Or they subdivide and multiply. If everyone knows the solution it becomes less and less effective. Others are the cause of most worries and they delight in the power it affords them. I'm afraid they don't vanish but instead grow ever more devoted to creating worry for power plays.

Some of my favourite quotes by Dale are:
    • It isn't what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about.
    • Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get
    • Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success.
Lastly, my favourite & one of things i personally stand by -
    • Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain but it takes character and self control to be understanding and forgiving.

    3 Worry Remedies
    1. Analyze your worry (90% elimination):
    Write it out:
    What am I worried about?
What can I do about it?
At least three courses of actions. Choose most positive result.
    2. Imagine and mentally accept the worst case (eliminate 10%)
Because worrying destroys our ability to concerted, accepting the worst yanks us out of the Grey clouds.
Create list of urgent and important tasks
Do what you can, accept that you didn’t complete the rest and it doesn’t matter.
    Activate iron doors:
    1. Every morning is a new life, yesterday is dead

I really needed this video. The whole covid situation and racial tensions have been driving me crazy. I find myself constantly worrying about mistakes I've made in the past and worrying about what will happen in the future. I've spent my whole life working too much and not spending enough quality time with my family, especially my kids. And now that they are teenagers I feel like it's too late and we don't have the relationship I wanted. I'm scared of being alone like my own father...

    • @corpgov

at least you have a family and kids, you did well there. I'm approaching 37, male and single, surviving the lockdown by sheltering in the attic of my brother's house. Wondering about when I'll have the agency to strike it out on my own eventually

    • @andyniblett8986

Larry - I have done it the opposite way - I have been all over the world with my daughters ,and as a family - never missed a parents evening - and I still have problems with them .
      I don't worry a second about covid 19
I do worry for the poor people who have had a legitimate cause , namely BLM , hijacked by the global elites - and they don't see ,that they are being played , and used .
Stop worrying , you cannot stop what is coming - because it is coming , whether that by the design of man , or gods will - it cannot be stopped
Make peace with yourself and your God- and put your feet up .

@@corpgov you're absolutely right. I should count my blessings and I try my best to keep it all in perspective. You're still young so don't give up on having a wife and kids if that is your goal. Take it one day at a time and work on a plan to move toward your goal. There are a lot of women out there that would love to have a family too. You can do it!

The middle class illusion finally travels itself as a fraud. Someone once said we spend our lives earning money to buy what we miss out on along the way in the hope we'll find it again. It's a lie. Yet economic growth perpetuates that in us by encouraging financial success, and its display both materially and projecting experiences, bought too, as the only metrics. It's not "quality time" as that refers to filling it with more experiences to relate success to others. It's simply time spent together with no aim or purpose. The middle classes define quality time as constructive time. That's a great error.

If you are worrying address it by journaling. Write what you're worried about, and then write 3 or more things that you can do about it, finally, take action.
Accept whatever worry is left. Vividly imagine that the worse case scenario has already occurred. Take your next steps with this in mind, seeing each new step as an opportunity that wouldn't have been there otherwise.

I know a lot of people of today the only thing they worry about is where to get the food to eat for a day just to survive because they lost their jobs due to current health crisis. I lost a huge amount of money in business and currently broke and i am old...Shane, you are in a better position than most people do right now, breath and just be thankful, if you know how to adapt or willing to learn new set of skills or grow your own food, you are gonna be just fine and you will survive.

Financial Freedom is a myth defined by get rich schemes whose promoters never get it because enrichment of the self and displays of it overcome them. Define your minimum, now, then live it. Then you'll be able to save towards your future. If you love what you do, why retire? Can you do it part time, sooner rather than later, and glide into retirement? Are you living your life or the lives of others to fit in thus making work a means to its ends? Lots of questions.

I constantly worry about the future and plan ways to safeguard myself. It has really paid off since March. I lost my job, but I am still able to pay my bills because I saved a year's worth of living expenses. Now, if I live frugally I might be able to stretch those funds to last much longer than a year. With any luck, I will find a new job and won't have to pinch every penny - but I am prepared to do it if fate doesn't smile on me. My philosophy is to prepare for the worst, but hope for the best.
I know that optimism is a more fun philosophy than pessimism. However, pessimists are always ready for disaster and are often pleasantly surprised when things go well. Optimists always expect success and are often shocked and unprepared when things go badly.

Let me share my thoughts as Dale Carnegie Trainer who tought these principles at one point of time.
I think the last one you said actually comes much earlier in the book worked for me I. E live in day tight compartment relevant at any point of time and even today with lots of lay offs in India due to covid 19 and slowdown. ..each day should be a new life ...forget past.
Developed countries have better eco system to manage this pandemic and also employment issue with help of social security system, which is severely lacking in underdeveloped nations like India , Pakistan, Nepal etc.
Regarding making a list of action plans... the reason is biological dopamine is released in our human system and lifts our spirit. However sometimes it is addictive. .we need to manage dopamine internally.
Sometimes doing nothing helps ..that's what some recent studies suggest. The book is old as we know and needs to be updated ...just a personal view.

eliminate 90% of your worry by writing
down your worry in precise detail and
then writing at least three courses of
action you can take then make a decision
    and take action
    eliminate any remaining
worry by accepting the worst and asking
yourself how can I improve upon the
worst then to prevent any new worries
from creeping back into your life
    practice living in day tight
compartments by imagining each day is a
new life and telling yourself if I do my
best to take care of today tomorrow will
    take care of itself
