With drop swap i think you can either just blend both tracks together until the drop comes and then fade out one of the songs maybe using some eqs you can also add fx to this songs like reverb etc, you can even make loops or tighten loops, maybe you can even backspin it and depending on the song can have vocals or not vocals, or other option would be instead of blending you can just replace one drop with the other before it hits. But i think that you still have to be mindful of the song you replace it with that it sounds exciting or maybe just that fits well. You can change of genre but not always i think is gonna sound as clean as smooth as if it is the same genre but i think it is a good way to change of genre as well you can also be aware of the bpm as well.
Love the vid mate ❤ I have a question is it ok to jump from key to key if they are compatible in a set of 1a right through to 12a or would you stick to a couple of different compatible keys like 1a 2a etc
If it's not stacking kick drums or bass notes you can have lows from both, to keep the mix sounding full when the bass lines aren't stacking. You can hear in his mix it still sounds good, so the no double low end rule isn't absolute. I use lows on both quite often, if the bass lines are complimentary or when its mostly ambience on one or both of the tracks
experienced a well known uk club dj that kept swapping the drops of absolute classic bangers and you could see everyone getting pissed off - once he had done his set, the house dj came back on to finish the night off and let all the bangers play out. tldr; sometimes people don’t care about your endless skilz, just play the track
Did you even watch the video before commenting? He says to be careful to swap with an even better drop or do it the second drop in order not to piss people off.

Took your course and I’ve been posting mixes on my channel for a year now, you’re a great teacher!🙏
