Bill O’Reilly - Trump, Political Fanaticism & Agreeing to Disagree | The Daily Show

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 26 ส.ค. 2024
  • Bill O’Reilly sits down with Jon Stewart, despite their differing ideologies, to discuss his new book “Confronting the Presidents.” The two talk about political fanaticism following the assassination attempt against Donald Trump, whether we’re experiencing a unique time of polarization, the danger of monetizing anger and hate speech, and debating the real-life consequences of the 2024 election in good faith. #DailyShow #JonStewart #BillOReilly

His show was the least useful of those 3 to watch, you could approximate his takes from a few minutes per year of secondhand clips shown elsewhere. Zero investigation or nuance. He refused to domestically prepare the US for Covid-19 (we had at least a month of warning before it hit), right up in till it was tanking the stock market. This gross inaction led to a lot of lockdowns that greatly hurt our nation’s logistics. When the lockdowns ended in 2021 the still hurt logistics could not keep up with the consumer demand which led to price hikes across the board (this would have happened if trump was still president as well).

That's the thing. With every presidency, we can talk about how various numbers are up or down during their presidency, but unless you can connect the number to direct things the president has done, you really can't say there's any relation.
And to Jon Stewart's point, when it comes to economic numbers, the numbers mean nothing if not compared to the world economy. If the whole world is doing badly, the problem probably isn't the president. In this particular case, every one of those numbers can be tied to events happening around the world that are outside of Biden's control. AND you can pinpoint many actions Biden has taken to fix those things that have been blocked either by the Republican majority in congress, Joe Mansion & Kristen Cinema previously, the Conservative Supreme Court. Not to mention, Biden has been successful in many other actions that do have us doing better on many statistics compared to the rest of the world.
When judging a presidents ability to do the job, those details matter.
You can say I'm bad at MY job because your life has been worse since I started my job... It's meaningless if you can't explain what I did to make your life worse.

As a european I remember Trump's denial of the pandemic situation leading to a complete disaster , I'll never forget when I saw the refrigerated trucks full of corpses in front of hospitals , mass grave in Harth Island , I couldn' believe it was happening in the richest country in the world and why so many americans were dying every day, and he never never took responsibilities for this complete disaster and he dared to take credit of the Covid vaccine in one of his last interview.

Exactly. Pandemic started in late February 2020, and Trump was out less than a year later. The consequences of everything Trump did or didn't do in those 11 months were what Biden inherited, and the right now blames on him.

@@ReZaReKtA340Thank you sir for your great insight "as a European" about what happened in America. Im sure it is far more accurate than anything I experienced here "as an American" IN America.
