Sir, I think I might have told you this already, but I'll do it again anyway. If you increase the pen sensitivity, the tablet will receive the signal from the pen, from a longer distance. Which means, the cursor will appear on your screen, without letting the pen touch the tablet. Like this, you will see where the pen is, and it will be easier to draw on non screen tablets. Try it out :)

@@Schlingelkind Hi! I have seen reviews where people complain about lags and other issues with the pen. Can you please share a genuine review on the same :)
I was very encouraged by this review to buy this tablet, to replace my Intuos 4, the deco tablet was great but it has like a dead zone of 0.5X0.5 cm areas of drawing, it wasn't much deal but it was getting annoying by the time you are colouring, that your pen stops responding when drawing fine details while zoomed out. had to get a replacement eventually. it's a good tablet but I was pretty annoyed with my faulty one, I replaced it with an Intuos pro-small. now I'm drawing using two tablets above each other :D , the Intuos 4 large and above it the new Intuos pro-small :D
I'm sure someone already mentioned it, but to see the cursor while hovering (to find mark-point), just change Photoshop settings to show the brush tip NORMAL instead of brush tip ACTUAL under Edit>Preferences>Cursors>Painting Cursors. Then you can see the brush at all times. Though I could see it anyway when I used a Deco, so I'm not sure what other setting may be at play here. The Deco V2 (that's "DECO V2" not "DECO 01 V2") is often on sale for around $75 and it features the quintessential "big red dial." Now that I've used a few XP-Pen devices, the dial has become a huge part of the appeal. Almost all tablets are great, so it comes down to niche needs to find the right one. The dial allows for smooth resizing of the brush to any increment (where as the "brackets" only jump between preset points, skipping up to 500 points when using a hi-res canvas). You can also zoom with it, which means with the dial and one button.. you can now resize your canvas and brush to any increment at any moment. Workflow speed-up here can't be understated. But yeah, the XP-Pen deco line is my go-to for introducing budget-oriented beginners to the medium. I used the Deco V2 for professional illustration with my mobile workstation before I switched to the XP-Pen Artist Pro 13.3" graphic tablet. It still took me a couple months to sell off the Deco because I got attached to it and didn't want to see it go lol.

