My real good friend from grade school, Sharon, was great, right down the road. Good summer times, and I was so sad when she moved away. Ok, after sending Christmas Cards back and forth for over 20 years, we lost touch. Then came facebook. My friend Sharon and I are back giggling and sharing stories. Thank you technology!👩‍❤‍👩

My husband is the same way. Always helps me to change out quilts and never never tells me he doesn’t like one of my quilts. Smart men we have. Same with food I make never will say he didn’t like something I made. Smart men.

I went thru all my magazines last summer. Pulled the patterns I want to make someday. I keep them in plastic sleeve protectors in notebooks, separated by category. I enjoy looking through my notebooks when relaxing. And often I get inspired to make a quilt. When I want to make a quilt, I pull the paper pattern out of the sleeve protector, putting the sleeve protector at the front of the notebook to remind me there is a pattern on the loose.

I do have a good sized sewing room. It’s my living room that is now dedicated to quilting and sewing. Also, some of the magazines are in bins in my basement, which is large. If I die before getting rid of all the books, etc, my children will just toss it out, most likely.😢

I went through all of my quilts magazines and books over the last few days. When I finished, I bundled up the magazines...about 60...and about eight books, then passed them on your a fellow quilter. So cathartic to get things I didn't need out of my house.

My bff and I have been besties since 5th grade. We’re 77 years young. When you mentioned the Library quilt, I got so excited. Both my daughters have “mentioned “ that bookcase quilt and this Library quilt seems more doable. Maybe they’ll get a book quilt for Christmas this year.
I’ve got most of your books, almost didn’t purchase the Happy Hoopla, but had gotten anyway. Please find another publisher 💖

My best friend growing up was Janice. We lived across the street from each other starting when we were about 4 and 5 (I’m 1 year older almost to the same week). I’m happy to say we are still friends now! And we’re 72 and 73 years old!

I baste my quilts on the queen size bed in the spare room. I save old sheets and lay a sheet down on the bed. Just remove the pillows and there is a large flat area. I have a big cardboard cutting mat (used for garment making scissor cutting) that I put under the sheet to provide a hard surface. I have basted a king size quilt on the bed. I use 505 basting spray.

Hey Pat! Well my planned year is already off… as in a classic cold that started the 2nd of January, yay. Sleeping and not coughing up a lung has been my new new year goals. I’m already late on my block Wednesdays and two other BOMs. Sigh😢. My best friend from elementary was Sue Sue. She and I would constantly move our mother’s plants from one garden to the next. Mother used to laugh about never knowing where they were going next. Thank you for the lovely memory. You’re the best!

Hurray I had to pause the video this lunchtime (UK) and pop onto Martingale's website and managed to get the Holiday Hoopla book as an e-book . Now I spend time deciding which fabrics for the next sampler quilt too. plus the library quilt which will make a different style of charity quilt for me. Need to make a start on Childhood memories now my scrap quilt making to use up last year's left overs from charity quilts . I'm going to use exactly the same fabrics from my Emma bundle too.

I love this topic of best friends. My best friend since childhood is Jackie. My family moved in nextdoor to hers in 1959 when we had just turned 4 years old. We have remained friends throughout the years and she is like a sister to me. My other best friend now is RoseAnn. We met in 7th grade. We both love to sew and make things for each other for birthdays and Christmas. I made quilts for both of my besties this Christmas 🎄🎁💖

Good morning, Pat! Glad you liked the Infinity Scarf I made. That red just screamed "Pat!" My best friend throughout grade school was Janet. We caused so much trouble in school, we frustrated the nuns! The used a sign language so we could communicate during class, and we learned to write backwards and passed a little notebook back and forth with our backward notes. Everyone thought we were really goofy, and I'm sure we were! LOL! My long ago besty and I recently reconnected. She lives in Florida, and I am in Wisconsin. This should be interesting!

Oh dear! I forgot about the Hoopla Sampler! I've been wanting your celebrations book for a while, and I could only afford to buy one from Martingale. Do you think I could improvise and make the quilt using the celebrations book? LOL Have you thought about who will publish your next book now? Wonder why they didn't put the company up for sale? Anyhow, they will be missed I'm sure! Thanks for your enthusiasm and encouragement, Pat!

Pat, what do you do with your patterns after you have made the quilt?? Like Red Zinger or Lollypop Trees. Keep it, toss it, give it away?? If I can figure out what to do with the patterns, that would help clear out some from my “stash” of patterns??
