The best part of the whole video is when he plays Youngest Daughter and it sounds 100% like the record because all the knobs on his danelectro flanger are broken/stuck.
this stuff is expensive lol. he’s got a 4x12 cab with VINTAGE vintage 30’s, a vtm60 amp head. that whole setup is like $3k. albeit this was recorded 9 years ago and trends changed but holy moly is this setup nowhere near cheap anymore.
Best rig rundown I’ve ever seen. Right to the point. Thank you. Just found Superheaven the other day haven’t stopped listening. Obsessed with that tone!! DIY tone!!?? Unpopular stuff!?!? Solid sound!! I can’t say enough good things.. the best!!😊
As someone who works at guitar center but still knows very little about different kinds of gear, this series has become very useful for me. So thank you for making this a thing and keep em coming
First off, thank you guys for doing these videos! I really enjoy being able to see what gear some of my favorite bands use. That being said, if it is at all possible, can you please make one with Nick or Ryland of Citizen?
2023 and still some of the thickest tones to grace our ears, I play in a three piece and as the guitarist superheaven have been a great influence in introducing me into big sounding dynamic chords, I know they're a two guitar setup, but it makes a difference on just the one guutar
i'd like to know myself. Not sure which ones are in the squier but the classic player has pickups very close to p90's rather than fenders regular jazzmaster pickups. You can find used classic player pickups online so maybe that's what he put in the squier.
+Danny Weinhofen I think he just swapped the old bridge for a tune o matic. A shitload of Jazzmaster players do that so they don't have to deal with strings popping out the saddles. J.Mascis does it, so I guess it's worth it!

There is a face in the door.
+Jack Savage so glad i'm not the only one who saw that
I eat ass
it's either Sordon's from Power Rangers or Mr. Freeze's face
i came here to leave this comment, but had the sense to check first.
Freaky
i like that he doesn't use a bunch of expensive shit and he still gets a really good tone
guitarfan149 all of the shit in his video has gone up in price since the video. With the exception of his Flange lol.

9 years ago that head and cab were probably $600 max 😢
@@nensha5084believe it or not man the guy left the comment when it was STILL inexpensive, lol
but seriously though, i think we can agree here that his guit tone is nice and massive. such a wide sound, sonically. i need to recreate it
Playing a Jazzmaster automatically makes you 20% better

Back 9 years later to watch him play that intro, currently trying to learn it
More drum talks would be awesome!
Holy fuck when Tay started strumming at 2:38 I felt like I was put in a time warp to 90's silverchair!!! :D
it'd be really cool if you guys could make some bass talks? really interested to know what the bass players are using.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed the face on the door.
Likewise hahahaha
more bass talks for the bassists please?
when are you going to a cloakroom gear talk????????
I can’t believe he’s using one of my all time favorite amps as a pedal platform
2:21 might be one of the most evil tones I’ve ever heard
2022 anyone ???
!!

I see a huge Moai.
Do Doyle from cloakroom!!!!
VTM hell yeah
5:20 💞💞
I used to use the micro amp! I think I'ma get another one. It's the perfect simple boost pedal.
this is the best ofall art
Where did superheaven go:(((
They broke up in 2016 :(
They’re back now
Only legends use Peaveys, you're a legend in the making bro
“Use what works.” ☯️
HAIL PEAVEY
Daylight is way to honest .I know man shit is just like a hassle.
Hell yeah with the cobalt strings.
Heck yeah
great vid!!!
daylight in the amp, cool.
Really need to start mic-ing things up. He even mentions it aha...

i thought i was the only one who saw it
Harley Mccallum

I also noticed before looking through the comments haha.
Zane Knight alright! Looks like we're not all crazy.
the fuzzrocious demon is the shit
fuzzrocious overall is a great company, super nice people
doea anyone know what pickups he put in his squire jazzmaster? or what ones are in his classic player
i'd like to know myself. Not sure which ones are in the squier but the classic player has pickups very close to p90's rather than fenders regular jazzmaster pickups. You can find used classic player pickups online so maybe that's what he put in the squier.
I started learning English with these rig rundown videos
pretty groovy
if you own a fender amp that uses the fender TONE app i made a setting that sounds damn close to his 😊
Check out the face on the door behind him 😳
Yall see the face on the door? 😮
My husband
There is def a face on the door. In other news, cool vid.
I see it, now I can't stop seeing it
What's the tuning?
see you don’t need expensive gear or guitar to sound good
Whats the new bridge that he put in the squier jazzmaster?
+Danny Weinhofen I think he just swapped the old bridge for a tune o matic. A shitload of Jazzmaster players do that so they don't have to deal with strings popping out the saddles. J.Mascis does it, so I guess it's worth it!
+Danny Weinhofen that's the bridge from a Mustang
Anyone know what pickups he's running?
stock fender p90's ig
I do see the face in the door. LOL
what tuning is he using? i gues its not the standard tuning in E
It's Drop C# (drop D in a half step down)
Better Art pretty sure it’s standard flat
@@gloryxkid Yeap. Eb
I like that he uses cheap gear theres still hope for poor musicians
ummmm does anyone see the face in the door?????
This video screams grunge.
Are those single coils or humbuckers?
single
but damn they sound thick dude! just like a humbucker!
IanSammiches jazzmaster pickups aren't p90s.
they do look similar but aren't quite the same.
Anyway it's an amazing fat tone for being single coils in the bridge position. That album sounds huge, I would've never imagined it.
Am I the only one who sees a face at the back door?
You apparent didn’t bother to read the 9 year old comments before you wrote this.
@@Gas-Stn-Sushi 🤭🤭🤭
can anybody else see a face in the door?
yea
play some music....JEEEEEZ
it's called gear talk for a reason
