      @@BryanThePotato no. I got back from CES testing it on Sunday when it ended. The giveaway lasted from December 6th till Janurary 1st. If you check the Discord I didnt even think I was going to be at CES until about December 22nd. I still prefer bhaptics at the moment due to its massive game compatibility, however, the OWO is more realistic. I cant do a giveaway on the OWO vest though because its not out yet.

    Also, here's a little more info from someone who is in contact with OWO and has a DevKit at home. 😁
    1. Yes, they do focus on VR. That's why they demonstrate it with a Quest. I guess it was just easier to get integration in the flatscreen games running...
    2. The pads do actually keep sticky for quite a while. They aren't just "sticky pads", but the stuff is actually hydrogel. I kept my pads running for a good 6 months before I replaced them.
    3. The Bluetooth module currently doesn't connect to the Quest or PC directly, but goes through a phone or tablet in the same network. So it is a bit more finicky to set up...
    4. They are already working on sleeves as an addon. 😎

    • @VRCentral
      @VRCentral  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      1. They were doing a good bit of flat screen testing at the booth with fortnite and other games but I only showed off the VR haha.
      2. Thats good to know about the pads and I'll have to keep that in mind when I review it after getting my own!
      3. I heard about the phone thing but I wasn't 100% sure. I do hope that it changes upon release though.
      4. Thats great to hear about the sleeves! I want them!!!
      And also if you happen to have a spare one from the dev kit I know a guy that would love to get his hands on one ;) XD

      @VR Central yeah I kept waiting to see them make a cameo in your video. Thrill had it in his if you want to check it out. Not sure why they didn't have it on display for you, lame!
      Personally hoping they include Population One. And honestly, why Airzona instead of after the fall? Lol

      @@Fearl3ss234 Well, the answer for that last one is pretty simple: After The Fall has anti cheat, so mods are very hard to do, Arizona Sunshine doesn't. 😉 Yes, I made that mod.

  • @Vestaaa480
    @Vestaaa480 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I understand that it uses electrodes to stimulate but are they closer to bhaptic, using shock instead of vibrations, or do the electrical impulses actually trick the brain into believing these things happen?

    • @VRCentral
      @VRCentral  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To be completely honest I would need to do further testing. I think that right now it definitely works and is fun to use. But would need to test it over several games and multiple hours over each to be sure. I pre-ordered mine though so Ill make a follow up video and be sure to address that when I know more :)

    Honestly what I want for one of those vests is being able to feel when a character touches you physically speaking with their hands I'm sure more than a few people know what I'm getting at and obviously a vest is only step one there needs to be a pair of pants to go with that vest or at least a pair of boxer shorts but I'm thinking more along the lines pants .

    • @VRCentral
      @VRCentral  ปีที่แล้ว

      yea i do hope they add more coverage area. thatd be awesome. I am also gonna be uploading on 2 different sets of haptic gloves over the course of the next few days

    • @peterparker6584
      @peterparker6584 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VRCentral The gloves are also kind of a nice idea .don't get me wrong I don't want to know what it feels like to be shot or kicked in the meat and potatoes. but it would be nice if they made something similar to the suit the guy had in Ready Player One. Yes I know that's a horrible example but it's the most PG example I can think of for a proper haptic suit without being too descriptive. I like the idea of them making a suit where it's not just somebody punches you slaps you shoots you and you get a low level tickle shock. It would be nice if they actually made something that say somebody puts their hand on your shoulder shakes your hand gives you a pat on the back that kind of thing and in response you get some sort of tactile reaction instead of merely owie owie owie. I think right now everything that's haptic they only seem to have a electro shock response. I still remember when the closest you got to haptic was a plastic backpack with a subwoofer speaker that when you got hit in a video game it sent a vibration through your body using the speaker lol. Yes that was a thing around the time the Power Glove came out needless to say they didn't catch on. If I understand this technology presently it's strictly pain response but I could be misunderstanding the way it's being described. I know where about 10 or 15 years away from feeling something like touching grass in a virtual environment or picking up a baseball and feeling like we're picking up a smooth object as a few examples. but it would be nice to have some simple things like if you interact with somebody physically you feel some sort of a contact other than pain I'm just throwing it out there . Maybe somebody's already doing that and I just misunderstand the way the technology appears to be working. When you compare this suit to stuff I seen not a year ago the advancement in the technology is mind-boggling that quickly. Another thing I'm a little ticked off about how old the quest to is and the price keeps going up instead of going down. I waited several years before buying one could have bought one cheaper if I had bought it about a year earlier lol. I couldn't get one used the used ones if you can find one or nearly as much as buying a new one which in itself was insulting. In a nutshell for about $100 more+ tax is what it cost to buy a new one instead of buying a used one and buying a used one you go through a whole bunch of potential issues.
      Does anybody else have a bizarre problem with their Quest fogging up as soon as you put it on within seconds? I've lost track of how many times I have to take mine off and wipe the lenses.i even bought those anti-fog pads that a couple of people on TH-cam say to use where are you wipe the lenses down before you put the device on and those Andy fog pads were no good at all people normally use them for their glasses but at any rate they do not work in my case lol. I'm eventually going to have to pay about 80 bucks for one of those fan units that goes on the back of the headset which looks like a pair of scuba goggles;) that attach to your headset .it's about the only thing I haven't tried. i had a Sony Mark 1 and Mark 2 HUD unit for several years before I bought the quest I'm probably one of 10 people in Canada who has that Sony head mounted display unit;). If you're not familiar with them one half of the unit is designed beautifully and the other half is designed like Dollar Store trash lol. Thank God Quest made a decent head strap. The Sony head mounted display units when they were new in Japan were like a thousand or 2,000 Canadian and the head strap unit that comes on them looks like it's for a Halloween mask from the dollar store lol. They break within about a month and you basically have to figure out some sort of a workaround. i like the Sony units as a wearable computer monitor Forest off like TH-cam videos. At this point they're like almost 20 year old technology lol. My only beef with the quest at this point is the piss poor battery life. Only work around for that is a USB cable and those battery packs;). Mostly so far been using it for watching stuff on a big screen haven't done much VR wise because most VR games that are out there look like something a kid plays on their cell phone lol. There's a few things like the Iron Man game and Resident Evil 4 VR or Walking Dead VR games as a few examples. I just don't know why so many people doing stuff for VR are doing something that looks like it's for the Nintendo 64;) or something older.

