- Wigan - Liverpool - Chester | Circular Route (03/03/23). I was in the mood to do another circular route, and this one was made extra fun by rides on the new Merseyrail 777 and TfW 197.

Went to Britain for first time last November. One of the highlights of my trip was the train rides. Flew into Manchester, took a train to llandudno, then to liverpool through chester. Most beautiful countryside on earth in the 🇬🇧.

Great vlog G. Nice to see another circular route. I’m looking forward to trying the new 777 buzzy bees Myself and the 197s very soon. I do Like Chester I’ve been twice now most recently last year to cathedral for the Making Tracks Model Railway event and I remember walking along the canal myself lol. I enjoyed watching as always.

This was yet another fantastic Vlog G this circular route was a brilliant choice of route you managed to travel on the new Mersey Rail Class 777s and the New TFW Class 197s Chester is a fantastic place to visit it’s a very quaint historical city I remember staying there for a few days many years ago I continue to enjoy watching your Vlogs G and I look forward to watching many more of your future Vlogs until then carry on being awesome keep up the good work take care and stay safe

I liked Wigan the couple of times I've been there...I enjoy the trips that both you and Jen on the move do as they bring back memories of when I was working in those areas and riding the rails. Loved that Merseyrail, I was quite impressed.

I did the Chester end of the Wirral line to the centre of Liverpool back in August when I went to Making Tracks 2 at Chester Cathedral, and can confirm, only half the trains stop at a couple of those stations, whereas all trains stop at the rest.
I'm looking forward to doing more MerseyRail when I go to Making Tracks 3 this summer, and hopefully sampling the 777s for the first time (and maybe riding a 197 for the first time too, depending on how long we stay there and how much rail travel we do).
Was hoping to do more London stations today, but the weather and the strikes put me off (although all services on my local line seem to be running)

Circular routes are fun to do. There are untold numbers of circular routes possible here in the Home Counties. I travelled around the Wirral before the PEPs arrived, must go back and travel on a "Buzzy Bee". Love the energy you show in your vlogs, jolly, fun and entertaining. Inspiration to us all. What a lovely day out, and you finally got to travel on a 777! I can see the Riverside Park from where I live by Otterspool on the other side of the river. I keep meaning to try the Transport for Wales Chester service from Lime Street via Runcorn, just for a change! :)

Hi G you should have walked to the port sunlight Gallery it's gorgeous in there. I was on jury juty this week at Liverpool crown court so went in on train from Maghull North and got my first ride on the new trains! Much quieter than the old ones especially underground.

Looking forward to the new Headbolt Lane Station being opened but it be annoying that once it opens, it takes away one of your accomplishments. until you visit it and reclaim the title. Also great you finally rode a Class 777 and a Class 197. Great Video G

I'm a lover of circular trips too. Last week I did Beeston - Warrington outward via Derby & Crewe, home vis Manchester & Sheffield.
Manchester is a wonderful place it's where i am from..
Here is a quick one for you (excuse the pun!) St Pancras (or Stratford Intl) to St Pancras (or Stratford Intl) on the same train without alighting (you coudl if you wish) including a ride on HS1, the fastest track in the UK. This service runs as a loop and includes highlights like the tunnel between Dover & Folkestone, riding past Samphire Hoe (reclaimed land made with spoil from the Channel Tunnel) projecting out into the sea and of course Dreamland in Margate.

Perhaps you should do the Manchester circular with using National Rail, Metrolink and buses. And I can’t wait to see the new Headbolt Lane station and the new Class 777 Metro running on battery power between Kirkby and Headbolt Lane.
Plus the announcement on the TfW Class 197 Civity that have the Welsh announcements is it’s quite funny to hear those announcements in Welsh. 😂

It's great to see you did another circular route G. It's good to see you've even after doing them stationary, managed to have a ride on the class 777's and the class 197's. That Merseyrail voice on the 777 you went on sounds different but still sounds like it's Julie Berry to me. I'm hoping to ride the 777's myself soon now that more are in service. :)

Hiya G just a quick question tbh have you ever thought about or tried going on a special charter type diesel trip. Plenty start from your area of uk and will take via routes (sorry not so much get off and on) stations
I have be Parbold from Wigan Wallgate a couple of times, Did you know Hindley Train station is shut til Jun / Jul? Anyway catch you soon G 🙂
