Great filming and looks like this was an awesome adventure! I had similar experience at a NAPA where I needed something right after they closed but the guy hooked it up haha.
Awesome trip, just wish I could could be part of an adventure trip, I have the vehicle to do it, but not the people to do it with. Be safe out there, God bless.
That is an incredible comment! Thank you so much and I wish I saw this earlier. It's crazy to me the little amount of camera gear we brought on this trip and were able to capture what we got. We have invested so much into my media business that future videos should be even better! I really appreciate you watching!
I don't know why these videos don't show up in my feed......youtube startin to anger me. almost missed out on this. i was telling someone about your channel and looked it up and saw this video from ten days ago.....i almost lost my shit!!!!
Great video I've watched a few of your videos today and I honestly been waiting to do same for long time thought about getting a 4x4 van or building one but after your videos immediately think a smaller vehicle be best so for months actually been debating on doing a 4x4 sas swap on my s10 I think it be good and watching your videos gives me does and don't ideas either way something I'm really wanting to do
This is funny being FROM Colorado and living in washington seeing washington natives in Colorado enjoying all the places i grew up with is awesome. Some of those mountain passes were once railroad grades on the Denver Southpark and Pacific (DSP&P)RR others were southern Pacific RR and some were Denver & Rio Grand RR my grandpa was an engineer for D&RGW RR and ran trains over those passes .... theres a great book about the mtn passes and the DS&PPRR called "Goin Rail Roading" i think the authors name was cole its very interesting history of the area and a bio of a RR engineer
@TaylorGibleroffroad i wish my grandpa was still around to tell the stories about running steam engines through the rockies youd get a kick out of some of his tales lol
Awesome trip an epic cinematography. I’m guessing that the High speed water crossings probably stirred up a lot of gravel and mud and got lodged in the brakes causing the rotor and pad damage. ZR2 performed well it looks like. I have a long bed Z71 with the Duramax. I’d like to get out on some easy adventures in it this summer.
I likely missed it due to focusing in on the wonderful scenery. But how many days did it take? I have the Colorado BDR saved in Gaia and we'd love to do it one day.
The type of driving you do, I would highly recommend premium rotors and because of the type of train you do I would highly recommend carbon fiber, ceramic brick pads. But just because you have grooves in your rotor, you will be perfectly fine. More than likely you got some debris stuck between your pads in your rotor which caused the grooving in your rotor. As long as you have plenty of pads on your brake pad, he will be perfectly fine.
Definitely! I plan to replace them with something really nice! Pads were toast though😂 I just replaced em with some off the shelf stuff that’ll get me by until I get some nicer stuff!
I’m going to watch the rest of this. I’m sure it’ll be great footage and I’ll probably end up doing the same trip if I’m fortunate enough. But I must say that the casual and excessive use of words like “explore” and “conquer” by us overlanders when traveling WELL TRODDEN and maintained roads with satellite maps and tons of info ahead of time just doesn’t sit well with me. We’re not exactly James Cameron exploring the deepest part of the ocean or Neil Armstrong or the first Polynesians sailing to Hawai’i. Maybe we can just turn down our grandiose language a notch or two. Your life you do what you want with it, obviously. But there is a comment section and all engagement is good for the channel right? So this is my contribution 🤙🏽
There's literally BILLIONS of people right now who are born, live, and die, within 20 miles. Billions of people who couldn't dream of such trips. Apartment dwellers in Chicago, poor in many many countries. These people in these videos, and people like them are truly in the top .0001% of human experience and you point to a hand full of .0000001% explorers as the "real" ones. Absurd !! I absolutely 100% guarantee you many many many humans in our future will look to us as the "lucky" few explorers that traveled this earth. Cars, and unencumbered pleasure travel is but a blink of human time, and will be snuffed out very soon. Enjoy it, enjoy watching it.
Looks like fun! Just some friendly tips on the video production…I would recommend editing the b-roll down farther and not using slow-mo so much. And you’ll want to increase the ratio of commentary/conversation. Long stretches of film without someone speaking begins to feel like a music video. Your camerawork and compositions however are well done. Keep it up! And the best of luck on growing your channel!
Thanks. I think everyone’s style certainly differs. I believe in media production, everyone should certainly rely on their own style when producing their own films. Similar to artwork. When I work with clients, I lean into producing their vision. But when it’s mine, I want it to feel like it’s mine.
Quit trying to recruit me, creep! But to be fair, I got a great deal on a lawnmower there. It didn’t run. The guy hadn’t turned the fuel valve on. I turned it on and it runs great!
Broke out the thesaurus for this one lol
This comment wins!

What month did you all do the Colorado BDR?
September!

What a riveting drama

Do you feel like this route can be accomplished without lockers?
Haha, you can do it in a Subaru. The route is designed for motorcycles, though the narrator doesn’t mention that.
Nice

Soft roading with open diffs? Too much filler, not enough content.