    • @peterparker6584
      @peterparker6584 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe in a couple years we'll get to see a port of Grand Theft Auto V or cyberpunk 2079 on the quest or something similar to The Quest whatever they have at that point;).

    There is so much open space between the pads. I feel like its missing a lot a area that would be useful for immersion. Did the 10 pads spread throughout the body okay, or was it more centralized on just the pads?

    • @VRCentral
      @VRCentral  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      i never really felt like the spread of the pads was the issue because it does disperse, but the issue is getting it to work with the games it claims its compatible with. I've yet to get it to work consistently with a game since ive owned it in october unfortunately. the most i got was that it would be ok in a game's starting area and then stop working as soon as the round starts haha

      @VRCentral  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They havent said if it will or not. As if thus moment though, because vrchat took down all mods i doubt it will. But on that same note, when the mod support was removed, it made the bhaptics not work with the game either :(

    @VR Central, after having this for a year, which do you prefer the bhaptics vest of the OWO? And does this actually feel like the events that are taking place in VR or is it just the shock? Thanks!

    • @VRCentral
      @VRCentral  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Between the 2 I prefer bHaptics. Its a lot easier on the setup, so many games are natively compatible to where I can just bootup with 0 issues, and beyond that its custom modable to where I managed to have an entire stream setup where people can redeem channel points to affect my vest on twitch.
      The OwO is cool in practice, the shocks hurt way more and the look is cool, however the gel pads dry out so fast and to replace them its like $80, and it hardly works half the time. I spent a total of 12 hours over a few different days trying to get it to work with a game before I gave up and their customer support didn't help. Taking days to ask "well did you try rebooting?" Which I don't entirely blame them for, theyre a new company trying to get into the space, the technology is cool, but I just can't recommend buying it in its current state now that I have one.
      All in all, both of them are really cool and I like how they work when they work, but bHaptics has tons more compatibility and is way more reliable.

    It is now June 2024. This kind of technology is kind of a FAD to me. I do not like this OWO vest or suit where it makes our bodies CRAMP depending on the intensity.
    Game support is not there with this OWO suit. And majority of the games I do not have.
    BHaptics uses vibrators that indicate what is happening in the games which is somewhat safer to use, but still there are downfalls of the BHaptic vests far as getting a true immersive feelings of what is happening in the games. Other videos say it varies from game to game and not sure if some of them are telling the honest truth about the Vest.
    I am still going to hold off another year or so to see where this technology goes/improves at all. But I definitely do not want the OWO vest which makes our body cramp. This is like something they would use in hospitals.
    Thanks for your honest video on this device and safety warnings. Take care.

      I would say between the 2 bHaptics is a lot better in their current states. I had really high hopes for this, pre-ordered it. and it was so janky that I couldnt even make a video on it after owning it and ive had it since October.
      bHaptics may only work on haptic motors but for the amount of different accessory options for different parts of your body, the game compatibility, and that its plug and play for PC and Quest its much better in my opinion.
      Plus although it runs off of haptic motors, its not just on/off. It goes in so many patters and intensities that it does give an immersive feeling to what you experience in real time
