Mosco: Can I please have, Gummigoo?
Glitch: Ha! No.
R.I.P Gummigoo 😭😔
Lessons from the Dana Terrace and Matt Braly school of tormenting their audience.
Early!
ALASTOR REFERENCE!!! 📻🦌
I see you, Elijah!
"The Utah teapot, or the Newell teapot, is a 3D test model that has become a standard reference object and an in-joke within the computer graphics community."
..... oh.... LOL
Oh lmao!
I wonder if Suzanne the monkey will have a cameo at some point.
@@WeeLassReactsThere’s a Tom Scott video about it. Maybe you could react to that to learn about it?
In the context of the show it tells us this is a test area where the developers first tried out the graphic system.
That part with Caine unaliving GummyGoo so unceremoniously made me feel so much rage… Poor Pomni, and right after she found someone she could really confide in.
Well Pomni still has Ragatha, Kinger, Gangle, and Zooble given that their all in the exact same situation together❤️🩹
@@fantasy-artist4425 I think her smiling a little at the end is her realizing she can turn to them.
But at the same time you can't blame Caine his an Ai his just doing what he was programmed to do
I mean she made friends with a NPC, a being which, no matter how real they may seem, isn't real.
She knew he was a NPC but she still chose him over the other real people surrounding her. Even over Ragatha who really tries to be her friend even despite Pomni having abandoned her.
I personally mostly don't understand Pomni's mindset and thought-process.
@Oceane1803 it's because Ragatha can't relate to pomni that's why
10:23 That's the dev room, where the game's character models and other assets are stored and load from. Also, the teapots are a reference to the Utah Teapot, one of the first 3D modeled items made using bezier curves instead of using precise measurements. It's basically an in-joke between 3D animators.
Oh wow
Wait, so it's a spline instead of a mesh?
@@dreye3215 It's a mesh the coordinates of the vertices of which were computed using Bézier curves.
"Can Gummigoo stay? I really like him. He's kind of a cool character." 😭
Glitch “haha… NO”
"If I get people and NPCs mixed up, who knows what could... happen." That line from Caine is so haunting to me. We've seen how unceremoniously he gets rid of NPCs, if he ended up confusing a player for an NPC... what happens to them?
My guess permadeath since only the npcs have extra models
My guess, since Caine explicitly can't use his powers to tamper with the humans' minds (at least, if you believe him), is that he accidentally alters their bodies (which an NPC could be coded to be fine with, but not a human), indirectly causing a severe case of body dysmorphia that speedruns them toward abstraction. Either that, or he can't CONSCIOUSLY mess with the humans' minds, and so ends up just straight-up deleting what he incorrectly thought was an NPC in an attempt to conserve processing power or something for the humans.
I think it's actually maybe hinting that Caine himself was a human who lost his memory
@@fanatica1338Thats a wild theory and i love it
@@ItsJustEBro Goosworx herself said he's an ai tho.
19:04 the Utah Teapot is one of the first digitized items. It’s sort of an in-joke for 3D animators.
Glitch has said that there will be no canon shipping.
Which means it's free real-estate for the fanfiction community, but don't take it too seriously.
*Gooseworx said that.
...
Not that it makes much of a difference.
Like that’ll stop anyone 😅
@@ScorpionStrike7 They just mean that there will be no CANON romance. Gooseworx said they're fine with people shipping but don't expect any romantic feelings or relationships to develop in the actual show.
What about Caine and the Moon?
4:10 I think there’s definitely something to the idea of Ragatha as a chronic people pleaser. At the very least, she’s very invested in being liked.
Not sure Ragatha has a crush on Pomni, her body language is just like that to everyone, also because she’s legit a rag doll so her movements are really expressive, she also feels bad for Pomni for having a bad day, she just wants to help, also the creator said there would be now romance in the show, nor any ships will be canon
Glitch has said there will be no shipping in the actual show, but that could change. Also I think she has a personal problem of not expressing her vents, issues, and negative thoughts because she considers herself the primary caretaker of the group and wants to make sure everyone is okay even above herself.
@@MasonJWMyers well, tbh, not only did glitch say it but the ACTUAL creator GOOSEWORX seemed pretty serious about it, and I’m pretty sure she’s passionate about that
@@Mia-zi2ec Ooh, that must really serious, thanks for informing me. That is also a little weird considering Goose is also confirm every character (Except Caine and Bubble.) ages to cut off...... actually that makes all the sense.
Yeah, there will be zero romance or crushes in this show. Which makes it really fun. They're all adults, and Goose refuses to give them canon sexualites. So we're allowed ti gi shipping wild! 😂 I ship every single combination in this show. Bunny Doll and Showtime being my top one.
Thank god.
Wee lass: *Wants GummyGoo to live* I have decided to trust you
Caine: A horrible decision, really
Games have an area under the map were they keep assets loaded, so that's were they ended up
Wait is that really a true fact/rule about game design? Am I, someone who usually has a hella hard time understanding math/data/coding/anything to do with numbers, actually LEARNING computer science through watching this show?? If so then that’s seriously cool and shows just how much the writers did their homework
The Fudge is 100% a Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure reference.
