Goyer said that because that's where it was at the time. Trying to revive Tim Burton's Batman and Richard Donner's Superman after forever and robin was a bad idea. The latest movie we got was not situated that way. Just bad timing, surrounded by marvel movie loving cunts, internet hacks, know-it-all bull shits and sjws 😁
I think the whole thing about toy bees and Joker clones is what kills this. I love the idea of Batman almost achieving peace and having it snatched from him at the last minute ala Mask of the Phantasm, but this ain't the real pig.
It seemed to start well, and the ending could've been interesting, but it was just filled with convolution out the ass between those points. I like the idea of Superman not drinking alcohol, though, it shows him as more childish or wanting to stay pure or kind or something. I dunno, symbolism, I guess.
Why I like the 2002 "Asylum" script better than the movie we got: - It embraces the comic tone and balances the darker tone. - Batman and Superman reasons to fight is more clear. - Lex Luthor is comic accurate and not Jesse Isenberg's version. - The Joker is a faithful version than Jated Leto's and more like Mark Hamil. - The fight scene was much cooler. - Colin Farrell would've been a casted as Batman. And Christian Bale was also considered to be Superman as well. Good choices. - There's no politician arguments scenes. - No forced religious subtexts. - Doesn't rush to set a cinematic universe in one movie. - Not overthinking the plot - No Pee Pee jar - Batman doesn't kill and learns at the end why he shouldn't kill. - Superman doesn't die at the end. - Lois Lane doesn't take up half the movie's screentime. - Nice nods and references to the prior movies and comics. - And more importantly, NO "MARTHA!"
I feel this would’ve had a similar tone to other 2004 CBM like The Punisher, Hellboy and Blade Trinity. I know for a fact that people would’ve ate it up as the most badass film in the late 2000s in early days of TH-cam with tributes playing “Let the Bodies Hit the Floor” or “Wake Me Up” in their videos. And perhaps be resurrected as an underappreciated film they grew up with. Like, if people are now defending Fantastic Four, Hulk and Catwoman, it’s very likely this film would’ve gained a fanbase. Also, the plot is nowhere near as convoluted as Lex’s plan in BvS. I’ll take Lex making a unstably broken Batman snapping so Superman to stop him over… [Insert Lex’s plan from BvS Honest Trailer vid]
While some aspects like the dialogue sounded pretty cool and dark (like Bruce talking about the increasing temptation to kill criminals in an act of revenge instead of justice) I'm glad we didn't get this movie because then we never would've gotten Nolan's Batman trilogy
This movie actually sounded a lot better than BvS, but everything fell apart for me when The Joker Clone entered the fight and then Lex Luthor and that final line at the end from Batman. I think Lex Luthor’s plan was far more understandable (and no Doomsday) in this movie than the plan used in BvS
Yea I kind of agree. Starts out decent but the Joker clones and fabricated perfect girl were just weird. If they had just made Bruce’s wife a regular girl he fell in love with and Joker having lived just hiding it could have been good. No superpowered henchmen either but could leave Lex in his mecharmor as it is kind of iconic and would have fit the time. Just make it a movie where Lex and Joker team up and manipulate the two and end with the fight between Batman and Superman then the two teaming up to stop Lex and Joker. That would have been great, kind of a cross between this script and World’s Finest from the Superman animated series.
My only justification for the joker clone is that if this is indeed the Tim burton batman then yeah he totally died in that movie and would need to be cloned
Just make it that it was actually the Robin that "died". Have some flashback or something where the Joker used some new Joker gas or something on him before dying and then Robin "died" but actually went crazy and went underground for a few years before popping back up as the new Joker

Batman and Superman VS Aliens and Predators Your comment reminded me of it, and I thought you'd like to know that was a thing that exists in the real world.
They would be great tag-team partners. Predator gets the spines, Batman gets the skins. Nothing of the victims goes to waste. I think Batman thinks of himself as Buffalo Bill. Probably spending time in Wayne Manors with Dick tucked between his thighs while collecting human skin for his new cape.
