Nice! I’ve flown Emirates first class on the 777 several times on the route EWR-ATH and once on the A380 MXP-JFK. I’ve flown that route in business class several times. I’m not sure I would spend 60K points on such a short 3hrs flight when I can spend 102k on a 8-9 hrs flight and really have the total experience with the pijamas, the shower and the bar (A380 only). But hey if you have a lot MR points and you’re based in Miami why not right? I live in the NY area and I’m not Colombian so it would be hard to justify spending all those miles as I would have to buy another flight to catch this flight and buy another flight to get to my final destination as I doubt I’d be interested in spending time in Bogota. Hopefully you get to experience the A380 first class service at some point!
Te quería comentar un fun fact. I know Emirates doesn’t market this as a fifth freedom flight but rather as an extension of their Miami-Dubai flight but we know this is really a fifth freedom flight. What I find amusing is the cash price for these tickets. They average over 3k OW. Emirates has a Bangkok-Hong Kong flight which is around 3 hrs on the A380 that averages between 500-950 dollars. I wonder what goes into pricing? As they are basically the same length, one with definitely better hardware service and yet 3-5 times cheaper.
@@elvisjd710 agree! I think it's overpriced for the route length, even the Christchurch, New Zealand to Sydney, Australia in the A380 costs around $1000 in First Class. But it's a new route and-if I'm not wrong-the only flight with a real First Class product that travels to Bogota, which is probably affecting pricing, let's hope they'll make it better soon.
@@FlyingWithPoints true! That could be reason although I would imagine if the route becomes very popular with the high pricing I doubt they’d lower the prices. Anyways I’m glad you got to enjoy it even if it was only 3 hours. Do they offer the full menu on this short flight? Like caviar and everything else? I’d imagine they do.
@@elvisjd710 not the caviar part in my flight, which it's not too much of a deal for me personally, and I think it's because of time flying. For me it was enough with the champagne and high quality wines they had. Hope you had a great time in your previous flights with them.
@@FlyingWithPoints it makes sense. I do. Not when it comes to the food part. The FAs always tell me: “you don’t eat” 😅😅 but I get full with just the caviar and the mezze. I do ask them for pijamas for everyone in my family. We have at least 2-3 sets of pijamas each 😬😬. Sometimes it’s embarrassing, I get off the plane with 4 of their emirates gray first class bags filled with goodies 🫢
Thanks for your review, I enjoyed it! How did you manage to book the award flight for 2? I can only find availability for 1 person through Emirates their website
@@FlyingWithPoints The route I am specifically looking at is MIA - BOG Still can’t find any open dates though, do you happen to use a tool? Or did you just find it
se ve espectacular ese asiento, y la comida de primera !!!
