It's got to be extremely hard to sing the same old song over and over, night after night. And the sarcasm or humor of it being a new song says it all.. But this version of The Red is one of the best live versions I've seen. They still put just as much emotion into the older stuff as the new. Great post. I'll see them in Sept. Peace
Possibly. When it's this great of a song though? Maybe not. I play it on guitar, and granted, it's not nearly as many times as they've played it, but there's something magical about it...it's just feels good to play. Almost like therapy. Maybe it's still like that for them?
We saw them a few years ago in Dallas with Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace….they played this song the same way, and Ive never forgotten it, it was fucking awesome. Matter of fact, Chevelle killed it the entire show. The other two bands didn’t hold a candle.
@@Ciscoflexx I love both. Chevelle more so though. I feel that Breaking Benjamin makes a better overall album, while Chevelle has better individual songs. If I want to listen to an entire album from beginning to end, I put on Breaking Benjamin. If I want a few songs, it's Chevelle. Can't go wrong either way!!
The way they play this song out, in intro, the guys coming on stage late to rock when the beat drops lol it’s dramatic as hell and progressional. Gives me fuckin goosebumps man. I just missed them playin at the Filmore. I’m so upset
Thank you for not enjoying this concert but instead making this recording for us. Not all heroes wear capes. Btw...you should have mesh pitted yourself to a closer view.
If you close your eyes he sounds like Maynard J K if he sang in this style. Maynard is my favorite but he sings different but if he sang this way he'd sound like this
Chevelle is so underrated
Pete joking around that The Red is a new song, lol!
When they were in Atlanta, Pete said, "So we're working on a new album right now, so here's an old song for you"
Time stamp please
@@novafan237 it's literally the first thing he says in the video 🤷🏼♂️
I had to do a double-take like is this really 2019? Thanks for the confirmation LOL
I’m going to see them this coming Monday with with my dad. I’m hyped as hell! They are his fav band. Can’t wait to hear this live with him.
They will make the hair on your arms stand 🤘 me and hubby are going in November they have been his fave for a long time
How was it?
Yeah. How was the concert ?
yeah how was the concert?
Bro how was it??
Never would have guessed that sound was coming from a strat.
Strat but with an Hambucker on the bridge
It was better when it was coming from a Paul Reed Smith guitar.
It's a Baritone guitar.
@@davidbrown2945I thought it was the Jim Root signature?
Fender Subsonic Baritone I think
this must be one of best live performances i've seen online.
They sounded awesome saw them last night and they are still killing it 20yrs later
It's crazy how many of us here in the comments were in the same room together, and never would have know unless we came here.
Was there that night, very good band
I saw this group when they just came up they had opened for slip knot.(back in the day in a club in Inland Empire)

@@saveitforyourown nope
@@saveitforyourown they've been playing it since 2002 in rehersals and concerts and practicing at home so they probably hate playing it live now
Saw this live, it was incredible
It looks incredible!! 😃👍
So glad I got to see this show

Well damn, I was expecting a studio version. This was an amazing surprise !
Best live version I’ve seen
Wish the album version would start like that!!!
That's the cool thing about seeing a band play live, especially if it's a song they've had for years.
I wish the opposite - i'd like them to play it like the album version.p
Great recording. Thanks, Dude!
2021 and still 🔥🔥🔥😎
Still amazing after all these years!!! Awesome solo open then love the ramp up when rest of band hits the stage!
I saw him do this acoustic live here in AZ. Fucking awesome!!!
With 480 mbps WiFi and 2 twelve inch terminators in my trunk I can jam at home and hear about anything I want but these guys jam
chevelle forever "the red" yeahh RED AGAINNN lml
Deans voice ahhhhh
You ought to have an amazing phone.
Perfect!
😍😍😍in love
Of you
The bass is real
Pete, glad to see you w/ that strat. PRS sucks for what they did
what did they do
@@0iceman092 took or stopped their endorsements, and fender quickly and happily took Pete and gave him gear. Lol
Pete looks like a heavy metal Nick Jonas
Reminds me of the knuckle duster days

His brother needs way more reconition
es una banda que me gustaria ver en vivo
Woooow
3:08 did Dean just do a growl?
Yeah. He does scream on some stuff.
Is this a tool side project?
No
@@sansarkosakowski8027 sarcasm is lost in text. I’ve seen chevelle four times, was just noting they are heavily influenced by Tool
❤
I know Joe has been out for 15 years but jeez Joe is so much better than Dean at vocals and bass.
One of the last concerts of the year before the....... VIRUS *ominous clouds appear*

For a 3 piece and Pete singing while playing all of it they’re crazy tight
Before Spider-Man 2 (2004).
Bass player a little off on background
