    Red tiger lotus surrounded by crypts looks fantastic. The varieties you mentioned are perfect
    for the planted aquarium.

    Some personal experience: my crypts are planted in a sandy substrate. No artificial light, no added co2, no nutrients (aside from natural debris). They stay alive and healthy, they just don't really grow larger than they are. I don't really mind cause I have no maintenance to do on them whatsoever, and my tank is more about the fish than plants anyway. So you CAN have them under pretty barren circumstances, but if you really want them to florish you'll definitely need to use nutrients and/or co2. Hope this helps someone :)

      ***** And be advised that their root system spreads throughout your entire tank, so they're not plants that are easily (re)moved once planted. I've seen offshoots sprout out on the other side of my tank.

    hey how do you keep your sand clean and nutrient supplemented for plant growth? i'm currently having issues with Blue-green algae on the surface of the sand and i'm using flourish tabs to help supply the plants with sufficient nutrients

    Hi! Very good and useful tips! But I got a question ... I bought "green" mixed cryptocoryne plants and after a few months they like tra stormed and turned out to be more brown-ish colour and those leaves got shorter. I don't know what to do...? Please help ;)
    1:05 (they looked like that in the beginning)

    A great easy to keep plant. I've had great success with c.wendtii in both Eco-complete and dirt substrate with and without co2 injection. To me it looks very prehistoric, like a mini version of plants that would've been around when the dinosaurs were alive.

    Can they be used to carpet a large space and to fill up large gaps within my jungle val and amazon swords ?

    • @MrJacobCastro
      @MrJacobCastro  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutly. They carpet very well. They'll quickly grow into a little patch in your tank and a over time the rest of your substrate will be covered. Thanks for watching! :)

    Undoubtedly my most favourite plant ever requiring very little maintenance. I have wendtii green, brown and beckettii in my two tanks. Perfect for discus tanks due to their ability to stand high temps, low maintenance and nutrients loving roots breaking down the waste. Great video bro... please check my two tanks. Your opinion would be much appreciated.

    What crypt would you recommend for mid-ground behind a carpet of Dwaft Sag?(low-tech tank)

    • @MrJacobCastro
      @MrJacobCastro  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheEmbors Crypt Wendtii Green or Brown would be perfect for you. I recommend those. Thanks for watching :)

    • @TheEmbors
      @TheEmbors 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wendtii Brown wouldn't need Co2 or Ferts? I dose Flourish but that's it. I thought I would need to dose Iron for Wendtii Brown?

    • @MrJacobCastro
      @MrJacobCastro  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheEmbors Any and all plants will benefit someway in a high nutrient environment. It doesn't mean you HAVE to dose them. Some plants like Crypt Wen. Brown will grow fine without nutrient dosing.

      Thanks for replying to me! BTW, as someone who spends hours looking for online plant suppliers, You're company is awesome. The website looks fantastic, and the prices are really unbeatable. I will be shopping with you soon!
      One thing though, I wish you had a more in-depth description on your plants on the website. I had to do more research on google about plants because your website did not have the details I needed.
      Keep up the good work Jacob!