The Sean Ward Show the goat's influence is noticeable especially when he says "the perfect woman" but because he read that from the script I see it as his own thing, thank God for bad and lazy writing
I like that this movie acknowledged that they've known each other for years whereas the movie we actually got even though they portrayed an older Bruce Wayne has them never meeting until they fight. So from that standpoint I definitely prefer the premise of the film not made. And having luthor use the joker to set off Batman makes perfect sense. Also the only person luthor has ever acknowledged as possibly being smarter than him is Batman. So makes sense he'd try to get him to take out superman. Now having said that we all know a good premise doesn't always translate on film. So who knows???
Not only does this movie sounds worse than the BvS that we got, this feels more like a toy selling scheme than a movie. I can picture Superman, Batman, two superpowered henchman, Joker, Lex Luthor and his armor all at a shelf with maybe the dickhead co worker as a bonus

Wham-A-Wham that's exactly what I said when I left BvS. It fell as if Zack ripped a couple of pages from the DKR, DoS and some random New 52 shit and used that as the storyboard for the movie
Wham-A-Wham jesus no. The movie had a couple of great scenes but all the nonsense completely overshadows it. If you took out all the dumb "muh universe" and dumb subplots from the movie and rework the entire 3rd act you could have something better but alas here we are Ps. Apparently Justice League isn't great but isn't BvS and SS levels of bad. I'm gonna wait for the release of the movie to see more if they can convince me to watch it or not
Big fan of the videos...but it seems very misleading to point out Akiva Goldsman's worst credits without pointing out he won a screenwriting Oscar in 2002. His selection makes a lot more sense in light of his Oscar win. Likewise I'm not sure the intent in only listing "The Never Ending Story" as what Wolfgang Peterson was known for, but he'd done a series of hit movies throughout the 90s including the action blockbuster Air Force One. I know it plays for an amusing moment to present WB as wanting a Batman Vs Superman movie written by the writer of Batman & Robin and directed by the guy who gave us the weird german fantasy film The NeverEnding Story, BUT it's far more likely that the WB executives were thinking from, "Oscar winning Akiva Goldsman and the director of action hits such as Air Force One." But a more holistic perspective on their selection is that WB seemed to ignore their faults and focused on their highlights. Your summary seemed to focus on their faults and ignored their highlights.
The works of Oscar-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman: Batman & Robin, Lost in Space, A Beautiful Mind (Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay!!!), The Da Vinci Code, I Am Legend, Angels & Demons, Winter's Tale, The Divergent Series: Insurgent, The 5th Wave, Rings, Transformers: The Last Knight, The Dark Tower. 💩💩🏆💩💩💩

I really liked the dialogue of Batman explaining that he is exhausted from the justice because it's our weakness " a human thing" but over the plot feels ok. I think Zack Snyder made a great vision to portrayed these to comic book icons we actually saw the DC trinity Batman Superman wonder woman which once in a life time experience . I like the cancelled script but the actual movie that Zack brought us is even better
Youre right about it being really hard to tell whether or not a movie would be any good after reading a script. I think this could've been made into a pretty good movie with some tweaking. The plot is needlessly complex, which is a common problem with bad writers who try to be clever. Then again, it's tough to come up with a reason for Batman and Superman to fight each other, despite what a lot of people think. They're best friends, and even if they weren't, they're both heroes who ultimately have the same goals.
How could anyone dislike this video? I love your channel so much. Also I think the final line should of been, “sounds nice.” Or something like that. Showing that Batman is the friend he’s always been missing. The actual line sounds kinda mean and out of character
Hunter C Actually I kinda like it, it just needs to be said in a more joking tone, like he chuckles while saying it. Shows that they're friends, but still tonal opposites.
