Pritzker is an absolute train wreck of a governor. He signed into law The Safety Act, between that and Kim Foxx, criminals now have very little to no consequences for their actions. Cook county in general, and Chicago in particular are hemorrhaging retail businesses. Chicago can’t even begin to recover those 3 factors are changed. I find the idea of Pritzker as president both absurd and horrifying.
What a bunch of bullshit. The Safety Act essentially removes cash bail which does nothing but harm poor offenders, and places the burden on prosecutors to prove that pre-trail detention is warranted. The biggest problem with the law is that it is extremely vague because it was pushed through the legislature without proper vetting of the language. That language will be changed over time through appeals and through the Illinois Supreme Court, but it will take time. Pritzker has nothing to do with Chicago losing businesses. Chicago is completely underwater with pension payments and debt service costs. It's literally 40% of their budget. If you have some magic panacea fix to that problem that doesn't piss off a ton of voters, feel free to share it. Otherwise, stop complaining.

Pritzker is an absolute train wreck of a governor. He signed into law The Safety Act, between that and Kim Foxx, criminals now have very little to no consequences for their actions. Cook county in general, and Chicago in particular are hemorrhaging retail businesses. Chicago can’t even begin to recover those 3 factors are changed. I find the idea of Pritzker as president both absurd and horrifying.

What a bunch of bullshit. The Safety Act essentially removes cash bail which does nothing but harm poor offenders, and places the burden on prosecutors to prove that pre-trail detention is warranted. The biggest problem with the law is that it is extremely vague because it was pushed through the legislature without proper vetting of the language. That language will be changed over time through appeals and through the Illinois Supreme Court, but it will take time.
Pritzker has nothing to do with Chicago losing businesses. Chicago is completely underwater with pension payments and debt service costs. It's literally 40% of their budget. If you have some magic panacea fix to that problem that doesn't piss off a ton of voters, feel free to share it. Otherwise, stop complaining.
