Looks great, glad the install wasn’t too difficult. Can’t wait for mine to come. It looks like I will be able to use my desired winch I’ll just have to relocate the control box. Unfortunately the winch you have won’t be back in stock until the end of June is what they said.
I might get the 12S version of your winch. The dimensions are the same and it’s only 4 pounds more. I like how the connections are made behind the winch and not on top like the Apex 12000. Also in stock.
@c_haines so here is a kit with the cables, lugs and heat shrink. You will still want to pick up some sleeving for the cables. This kit has CCA cables, if you want ofc cables it will cost a little more. amzn.to/3UMlNOn Here is some ofc cable without the lugs and heat shrink. amzn.to/4drMXRT I reused 2 of the cables that came with the winch and just moved them to the spots I needed to use longer cables and then built 2 more cables. Each one I think was 6 feet. So I had plenty of cable left over for spare. Hopefully that makes sense
I have a 2023 Colorado TrailBoss and I been looking for a winchmount for almost a year now. I saved this video for future reference. I have 589fab saved in my favs so by next spring I will have one of these on my truck. Thanks man, you made this job a whole lot easier.
Really nice install video, That bumper looks amazing and the fitment is fantastic. I love it! I am pretty sure the 589 Fab mini-fighter for the Canyon AT4x is what I am putting on my truck. Been waiting to see it on video before ordering. My only beef is why the gold/zinc fasteners, it looks strange to me. If the visible fasteners were black I'd prefer it. Might have to splurge on SS black oxide when I do my install. Or maybe just powdercoat the gold heads. Nice work Tony!
Thank you and ya if you don't care for the fasteners it shouldn't be to difficult to find black versions of the fasteners 👍 I think it will look amazing on the canyon as well
I’m gonna get this bumper, it looks amazing. So tired of all the plastic. Hey btw K&N came out with their Colorado canyon 23-24 Air Intake setup. Ordered mine on Amazon, it’s back ordered. 😩
Yes. The build quality and parts and great for the price. I've only used it once so far so I can't speak for long term use but so far I'm very happy with it. I have a video of a close up look at it also
VERY, VERY NICE. How much does the full kit and caboodle weigh when installed? is it needed or advisable to modify the coil overs in the front to manage the weight?
Thank you and I'm not sure on weight. With everything on it I'm just completely guessing around 130 to 150. And no the front shocks can handle the weight no problem
Hey Tony, I just installed this same bumper on my 23 Canyon AT4. I feel the additional weight really dropped the front end quite a bit. Was wondering if you installed a leveling kit afterwords on your truck and if so, do you recommend a specific kit?
Not bad at all. The big hole on the right next to the winch gets me straight to it. Now maybe if you have big bear paws it might be different but I don't have a problem. You can also clock most winch clutches to face forward which may help if you have larger hands
Hey Tony, when you mounted the winch relay on the fuse box cover, did you have to purchase longer wire for connecting to the winch and if so where did you get it from? OVS? Any hood clearance issues?
I had to but some longer cables. I switch some of the cables that were on the winch already putting the short cable where the long ones were and long ones where the short ones were. Then I needed 6 feet of my own cable for one of them. I always keep some on hand but this is what I usually buy. amzn.to/3LqnnQz No hood issues as long as you place it in the correct spot. It will be very close but no issue
There are 2 versions of this bumper in your video… I just noticed on my 6th play-through. Which did they end up going with? #1 the skid plate mounts to the factory locations and the bumper is separate. #2 (at 16:50) the skid plate is bolted to the bumper and the bumper mounts to the front skid plate locations. 2 looks like a PITA, but time line wise it looks like your final install was #1? I’d assume there was a revision during filming this and that my numbering system is backwards, but 589’s renders show #2. I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and literally just noticed this, so haven’t reached out to them, but I hope they went with #1.
The only difference was they had to do the skid plate seperate from the bumper bc of a cross member interference. Other then that it's all the same. I shot the intro with the original and then installed the revised bumper with the skid plate that mounts separately
Tony. I have a question. I asked 589 but have not got a response maybe ypu can help me. The winch I want is a sherpa brumby. 9500 lb but a bit longer than yours do you think this will fit?
This one is not designed for the zr2 but they do have one for the zr2 www.589fab.com/collections/bumpers-2023-2024-colorado-canyon/products/rallye-fighter-front-bumper-2023-24-colorado-zr2
My man is singlehandedly carrying the 3rd gen trailboss aftermarket content. Cant wait to get one!
Hahaha 👍👍👍
Finally .. a video showing how to take the bumper cover off, thanks man!
Ordered mine today for my 24 AT4X
Looks so good! Great install too!
Thank you!!!! You guys did an amazing job designing and building this bumper!!
Loving everything you are doing to you Colorado! Lots of great ideas for my 2024 Trail Boss.
Thank you. Really glad you enjoy.
I dig the bumper 🤘 looking good ! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks brother!! Can't wait to see your next couple of changes 👍

Thanks and ya its not to bad at all. Ohh dang sorry I didn't know they were out of stock on the winch.

