    A few weeks back we had this tournament in our school and we just lost the first set. Our opponent was 2 points away from taking the second set up until I was at the service line. I just want to thank you coach donny for this tutorial because it was a huge help for us winning the 2nd and 3rd set.

      my advice would be to strike it with your palm and make sure your fingers and hand are fully extended. that should give u enough power but if you still cant get the ball over, try tossing a bit higher and make sure u strike a bit under the ball rather than over

    I absolutely suck at normal serves, but i found that floaters i could somewhat manage. So doing them in a jump float would help me improve. It's especially helpful since those who come to the school activity usually haven't even seen a serve that swerves even a tiny bit, so it's really effective

    • @helppls4430
      @helppls4430 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      kim nimol the middle/equator is your ideal contact point. hitting it under will cause the serve to “lollipop” and hitting it the top will generate topspin. the middle with a flat hand will give a ball with minimal to no spin and is your best bet :)

      Make sure your fingers never touch the ball, only the palm. Throw the ball high enough to give you time to jump. Make sure when you're done hitting the ball, your plam is facing where you want the ball to go. To get little to no spin, make sure your fingers aren't flicking the ball up.

    literally any volleyball video: "haikyuu!!!"
    no, I ain't hating. I'm a fan of haikyuu itself and love the series but I'm just pointing out at the amount of comments related to haikyuu are just too much. literally 2/3 of the comment section is about haikyuu and it honestly disappoints me so much as to how us haikyuu fans only started liking volleyball because of haikyuu. I bet almost all of the non volleyball players before watching haikyuu probably found volleyball tiresome of something like that. I'm guilty of this myself and I'm not proud of it. if you do actually get into the sport and dedicate your time and effort to it though, I have to say,that's really impressive.

I too watched Haikyuu from the start and thats why I got into it, my brother too, we have been playing for many years. Though my brother has actually made a huge improvement. It's annoying to see people think they know about volleyball and try to correct others. Once I was trying to play with my friends but wasn't able to because of these Haikyuu weebs being arrogant and think they know what they are doing and hogging the court. I have liked Haikyui for many years and I still have but yet, have I never commented about Haikyuu unless it was a Haikyui vid.

    This video was insanely helpful, but I was just wondering on how to practice the impact point of the ball and the bottom of your middle finger. When I hit it, it's usually like a spike, or it hits the bottom of my palm. The ball doesn't get much spin but I just can't hit it at the right point. Do you know anything that can help, or should I just keep practicing my serve until I can finally hit it correctly?

    Since I'm quite short, every time I do a normal float serve, it usually tends to hit the net. Would a jump serve be best for shorter people?

    Hi Coach Donny, I have a question (I don't think I saw it answered, but way too many anime fanboys here flooding the comments to be sure..). For tossing, I see 3 options. With hitting arm, both hands, and opposite hand. For jump top spin serves, I feel like 95% of guys toss with their hitting arm (to keep the ball in line with the hitting shoulder, with Christenson and Dalhausser being notable top level exceptions). For floats, as you mention, with guys, I see lots of two hand tosses, which makes sense to me. However, with women's vball there are lots of left hand tosses. I can understand that a guy with bigger hands could grasp the ball and control the toss the ball better than girls with their non-dominant hand, but at the top level there seems to be the opposite preference. When coaching younger players, I thought that the two hand toss would 1) given them more consistent tosses and 2) keep the toss in front of them since a one hand toss could easily go further back than intended. Is it that the one hand toss can give female players more vert due to a better takeoff? What are your opinions on this in terms of coaching and long term player development (at a decent girls high school level, but not for players that will go D1 or D2 college)? Thanks, and these videos are great!

    Coach? I was deep in curiosity about MANY MAN (even me haha) USING THAT TWO HANDED TOSS, in our UAAP Men's v.ball they almost serve at two handed, and in our inter-high school from other players I saw them serving that two h.t. What do you think coach?
