There will never be another Rich Mullins. He fed my spirit like no other. His music was the best contemporary music that I have ever heard. I remember the exact time and place where I was when I found out that he was gone to our father in Heaven. It was a Sunday morning and I was in church. My spirit was greatly saddened. He blessed us all soo very much ✝️🙏🏻😇

He wasn't CCM and was repulsed by that 4 year old Sunday Schhol theology.

As a missionary who has lived overseas for 18 years this hits home. Since we came back in 2020 for just 3 months we realized we could not go back to the Philippines. It's been almost 2 years now that we have been unable to travel back. I am so grateful that we are not home yet.

This is the day our Lord has made let us be GLAD and REJOICE IN IT. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit is satisfying, and not drudgery, depression or loneliness but the place of peace and JOY UNSPEAKABLE. Sad that anyone would paint walking with God as a downer like holding your breath. I've heard interviews where Rich said God told him that he was sickening to God and that God said Rich could not stop (his secret sin). The Word says I CAN DO ALL THINGS thru Christ Jesus. Also the Word says we will not be tempted beyond what we could bear. That was not the Lord saying that to him. We make choices and have free will whether to sin. Important not to put "celebrities" on pedestals and hang onto their words (experiences) and give a celeb's word more credence than the powerful, freeing Word of God. When we do this to public figures, it can make them think they are not free to seek help for their hurts and secret sins or to know that Christ is Joy. the Lord has a sense of humour and to is the lifter of our head. "Study to show THYSELF approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed , rightly dividing the word of truth" 2 Tim 2:15. Celebs are just as human as the rest of us and need encouragement, guidance prayer and sometimes correction too rather than being made to feel they have to be the source of all the answers and wisdom. Christ is the source. Christ is JOY xx

So touching. My guess is, he was referring to himself as the person arguing with the anthropologist. He just wanted to put it in a different perspective to touch our hearts even more. Rich Mullins truly has the Holy Spirit within him.

No, Rev. J. Russell Morse was a real person, a well-known missionary whom Rich heard about at Cincinnati Bible College. Rev. Morse and his family spent over 50 years as a missionary in China, Burma and Tibet. He was imprisoned in China in 1951 for 15 months and was accused of being a spy with 31 other Americans living in the region. Morse was awarded a belated "civilian" Bronze star at Tinker Air Force Base in recognition for his helping U.S. airmen shot down by the Japanese during WWII. He died in Joplin, Missouri in 1991 at the age of 92. Members of Rev. Morse's family attended Cincinnati Bible College and Rich and his classmates undoubtedly heard the story of the heroic "Mr. Morse" many times. Rich enjoyed retelling his story in his concerts.

@@amyschlegel1180 Wow, thank you for sharing that story. I feel bad now that it looks like I misspelled his name in the video. But I heard about Morse from this audio and his portrayal in the Ragamuffin film and was very moved by his story. If I remember correctly, didn't Morse's son play his father in the film as well?

@@pizzamuffin8190 You are thinking of a different person altogether. Rev. Maurice Howard (whose first name was pronounced Morris) was the father of Rich’s college friend Sam Howard. Maurice Howard was not a missionary. He was the pastor of a church in Wichita Kansas, and he was a mentor to Rich for a short time. Sam Howard did play the role of his father Maurice in the movie Ragamuffin. Maurice Howard was not the “Mr. Morse” of Rich’s story about the missionary.

It was so obvious that he wasn't in it for the money, in fact it's common knowledge that he gave most of his earning to charities and only kept enough to live on, but that he did all this for his love for God. I confess that several years ago I developed into a bit of a Christian music snob in that in my opinion, too much of it is done "in Jesus name" simply to make a buck. I praise my God for giving us Rich, even for just a little while so that I could have the opportunity to see and hear how much God loves me and wants to have a relationship with me.