Hey, i got it too and i find that it doesnt register very light strokes. I always have to apply some pressure. I'm new to tablets. Is it supposed to work like that?
I bought this about 2 months ago and it's my first tablet. The nibs wear really good and do not scratch the tablet surface. Yes, the first time opening the stand was difficult, but once you get it, it's easy after that. It does work on Android, but I use it on PC with Krita. This thing gets along so well with Krita. The driver is featured and the shortcuts help workflow. The included glove was too small for my hand, but I just use a little baby powder on my hand to help it slide across the tablet much better. :D When I first got it, I HATED it... BUT... it only took a couple hours to get really good with it. Now, I prefer to draw on the tablet vs analog. Thanks for the review, and basically confirming I made a good purchase.
Thank you so much for saying all of this now am pretty sure I will buy it too and yes I am also planning on using it on my HP laptop with Krita but can u tell me more abt how it works with Krita am again a little confused and afraid if I should buy it or not
Hey @MarloPainter i got it too, and i find that it doesnt register very light strokes. I always have to apply some pressure. I'm new to tablets. Is it supposed to work like that?
It is so strange when Brad talks about that Wacom doesn't have that jitteriness and shoestrings... I've got a bit old Intuos that has all those things. It did cost me 300euro couple years ago. I feel I've been tricked, when I bought it. It was one that came with wifi module with in the box. I think that was first model to have it included. That was long time ago.
I've been looking to start digital drawing, I want to make a comic or manga in the future so I been looking for affordable tablets and found your channel, which is helping me on what to look for. I'm stuck between a Huion or XP-pen
i would say go for xp pen since they actually have good after sale service but when it comes to huion they have very bad customer service and their products are faulty most of the time, i have heard so many complaints against huion its better to go for xp pen since they have good working products and they listen to their customers
I use a non-display tablet & computer connected to a 49" 4K TV and a long USB cable extension for fun laid back sketching. I also have trouble with fine inking switching back and forth between that and tablet display devices. But for blocking out things and general composition it rocks!
Great review, bought one I use it for business use and notes and it is awesome, if anything it is a bit too large so unless you are into Art I would rather buy something much smaller. As for the lines wobble, it depends on the software, with Paint 3D or my fav. Autodesk sketchbook it is just fine.
I have this and I love it. Also had the v1 but decided to upgrade to the v2 because of the pen. XP pen might have some problem with pressure sensitivity in Photoshop but it can be fixed with a short line of command.
i have had a wacom intuos small, andd.. it's ok.. but, i have lost my pen, so i've bought a new tablet, and it's this, AND IS SUUUPER SUPERIOR IN ALL SENSE that a wacom
I'm wondering why there's no pressure sensitive stylus for android that's a wireless Sonar Pen. Instead of plugging into the headphone jack, the pen comes with a small wireless receiver that connects via USB, and communicates with the pen, grabbing the pressure and tilt info in real time. To mitigate unwanted touch inputs, the receiver would track when there's pressure on the pen, and if it is, the screen would ignore input from whatever isn't the pen. The only drawback to this is the pen would need a battery since Android screens don't use EMR tech. Hopefully a replaceable AAA battery and NOT a AAAA battery that Surface Pens use, since the lack of power contributes to the wobbly lines and lag on those pens. There's an idea for Apple Pencil and Wacom competitors that I'm surprised no one has attempted. Android needs a wireless, universal, pressure sensitive pen that works on all their phones and tablets.
@@charlie2001 The screen already knows where your finger is since electricity is running through your body. The battery in the stylus and the tip of the pen would simulate that by sending electricity through the tip of the pen.
Well there are stylus enabled Android tablets. There are Samsung selections, and the tab s6 lite and the the Tab A 2019 with s-pen are cheaper options too. Huawei tablets also have stylus support. The RD is probably too expensive, since people after a stylus supported Tablet already have options the target audience will be too small to go with the effort. I like my sonar pen, but honestly it came too late. I doodle on my old iPad mini with it.... rarely.
I have one of these and will attest to the struggle being real adapting to this coming from pen and paper. It can be done but do expect some "difficulties" if coming from more traditional drawing with a pencil into your sketchbook.
I had to return mine yesterday as it doesn't really work with Mac's Catalina -- I thought it was me and my incompetence, but it turn out it's a rather diffused problem (check online anywhere). XP-Pen driver won't talk to a MacBook Air the way it should and the trackpad takes over the tablet's pen once you install it. So you can't use it at all. Tried several times (uninst/reinst/even did the glove dance...), followed instruction manual, and spoke to producer's support. Even used without installing the driver just with Sketchbook but at that point all functions are not recognised--obviously. It's a pity because I did like the product. Had to buy a Wacom now. Love your videos, Brad: fun and helpful, thanks mate.
I have one of this for almos a year now, I freaking love this tablet. The problems with losing the pressure I usually have on PS, on CSP works fine for me :)
@@TheSkyreborn hmm it's a good thing to have, with time the surface had some scratches that "forced" me to use the protector. You'll get used to that surface :)
So, I compared it to the Huion G610. And on the XP I like more the build quality. Smoother edges. Nice pen look on the tip holding part. The USB C plug....cause I am left handed.... a view little things. Overall they both a nice devices .Actually the driver of the XP is awesome. I got 3 screens here and I was wondering if I could set a button for monitor change...and baaaam, right there. Awesome. I kept this one. Someone of you misses the touchability?
In case anyone haven't said it, your phone may have a setting called OTG Connection which is disabled by default and may auto disable after idle. Try enable it and see if the tablet now works if it didn't before.
The screen protector looks like it's actually meant to be a tracing cover. There was a strip that looked like adhesive to attach it. My big question on all of these things is "Does it Lefty"? Meaning, can I flip it over and configure it in software so the buttons are on the right and the "top" of the device is the upside-down logo. I love these non-screen digitizers for photo editing. I find my pen/fingers cover the area I am trying to erase/edit on screen digitizers.
I know it's a late answer and you probably already figured it out, but just in case someone else reads this: Yes you can. You can configure this tablet to work in a 0 (normal), 90 (vertical with buttons up), 180 (left handed) or 270 (vertical with buttons down) degree rotation. Between the right and left handed it seems to mirror the hotkeys, so Hotkey 1 will always be the one at the top. But you can configure each hotkey individually anyway.

