -- top 3 for sound, top for theme, top for variety of ways to play it, and very hard (so you never get tired of it)
Excellent list. Great to see Demolition Man. Way underrated.
Indiana Jones pinball adventure takes first for me. Love the total chaos of it.
It is a great for sure!
I own most of those. I’d say TOTAN, Elvira hoh and scared stiff are up there too for top ten. Maybe white water or Indiana Jones. TOTAN close to top for me.
Yeah hard to argue against any of those (I own them all as well haha so I’m definitely a fan) (Zach)
so happy to see metallica on this list because it was the first game we ever bought and definitely my favorite
YES Dead Pool ( made the list )
Man they better make a whole bunch of them during sterns October run !!!
That’s a great problem to have! And South Park is definitely a guilty pleasure pinball machine for me (Zach)
The consensus thus far is that TZ should have been in there, especially since there were no widebodies present.
Subscribed! 🎉
Acdc is awesome should be on the list. Always had a soft spot for funhouse and high speed as well
Personally, AC/DC is in my top 10. I like it (and the music) more than Metallica.
You guys are younger so the Godzilla theme doesn’t really speak to you but the large majority of pinball players are in the 45-60yr old range (I am 52) and the Godzilla Theme is extremely nostalgic for us.
VERY! ;-)
I played most of these Pins today actually.Pinball Pete's in Ann Arbor Mi has all 10 of these machines that you mentioned . Great video guys.
Dang we wanna get up there some day
@@SDTM Pinball road trip adventure documentary coming soon???
Back in the 70’s Dad’s business was an amusement company. The main 3 I remember us having were 8 Ball, Playboy, and KISS. Those would be considered vintage machines today. We had those when Gunfight was the most advanced in video games.
I recently purchased the Attack from Mars virtual pinball machine. Good to see it has 2 of the top 10 games on it (Medieval Madness is included).
I'm 8 seconds in, and completely disagree with this list. Lol, excited to watch, guys...
Hahahaha love it
@SDTM In all seriousness, I'm just a hobbyist, and LOVE this list.
Top 10 Greatest Pinball Machines Of All Time (SDTM, 2023)
Sponsored by Stern
Nope. But if you know someone there that is looking for a couple goofy guys to play test some of their games, we know some guys.
Best PInball Show on the Interzones.
I wanna start making videos of my pinball games and came across your video. I want to say thank you for sharing this video. This will help me to learn the game and choose the tables that are the best. Oh and my most favorite Pinball ever played since Windows XP? Space Cadet 3D.
The reason I love your show is because you guys are just fun even when your being self aware you have fun with it.
If we aren’t having fun then there’s no reason to record. Hell, Greg and I find ways to have fun and shoot the shit at a bus stop or in a Mexican restaurant.
This was great! Hard to disagree with your list but was surprised by #2 for sure.
Thanks buddy, appreciate you coming to hang out over here.
Zach, please can you do a future video on candle scents that match each particular pinball machine (:
Uh Flippin great idea!
Thanks for the kind words my friend! Oooh what color powdercoat did you go with in the GZ?
@@SDTM Heat Ray blue all the way down to the flipper rubber… so cool!
Glad that Lotr made the list. I own one as well as being a huge fan of the movies. You said it best, "You're playing the movies".
I need one again
Dream game room: (spoilers)
#7 Deadpool
#5 Jurassic Park
#3 Attack from Mars
#1 Godzilla
Zach find me a CGC AFM and complete me :)
Was hoping to see a mention of Cactus Canyon. Another classic I love playing any time I see it. Hoping the new code updates (if they ever come out) really bump it up on everyone's rankings.
New code could push it into the top 10, but we have to wait and see
Keep this great content coming!
Keep the love coming!
Thanks buddy. And by no means is this our personal top 10 because I don’t own and won’t own some of these on the list.
Hard to disagree with this list...Ghostbusters is probably the most controversial one. I also appreciate having AFM above MM as I always see people prefer the latter.
Maybe a separate video for pins pre-DMD would be warranted? Pins like Funhouse, Whirlwind, Fathom, Taxi, etc., deserve their time in the spotlight as well.
nothing out of the 1980's? high speed? firepower? pinbot? the black hole? all of these titles are iconic. i have a high speed, firepower, bride of pinbot, jokersz, and apollo 13. pinbot and bride are both great games
i LOVE high speed. incredibly well laid out playfeild, fast pace and timeless midi-soundtrack
I would really like more pin manufactures in the future, innovation and tech are just right now for the next gen of pinball.
Preach!
@@SDTM I want holograms, more toys even more complex mechanisms Only wide body's, I want that Williams feel again I want the best haha n elite pinball toppers should be snapped up by jjp by this point and all machines should come with there mod input... for a start
Ghostbusters has the best artwork of any modern Stern. The back glass alone poops all over anything else since.
I agree! It still gets me ever time I see it!!!!(greg)
Wow so of what 70 years of pinball your top 10 are mostly post 2010 pinball machines? and not only that Stern? Seems like Fanboism to me...
You guys should do a top ten by era / decade.
Also Deadpool is amazing
We have done something similar, but love true idea, thank you.
Addams Family, Medieval Madness, Monster Bash and TOTAN (ahead of TOM) are first to my mind for this. Ghostbusters from the more modern pins.
Hey thanks buddy
I’ve owned half of these machines and I still think ACDC is my all time favourite, I just can’t get bored of it! As of right now I’ve got Acdc prem, nascar, Elvira hoh, Godzilla prem, fish tales, stern pirates, family guy, GNR LE and Munsters LE. Acdc is the only one I would never sell
Why is Indiana Jones not on this list when both of you have it rated as an A- game on your all time lists? For Theme, playability, depth of code, etc I would say it is hard to beat by any other Bally/Williams game :D
It’s personally one of our favorites for sure
I’ll be adding this list to my comprehensive compilation of all of your Top 10 lists from STDM videos. :)
When I was a teen in the 80's, sometimes I would skip school, catch a bus to downtown, go to this arcade place & play mostly pinball, but they also have arcades. I was better at pinball than video games. Good times.
Best of all time? If "best" is defined as "most toys," I suppose.
This is so "Cult of the New" it's not even funny.
hahaa lord of the rings is my favorite. so happy to see it in here, somewhat wasnt expecting it so high
It’s greatness. JACKPOT ONE!!!
I have room for one pinball machine and if I have to pick just one it will have to be Medevial Madness. If they remake it I am buying it for sure.
Is Stern still taking orders for new Godzilla? I just got out of a big financial hardship and I can finally afford something nice for myself.
Yes they are. Flipnoutpinball.com
I think that you just want to sell more sterns hense being so favouritized to them in your top 10. Well played
Hell yes!
What would your list be?
I ran to the garage, phone in hand to hide from family to bask in the beautiful glow of another SDTM episode.
Good job putting the list together, Im sure it wasn't easy to keep from squeaking in some pet games
No Pets Allowed :)