Also reminds me of the monster from Conkers bad fur day
Yeah, it's like The Greedy but 90% less likely to give children nightmares.
And/or the great and mighty poo
Its also the monster from the candyland board game, It was my favorite game as a young child and I even watch the movie so I remember the fudge monster
he reminds me of "i am the great mighty poo"
It surprises me how many reactors have no clue whose hands those are grabbing Pomni's. You'd think the hands of a Raggedy Ann doll, a ribbon, a random assortment of shapes, and a floating glove would be more recognizable. xD
I love how every single content creator i've watched so far has expressed interest in buying the gummigoo plushie bc of the episode lmao, truly shows the impressive writing of this show where we can fall in love with a character so quickly
As soon as the ep ended I went MUST......BUY.....GUMMIGOO.....PLUSHY!!!!!!!
why is the first thing that came to mind was "she ain't got no money her clothes are kinda funny her hair is kinda wild its true"
My favorite part of this episode is the parallel between Ragatha trying to cheer up Pomni, and Pomni trying to cheer up Gummigoo, i have a feeling it was intentional to make Pomni understand and appreciate Ragatha's attempts more, which plays into the ending where she realizes she can actually count on these people and that they will care if she abstracted (going against her nightmare at the beginning where they didn't care).
holy crap I picked up on everything else but somehow never picked up on that her seeing Gummigoo so upset and wanting so badly to help was supposed to be a “now you know how HE/SHE felt” moment for her
The npc thing coming back, I feel it. That closeup on Caine. I think one of the characters might not be an actual person(besides Caine and Bubble. We already knew that)
Edit:basically, I think Jax is an npc from some sort of farm world who snuck into the circus and pretended to be one of the humans that got trapped here. I feel he has the most evidence to be an npc, with Kinger the other option. I’ve also seen some people think a human was deleted when falsely thought to be a npc, so that could add to that theory
Ooh, I haven't though of that, but that would be really interesting
I feel like Caine is unable to tell if he is a human.
@@lerka7318 thanks. Would be very depressing though given everything
THE FARMMM IT MAKES SENSE
Caine himself said he can't effect people's minds. I doubt he would be able to fully delete someone.
The Gummigoo keychain figurine comes with a PSA warning to not attempt to eat, but also comes in candy packaging complete with a "nutritional panel" on the back. What could go wrong?
My theory, however mad it sounds, is that Zooble is an NPC that has managed to sneak into the circus. They’re not keen on the adventures, and they seem to be hiding from Caine in this episode. Sure, maybe they just want him to leave so they can do the funeral, but it kind of looked like Zooble was actively avoiding him at the end.
Zooble is also an amalgamation of different bits and pieces, possibly falling apart/glitching now that Caine isn’t actively controlling them.
This theory probably isn’t true, but after what Caine said about keeping track of who is a human and who is an NPC, I wouldn’t be surprised if at least one of the main cast was an NPC hiding in plain sight.
cool theory. now that the funeral happened, let's see what zooble does in the next episode
Zooble has a box of infinite Zooble pieces to swap with, there's no way that their appearance is unintentional.
I'm reminded of a quote from The Good Place: "Don't worry, they're not real." "Well, they're fake people, but their _pain_ is real."
16:52 - They got those ARMA 3 vehicle physics in there.
16:59 - The teapots are probably a reference to the Utah Teapot/Newell Teapot. There's a hypothesis that they may also be a reference to the Russel's Teapot thought experiment, but that seems kind of a stretch.
18:40 - "Who knows what... could happen..." Oh no, Caine has _totally_ poofed a person before, hasn't he?
its so cute how you relate a lot to pomni in your reaction and then elijah relates a lot to ragatha 😭😭
the teapots are actually a reference to the Utah Teapot, which is a 3D test model and has been referenced in multiple animated projects and is an in-joke in the world of animation.
the Utah Teapot is actually very helpful in simulating shadows and lighting for testing purposes
The hands that caught Pomni from falling in her nightmare were Ragatha’s, Zooble’s and Gangle’s.
Kinger's also there, too. It's hard to see his hand since he's behind the others, and he doesn't have arms.
The teapots were just a nod to animation history. The Utah Teapot is a famous 3D model, the first 3D CGI model ever made (in 1975) without having to manually input every measurement. It's often used as a test model to this day, to check textures, lighting, or just to test rendering setups.
As much as I love the speculation, I get the feeling the real answers to this show are simpler and more shallow than everyone's expecting. When they're revealed, I think a lot of theorizing fans will be disappointed 😅
Idk about that. This IS a Glitch show.
If you are still wondering about tea pots, look up the "Utah teapot", and was one of the earliest 3rd mesh models. It used to be in many of the early computer 3D graphic papers.