After using a screen tablet for a year, idk how but the learning curve for the screenless tablet went away. I had no problems transitioning to looking at my monitor. Quite bizarre
I just ordered this tablet for Christmas! I hope it works well as it does in this review and hopefully it lasts a long time. It was on sale so thats why I got it and maybe in the end the investment will be worth it XD
Between the Huion H611 and this tablet, which one is more worth it for the price? Do they perform the same? I've been considering buying either of them and I would appreciate if someone could help me.
I know I am 3 years late from the video release date. But I am still a beginner and this video helped me make a decision on purchasing the product. Great video and loved the glove dance😅
I recently bought a tab s 6 lite, and lemme tell you, thess kind if tablets are way easier on your back and neck. I can spend 6 hours without much pain or fatigue. But with s6 my eyes, neck and back got tired within 2 hours.
The one problem I have with drawing surfaces that are too rough, and especially when they don't scratch(ie it's harder than the nib), is that the nibs get worn down really quickly.
@@zoloko911 just remembered that I had to go into the tablet settings and disable windows ink to get the input sensitivity to work, but otherwise, it works pretty well.
@@metausername7195 I'm still using this tablet basically daily (around 4-5 hours of drawing a day), and I'm still using the nib that came already in the pen. Its only slightly worn down (keep in mind though, I don't apply much pressure when drawing). I think that even someone who uses a lot of pressure can get at least a full year's worth of use out of the 9 total nibs that come with the tablet. I've had the plastic cover/protector that comes with the tablet (shown around 5:53 in the video) attached since day one, since it's texture feels less soft than the tablet's actual surface, and that hasn't worn down either.
I have it since a few months. I like it a lot, only a few details. The rubber on the pen evetually stretches out and it's a little bit uncomfortable to hold. The tablet itself is pretty good but I don't know why in Photoshop there are some bugs changing the size of the brush when holding the Alt key and the 'right click' button on the pen. The brush become really huge or small, depending on which direction you're moving the pen. I assume this is a software problem, but there it is. Besides from that, it's good and I love it.
Just ordered one for 27€, hoping it's good. Gonna replace my small old very small Wacom Intuos (drawing area is about the sice of my phone screen), since it's just for my hobby and I am bad at drawing the cheap price is a big plus.
I just got my V2 and i don't notice any lag. Moved over from a Microsoft Surface that always took about half a second before it started/stopped after i used the pen, but here i don't notice anything like that
I have tried it, to my chagrin I didnt realize that membrane was the protective cover, and was dejected at how quickly it got scratched lol XD, happy to say it works well no scratching, and yea that protective cover actually gives a "canvas" look on some brushes, but prefer the bit of the actual surface
I connected it to my MacBook Air but it disengaged the trackpad so I either use the tablet to scroll on it or disconnect it so that I can use the trackpad. I can use the keyboard when it’s connected but it’s a hassle going between the two. I tried to reset the blutooth but that didn’t work. For $60.00 and some change I didn’t expect much.
My first ever drawing pen tablet is the Deco Mini 4, it's small and portable and I would love to upgrade to this Deco 01 V2 for a little bit bigger space for my digital art and animation journey and as an art student 🥺😭 (art is really expensive 😭) plus with FREE gloves and FREE pen stand so I wouldn't need to buy separately I hope I can buy this when I have saved up enough money 🥳✊🏻✨

I was very encouraged by this review to buy this tablet, to replace my Intuos 4, the deco tablet was great but it has like a dead zone of 0.5X0.5 cm areas of drawing, it wasn't much deal but it was getting annoying by the time you are colouring, that your pen stops responding when drawing fine details while zoomed out. had to get a replacement eventually. it's a good tablet but I was pretty annoyed with my faulty one, I replaced it with an Intuos pro-small. now I'm drawing using two tablets above each other :D , the Intuos 4 large and above it the new Intuos pro-small :D
ive been using this for a month now it is really good to draw with!
can it play osu?
It works with photoshop?
@@CASUALVISUALS Yup. Works perfectly.

