Great video! Really helps to understand better what is actually happening in some of these riffs. Just a small question. What kind of pick are you using and do I see it correctly that you are holding it sideways? Is there a specific reason for holding it sideways? My first guess would be easier rythm playing because of the less pointy edge.
Thanks! I'm using a .73 "Tortex Flow" pick by Dunlop. I like these picks because they are slightly smaller than standard Tortex Dunlop picks. They also have both a pointier main tip and more defined sides. So if I'm soloing or playing lead lines, I'll generally use the pointy tip. For rhythm stuff I gravitate towards the side because it seems to glide across the strings easier and has a less direct "pointy" sound to the chords. Playing on the side is pretty personal to me I would say, so definitely take that with a grain of salt! It's just something my hands and ears gravitate towards. Thanks for checking out the vid!
