Doesn't work with snow, and all the subsequent sand & salt grime that's on the roads until spring, so for 4-6 months the paint's hidden & useless. I agree with your point though. It is definitely not parking in all jurisdictions, but it is also not driving. Thusly, it shouldn't be considered distracted driving otherwise anyone in a cell lot at an airport with there car running would be considered distracted driving. If accurate, would they also be considered to be driving while talking on the phone, too?

I arrived back to my car at 5:40pm and found a ticket on my car. The time was written up as 6:10 pm. The Meter Maid was still on the lot so I approached him with my receipt and asked why. He took the ticket from my hand and ripped it up and continued on. I took his name and license plate and called the city the next day. They took all my details and said they would call me back. Recently in Cash Grab Central where I reside, I got a $100 parking ticket because I parked in front of an ATM at a mall at 11 o'clock at night when the mall was closed. I was in the ATM all of 2 minutes but some goof working for the city driving by went out of his way to turn into the mall just to ticket me. Not a car or person around anywhere. BUT it WILL go to the credit bureau and go against your credit/credit score and you will STILL owe for the private parking ticket! It just wont go against your license or plates on vehicle etc…. Always fight your tickets! I've had 4 tickets in the last decade and haven't paid any of them. I went to court and they had to prove I was guilty. Three times the ticket was thrown out because of highly confusing parking signs and the 4th was a speeding ticket (going 70km in a 60km zone). Since I contested the ticket the cop who gave it to me had to show up in court. He didn't show up so the ticket was again thrown out. He was handing out tickets using radar about 20 meters from the sign where the speed goes down. The judge looked disgusted when it was pointed out to her what he was doing so I think it's probably for the best that the cop wasn't there. He probably knew it and that's why he didn't show up. I've saved over $1000 over the years on tickets that I didn't deserve. Always fight your tickets. Unless you've got money to burn, in which case, send some my way please!

Upon our return, we found a ticket on our windshield and its time was second after we paid our parking spot. We had to contest it, waste of time. Judge dismissed it as if he was used to seeing these type of tickets.. Sometimes people don't have a way to find time to even go to court to contest it and have to pay for this..

Bylaw doesnt put the signage up but the transportation department does, the people who designate where these signs go dont really see where they are putting them, they just point on the map and say "there" whether it contradicts other bylaws aswell. our jobs as bylaw is to enforce that but no parking officer who has any sort of experience will give these kinds of BS tickets. these are mainly issues in big cities because parking officers have high turnover rates and are inexperience as to the ethics of the job

    Suggestions for solutions:
    1) Rules like not parking near a side walk or park near a fire hydrant shouldn't apply if a sign says you can park on the spot
    2) Required the CCTV cars to get pictures to prove the driver isn't sitting in the car and if the driver sits in the car set a time limit before the car is considered parked with the requirement that they need to get atleast one more picture
    3) Anyone who wins a case in court for a faulty parking ticket should be entitled to 10 times (or another appropriate number) the sum of the parking ticket in compensation, then it wouldn't be beneficial to misuse the authority if the parking enforcement can expect atleast one of ten to challenge the case

I own a Security Company and one of my contracts is for my company to issue parking tickets for parking on one of my clients private parking lot. We issue several tickets per day Monday to Friday. The lot is well posted that it is private parking only and that tickets will be issued. People still feel they are entitled to park wherever they want to regardless. They will frequently confront my Officer and get really angry because they broke the rules.

19:38 or this one which if there is no difference between stopping and parking
then what about stopping (which apparently is the same as parking and apparently they don't care if there is still a driver in the car) at a red light or such? Wouldn't that then count as parking in the middle of the road (without even paying) so would people get fines/tickets for that too?

So, according to the guy at 7:34 the "curb cut out" denotes a legally recognised designated crosswalk. So does that mean that there's a legally recognised designated crosswalk at every single driveway entrance in that town?
Funny how it changed once it was brought into the light via the media.🤨

Got a ticket 20 yrs ago at the Longueuil metro station, for not locking my car doors. Later heard that Montreal was the car theft capitol of Canada. But going after the law abiding citizen is a backwards approach. As a day tourist who lived across the border in NY for many yrs, I came to Mtl often, as it's still my fav city to walk around in. But I haven't came as much since then, & certainly not until I got a different car, w/ a diff tag, as I was not about to pay it. I'm obsessive about locking the door, but this was one of those rare instances I didn't check.