XP-Pen is actually a very nice product. I've been using XP-PEN Star G640S and draw everyday since July and it's still in pretty great shape. I connected it into my phone, tablet & laptop and having no problem this far.
Totally recommended for artists, and affordable too :D

I have the same one thought buying it might've been a mistake, thanks for correcting me.🙌
This is the first drawing tablet I ever had and I just got it. It sure is hard to look at the screen to draw but I hope I'll learn
Hey, i got it too and i find that it doesnt register very light strokes. I always have to apply some pressure. I'm new to tablets. Is it supposed to work like that?
8:08 I see you paimon
Ah, I see a man of culture
I bought this about 2 months ago and it's my first tablet. The nibs wear really good and do not scratch the tablet surface. Yes, the first time opening the stand was difficult, but once you get it, it's easy after that. It does work on Android, but I use it on PC with Krita. This thing gets along so well with Krita. The driver is featured and the shortcuts help workflow. The included glove was too small for my hand, but I just use a little baby powder on my hand to help it slide across the tablet much better. :D
When I first got it, I HATED it... BUT... it only took a couple hours to get really good with it.

That was long time ago.

i would say go for xp pen since they actually have good after sale service but when it comes to huion they have very bad customer service and their products are faulty most of the time, i have heard so many complaints against huion its better to go for xp pen since they have good working products and they listen to their customers

I use a non-display tablet & computer connected to a 49" 4K TV and a long USB cable extension for fun laid back sketching. I also have trouble with fine inking switching back and forth between that and tablet display devices. But for blocking out things and general composition it rocks!
I was waiting for this for so long time
Great review, bought one I use it for business use and notes and it is awesome, if anything it is a bit too large so unless you are into Art I would rather buy something much smaller. As for the lines wobble, it depends on the software, with Paint 3D or my fav. Autodesk sketchbook it is just fine.

Hello. Do you have any idea about the after sales service of Huion and Veikk graphic tablets in India ?
I have this and I love it. Also had the v1 but decided to upgrade to the v2 because of the pen. XP pen might have some problem with pressure sensitivity in Photoshop but it can be fixed with a short line of command.
I’m thinking about purchasing one. Does it lag a bit for Ps?

it really scratches when you do not put that plastic layer on top. That scratching makes the surface damaged,
i have had a wacom intuos small, andd.. it's ok.. but, i have lost my pen, so i've bought a new tablet, and it's this, AND IS SUUUPER SUPERIOR IN ALL SENSE that a wacom
How World Urlaub Phone know where the pen is
@@charlie2001 The screen already knows where your finger is since electricity is running through your body.

Overall they both a nice devices .Actually the driver of the XP is awesome. I got 3 screens here and I was wondering if I could set a button for monitor change...and baaaam, right there. Awesome.

Someone of you misses the touchability?
In case anyone haven't said it, your phone may have a setting called OTG Connection which is disabled by default and may auto disable after idle. Try enable it and see if the tablet now works if it didn't before.
i have the v1 that i bought in 2018 and its still working fine i love it sm
I love it...my dad brought it for me months ago...if you want something in budget and awesome...it's totally for ya😊

Yes, my smol tablet, you are a roach.

I can’t decide whether I should get one of these or spend more money on the xp-pen artist 12
The one problem I have with drawing surfaces that are too rough, and especially when they don't scratch(ie it's harder than the nib), is that the nibs get worn down really quickly.

@@penjamin1479 hey i wanna get it too can i ask how the nib wear is for you ?

On DECO 01 V1 one reviewer said there is some delay/lag between pen position and the cursor. On Windows PC. Any of it here on V2? Thanks.
I just got my V2 and i don't notice any lag. Moved over from a Microsoft Surface that always took about half a second before it started/stopped after i used the pen, but here i don't notice anything like that
Can you make a comparison of XP-pen deco 01 v2 vs wacom intuos pro?
Im using it, mostly for OSU, good device.
I have tried it, to my chagrin I didnt realize that membrane was the protective cover, and was dejected at how quickly it got scratched lol XD, happy to say it works well no scratching, and yea that protective cover actually gives a "canvas" look on some brushes, but prefer the bit of the actual surface
Use ibis paint X on Android you can calibrate and customise the buttons of pen
I connected it to my MacBook Air but it disengaged the trackpad so I either use the tablet to scroll on it or disconnect it so that I can use the trackpad. I can use the keyboard when it’s connected but it’s a hassle going between the two. I tried to reset the blutooth but that didn’t work. For $60.00 and some change I didn’t expect much.
Just managed to cop one of these for $52 because of a nice amazon discount, can't wait for that same day shipping later
Is this tablet better than the deco pro?
My first ever drawing pen tablet is the Deco Mini 4, it's small and portable and I would love to upgrade to this Deco 01 V2 for a little bit bigger space for my digital art and animation journey and as an art student 🥺😭 (art is really expensive 😭)
