    I'm 65 years old and have been a very serious pursuit of my Lord for 25 years. This is the most profound deep helpful words I have ever heard. Not John MacArthur not John Piper, I've listened to thousands of sermons... Thank God for Rich...
    God took rich and he was no more.

    Rich Mullins has his ups and downs, yet you never give up! He strive to be like Christ and his heart was on Fire for the lord! If we just humble our self's and seek him and never give up and repent and turn from our ways, God will hear us from Heaven and heal our land. Thank the lord for Rich and his Family, blessings to all that read this.

    I love how this video begins with a little glimpse into Rich's nervous energy. He was no doubt an active listener. I'm so glad I saw him in concert back in 1994, but do I ever miss him! Just when I thought I'd seen all the available Rich Mullins interviews... Thank you for posting this.

    Don't worry about hurting. This is how badly God wants you. ....when we find God we are freed...it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Joy doesn't come from substances, worldly wealth, joy comes from God. Set yourselves free from those that would impede your freedom. Rich Mullins

  • @davegilbertson

    I love that he's asked a somewhat softball youthgroup sounding question, he proceeds to hear the nugget of true longing in the question, and answers with 6 minute deep, heartfelt exploration of a painful wrestle with God, and then ends with "did that answer your question, did that make any sense?"

    • @JustJeph33
      @JustJeph33 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Cuz he loved people so much he wanted to help them any way he could. The music helped tremendously with that. Many times only a song can get it across...

    • @yvettechacha1
      @yvettechacha1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      👆This 💯. And it's funny how after he asked if it answered the question the guy said "yeah, especially the Buechner stuff." We miss it so often when someone tries to call us to a deeper vulnerability. Sometimes it takes mulling over it later to really understand what was being offered.

    I could listen to Rich speak all day. He's been a lifeline for me and I know well the pain that he was speaking of. Now I'm working on the Joy thing, but it's a task, and I must remember that it's a journey and not a sprint.
    For anyone who is going through the depression that Rich Mullins speaks of, I have found that the Franciscan University Presents, a Catholic Guide to Depression, is a powerful tool for the journey Home 👍
    Dr Scott Hahn and the panel of folks do a excellent job at looking at depression and giving helpful information to those who are dealing with it.
    Anyone in recovery should find it very helpful.

    I'm almost in tears because this message from Rich wasn't something I was looking for on youtube. How amazing God is when He speaks to me through His kids. I've filled that loneliness, even after being saved, I've been nothing but a wishy washy christian. This from Rich (what a precious man he was, it's our loss but heaven's gain) can change my life if I will only practice it. With God's help, and His people, I will finally fill those empty places in my heart, and life💕💕💕🙏🙏🙏

    What a treat to hear such a genuine , honest artist that relates to humanity as one of us regular people...of all the artists I've ever seen interviewed ( Christian or secular ) Rich just seems to be the most humble , knowledgeable and yet personable at the same time. I truly look forward to seeing him at the great reunion of the wedding supper of the Lamb...Christians NEVER say "goodbye" - it's always "see you later"...PRAISE GOD !!!

    This has been a struggle for me. Giving up the idols and what I call the sedatives, giving them up to follow him often has put me in panic or deep depression but I know it's just for a season and it's not just about giving up that stuff but mainly taking hold of him and sowing to the spirit, getting into the word. He showed me that the agony is actually birth pains and he will instruct me all the way through it and to the other side. He is really who I am craving all along. Another trick is to quickly go back to him when I fail. Grace allows this.