Dude I stumbled upon your channel looking for information about this movie because I remember hearing about it as a kid... your summary at the end with all the footage and everything made me feel as if I saw this movie for real. Instantly subscribed. Keep it up man. I love it
BvS also established Superman as a killer in his very first scene, so... I don’t see how that works either. All around, I think I prefer the broad strokes of this script more, and I also like the third act described as it doesn’t revolve around Marthas. Batman is a hell of a lot more understandable, and actually has a no-killing rule. It just seems more faithful and less dull.
acekianno velasco No. That would be as equally silly as leaving out that he’d just won an Oscar. The video makes it seem like WB was making bizarre picks by selecting a guy who’s ONLY written bad scripts and they got a director ONLY known for a German fantasy film in the 80s That’s a terrible mid-characterization if both of their resumes at the time. One had just won an Oscar and the other had a series of hits in the 90s. That sort holistic perspective is kind of assumed to be present in videos like this
I mean, I was shocked to see him mention Neverending Story as his biggest credit. What about Das Boot? Maybe not a huge box office success or that popular among kids/young adults but a huge critical success. What about In the Line of Fire? Outbreak? Air Force One? And of course The Perfect Storm and Troy like you mentioned. Although I think Peterson got attached as director in 2001 which was before Troy.
Honestly, I think Batman Begins and Superman Returns should’ve led up to Batman v Superman. Bale and Routh were the perfect age to build a shared universe off for the next decade plus.
This cancelled movie sounds better than the Batman v Superman movie we got in 2016. But if this movie came out, we prob wouldn’t get The Dark Knight in 2008.
I actually like the sound of this film MUCH MORE than what we got!!! This actually seems like an awesome flick!!! I would have thoroughly loved this. This would have been much more like what we got in the comics, and it's a good way to incorporate the villains, etc. And it is such a better way to make them fight each other than that lame idea from 'Dawn of Justice'.
1:47 Wolfgang Petersen’s "biggest credit at the time" was not The Neverending Story. By the early 2000s he had directed In the Line of Fire, Outbreak, Air Force One and Troy.
you edit that, oh my God what is it with you, so perfectly I thought I was actually watching a small glimpse of the recording of that movie. I give you credit 👍👌
Here's my take -The film is received with mixed reviews saying the movie is dark, but nice -Despite this the film makes a good profit -Due to this film the Dark Knight trilogy does not happen -Same with superman returns -A sequel gets planned but cancelled -Because of that, it's possible that Justice league: Mortal will happen most Likely not connected to the previous films -WB will start a cinematic universe, beating Marvel
Batman vs. Superman was supposed to be released in 2010 with Christian Bale vs. Brandon Routh. Batman Begins was released in 2005 and Superman Returns was released in 2006.
I think that this movie would have been great if they had used Bale as Batman and Routh as Superman, it would be awesome to see those two on the big screen as Bats and Supes. This movie would´ve been better than the 2016 BvS, no doubt.

I think I would have liked this movie. I actually think if Batman vs Superman came out in the mid 00s it would have been more popular than the one we ultimately got.
I think this would've been awesome.......but, unlike most people, I loved BvS. I like the grittiness and dark edge as opposed to the Marvel silliness, but that's my own taste.
It sounded amazing! I think it would have been dope! It’s a true Batman story. If they keep softening Batman and joker up it defeats the purpose to even make comic book movies. The villains and some hero’s are psychopaths so blood and gore come with the territory.

Pro: I'd have watched, I'd still watch it.
Con: it may have cost us the dark knight trilogy.
lets start a petition to get "batman and superman talk out their differences" made
This seems like it would’ve been really good
10:09 that popped kettle-corn line had me dyin'
i really enjoyed the script but the bee and the granite parts were a little silly
At least Batman doesn’t actually kill anyone like in Batman V Superman. It’s the exact same fucking movie
How you be makin dem videoes so good?
By the early 2000s he had directed In the Line of Fire, Outbreak, Air Force One and Troy.
out of all those Never Ending Story is the one I remember most from my childhood.
A better story than the one we got in theaters
Holy crap that short speech Bruce gave about retiring from crime fighting was just perfect
To me this actually sounds good except the bee part
If Elizabeth had a can of Raid, Lex's plan would have fallen completely apart.
you edit that, oh my God what is it with you, so perfectly I thought I was actually watching a small glimpse of the recording of that movie.