@c_haines ohh very nice. Ya I like the connection location also. I didn't know they were the same size. Good to know.
I didn’t see them in the winch video but do you happen to have a link for the wires you used to go from the winch up to the battery?
@c_haines so here is a kit with the cables, lugs and heat shrink. You will still want to pick up some sleeving for the cables. This kit has CCA cables, if you want ofc cables it will cost a little more.

Hello again, Tony
Thank you for another Great Video 👍
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed 👍
Excited for mine to show up. Already got the baja designs and s-pod ready. Ordered a sherpa winch. I hope it fits 😅
Haha very nice. Ya I ordered my lights and winch in advance as well.
Coming along nicely Tony
Thank you

Agreed. I love this bumper. Ya I'll be picking up one of the intakes soon. Just in the middle of a big change on the truck right now
Nice job buddy
Thank you!
Are you happy with your OVS/Scar winch? Would you recommend it for the colorado/canyon platform?
Yes. The build quality and parts and great for the price. I've only used it once so far so I can't speak for long term use but so far I'm very happy with it. I have a video of a close up look at it also
Do you have a link for all the wire you used to run to the winch also how did you mount the the solenoid to the fuse box?
This is the cable I used you can order however much you need. amzn.to/4dj5zCN
I just drilled holes in the top of the lid and used small fasteners.
VERY, VERY NICE. How much does the full kit and caboodle weigh when installed? is it needed or advisable to modify the coil overs in the front to manage the weight?

It looks great too. Unrelated question...what did you do for your seats? Seat covers?
Thank you. I have katzkin reupholstry
Hey Tony, I just installed this same bumper on my 23 Canyon AT4. I feel the additional weight really dropped the front end quite a bit. Was wondering if you installed a leveling kit afterwords on your truck and if so, do you recommend a specific kit?
I already had a leveling kit on my truck. Cce has a great kit that's affordable
What do you think of the Auxbeam gang switch box? I ordered the 8 button switches for future lights.
Do these hookups for the lights void warranty?
I was looking for those battery L terminals but didn’t find them. Got a link?
Yes indeed. amzn.to/3wxTw4R
How is accessi g the winch clutch.
Not bad at all. The big hole on the right next to the winch gets me straight to it. Now maybe if you have big bear paws it might be different but I don't have a problem. You can also clock most winch clutches to face forward which may help if you have larger hands

Thank you. You do great work and great taste on awesome products. Your videos are very helpful to me on '24 Colorado Trail boss.
@jesserodriguez7244 thank you I really appreciate that. I'm glad you enjoy 👍
What lights and splitter did you use. I went to the link but couldn't figure out which ones. Much thanks
Diode Dynamics ssc3 if you can't find the splitter. It might be easier to call and ask them. 👍
Awesome man thank you

I was going to do a front bumper but the front facing camera is in the way. Did you move that at all or just lose the ability to use it ?
No it sits below the camera. With the bull bar on you can see it in the bottom of the camera. With the bull bar off you don't see any of the bumper.
What side steps did you install on your truck?
It is one of the factory oem side steps. Really the only design I actually liked.
Will this fit a 2024 colorado trail boss
Yes. It's the same exact truck 👍
by any chance the bull guard do not interrupt the view on the front camera???
No not really. You can see the top of the bull bar when the camera is on but you can still see
@@TonyTheTechnician Thank you so much for the answer!!!
How large of a winch can I install? Because the one I have in mind measures 20.8" x 6.5" x 10.24"."
You might want to contact them and see. I know some 12T fit but the solenoid box needs to be mounted in the engine bay.
@@TonyTheTechnician Thank you again! Dont quit your videos are very informative
@@androidwarrior8167 thank you. 👍
Can you reach the freespool lever and can you see your spool?
Yes you can
Tony. I have a question. I asked 589 but have not got a response maybe ypu can help me. The winch I want is a sherpa brumby. 9500 lb but a bit longer than yours do you think this will fit?
Will this work for the ZR2?!
No I don't believe so, just for non zr2 models
will this fit on a 2024 ZR2?
This one is not designed for the zr2 but they do have one for the zr2

Can you get this bumper without the lights?
I ordered my lights separately. If your are asking are they made without the light section then no I don't believe so
They have a 'No Lights - Cover Plate' option if you don't intend to mount any lights to the bumper.
@scadventures5969 thank you for that info!!! I was not aware of that.
@@TonyTheTechnician 👍
It looks great but I wish you would stand back and show your entire truck!
You looking to sell the front bumper cover? I want to do a front plate delete
that look Vair cool ❤❤🩹💯