I give you credit 👍👌
this Batman reminds me of Kevin Conroy's Batman in The DC Arrowverse
That movie sounds like it would've been way better than Batman vs Superman Dawn Of Justice
I like this script, it got a bit choppy.... But it has a gritty feel. I just like grit
Not gonna lie this is my 5th watching this video; you just have an entertaining voice. Idk, I just like the way you do your videos lol.
+TheIndigenousRex Hell yea dude! Thanks!
I enjoyed this a lot. Maybe in another universe.
Like, the Pattinson universe?
I dont think i would have liked this film but im glad to know it exists.
Here's my take
-The film is received with mixed reviews saying the movie is dark, but nice
-Despite this the film makes a good profit
-Due to this film the Dark Knight trilogy does not happen
-Same with superman returns
-A sequel gets planned but cancelled
-Because of that, it's possible that Justice league: Mortal will happen most Likely not connected to the previous films
-WB will start a cinematic universe, beating Marvel
Your prediction of what coulda happened if they actually made this film is quite accurate mane, one luh ❤✊🏿
the idea for that movie would've been way better than the one we have.
So Goyer has indirectly admitted that he's a sellout / hack as a screenwriter? Heh.
nothus I cant believe they still hire that dude.
I don't like the Goyer version of Batman v Superman but I do love the Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman Ultimate Cut that we got.
sounded dope to me. I always enjoyed the darker side of comic book characters.
Would have loved to see a dark Knight style Batman going up against a Superman Returns style Supes.
I would’ve liked this much more than the one we got
I remember hearing about this years ago and it's hilarious how similar some aspects are to the BVS we actually got.
I remember seeing the logo in the movie i am legend
I've always imagined that the version they got in that Reality starred Christopher Reeve and Michael Keaton.
Just found your channel....it’s great, thank you so much for all the hard work....
Only if it wouldv been micheal keaton and christopher reeves
Tbh, on my opinion , I would’ve love this film a lot 😂
7:15 "But the Joker is DEEEEAAD! You said he was DEEEEAAAAAADDD!"

Wasn't there a cancelled Wonder Woman tv show with Adrianne Palicki?
Kubrick's Napoleon
Terry Gilliam’s Watchmen, Daren Aronofsky’s Batman: Year One, The Justin Hartley Aquaman show, the Daredevil reboot from Fox, Quentin Tarantino’s Luke Cage, Ghostbusters III, Batman Triumphant.
LOTR with the Beatles
Some of the cancelled Alien or Predator Projects!
I was pretty happy with Batman V Superman Dawn Of Justice Ultimate Cut
I think this movie sounds great! I would have loved to have watched it.
Honestly if they went with Lorenzo’s plan… DC could’ve had a much better cinematic universe
I wonder who they would of casted as the joker and lex Luther
I think I would have liked this movie. I actually think if Batman vs Superman came out in the mid 00s it would have been more popular than the one we ultimately got.
this movie would have been better than the one we got!!!! :(
r u joking
True. I think lex plan here was more logical compare to lex in dawn of justice.
So, that explains the poster in I am legend
No Martha ? already a better movie!
Can you do a CutShort video for Tim Burton’s Batman 3?
I would prefer this from the one we got
No Martha in this one.
I feel like the final dialogue of this movie I had more character than all of dawn of justice
So True.
Do Aquaman & Wonder Woman tv pilots?
Lmao that Creed handstand at 8:20 came in out of nowhere hahaha
I think this would've been awesome.......but, unlike most people, I loved BvS.
I like the grittiness and dark edge as opposed to the Marvel silliness, but that's my own taste.
This movie would've been trash, it's good that it wasn't made. Spider-Man 2 would've crushed it at the box office.
It sounded amazing! I think it would have been dope! It’s a true Batman story. If they keep softening Batman and joker up it defeats the purpose to even make comic book movies. The villains and some hero’s are psychopaths so blood and gore come with the territory.
God job! I was wondering if you are planning to do a video about the cancelled movie of resident evil. The one that George Romero pitched to Capcom.
You won't see this but I would have loved it!!! Not as much as this channel tho one change to the script though Grayson lives leaves Gotham Jason dies