That teapot model was the first 3D object ever made. It became an icon and it appears in many series and movies as a tribute
The Title: I love him already!!
Caine: I'm about to BREAK your heart!!
I legit had a moment when Caine Thanos snapped Gummygoo. I’m not ok
Given that Bubble didn’t have the censor bar over his mouth, I think whatever he said wasn’t swear words. It was either super sexually explicit, or super problematic. I’m guessing problematic, given Caine’s “Bubble…you can’t say that”
The teapots were Utah’s Teapots, an in joke with 3D animators.
The hands at the end were everyone but Jax, because Jax didn’t attend the funeral.
Bubble is male.
@@DJSlimeball oh, thanks for the correction!
I think bubble literally just made the censor noise.
I guess this episode taught us the following:
- Pomni is a poor sweetheart. 😢
- Jax is kind of an a-hole.
- POOR GUMMYGOO!!!! 😭😭😭
The first two were shown in the first episode, but I suppose reinforced/confirmed here. (Pomni clearly felt guilty about going for the exit door, but what alternative did she have? Keep wandering around and hope she finds Caine before Kaufmo finds her?)
I relate to Gummigoo.
If you are "Nobody" , just make yourself "somebody".
Pomni goes missing
Ragatha: where's my baby?!
Kinger actually only pretends to be insane so he doesn't have to face the consequences of all the sins he's committed
I felt sorry for Ragatha, she is the kindest character ❤
the fact that they introduced a beloved character to just end them immediately makes me so happy! I was not expecting that!😂
I don’t believe he’s gone at all… the fact he got a plushy and they announced that ‘the full cast are now in plushie form’ basically confirms the idea he’s coming back and is very important. I think it’d just be bad writing if he doesn’t come back because of everything they set up with him.
"Can't you just tag them?" I was wondering the exact same thing. Caine made the NPCs, or at least has a catalog of NPCs to pull from, so there must be a way for him to recognize them. I would also assume the NPC files differ from the player copies somehow, or at very least, they'd be stored in a different location, which would make it easier for Caine to figure out the difference.
I can imagine he would put a big obvious arrow with the word "NPC" over their heads at all times just so he can be fully sure they were indeed NPCs.
I don't that Caine cares about that. Caine is an AI and he doesn't understand human emotions, so him just deleting him makes a lot more sense
T pose because that's how model character are created so its easy to see every member of the model, also the whole show is making reference to Game Developement (Glitch, t pose, AI,...).
20:55
if you pause frame by frame, you can see the hands of Kinger, Ragatha, Zooble, and Gangle (or at least her ribbon, haha). Cool foreshadowing that Jax is not even trying to help at all.
If Caine has trouble determining real people from NPCs, and NPCs are very intelligent, could one of the main cast be an NPC?
I've heard that hypothesis before, and I like it. If it's true, my best guess of who is Gangle. The line "aren't you supposed to be submissive and agreeable?" feels like maybe a nod to that. It would also explain why Jax seems slightly more rude towards Gangle than the rest, if he knows she's an NPC and therefore doesn't think of her as a full person.
I think it's the opposite, Caine accidentally deleted an actual player in the past
@@shadycactus7896 What if it's both? A player came through with an NPC and he deleted the player and kept the NPC?
Gummigoo is totally coming back. They gave him a whole unexplored backstory and he's even got his own plushie you can buy for crying out loud.
They wouldn't do all that for a one episode character.
As for what Bubble said in the intro, his canonical reaction to being called cute is "(says every slur)" so sky's the limit.
Also, in case anyone hasn’t noticed, Zooble’s design is slightly different in this episode than in the pilot. Apparently, this going to be a running theme in the show
they have known each other for one day, and went through some trauma stuff, i hope its not a crush thing atm, i think ragatha is just nervous cause Pomni had a terrible experience and she wants to help ease that a bit.
New theory: Isn't is suspicious how our protagonists sometimes do NPC stuff? Like Gangle changes moods with her masks, and Jax has a head that is gyroscopically stable in the car chase scene. Maybe they are all AI's, just more advanced. Maybe Caines purpose is to create and test new AI renditions, until one passes the Turing Test. Only something went wrong and he is now unsupervised for decades.
Who knows if it's even decades. If this is indeed a computer simulation, it's entirely possible that this could be running on a different clock cycle. In Minecraft, an entire day passes in 40 minutes. City Skylines can progress by months per minute. The entirety of TADC Season One, could happen over the course of a single evening.
If we go with the theory that these are copies, it's entirely possible that every single character added to the circus was added in a single day, with Pomni sneaking in to try on 'the weird headset' when everyone knocked off at the end of the day.
If we get any revelation as to 'what' TADC's purpose is by the end of season one, it's possible that season two will start the 'next' workday in the real world, with the employee's coming in to see how their characters worked overnight.
Haven't watched the video, but I just wanted to recommend Netflix's 'Green Eggs and Ham' (or at least its first season), an animated show that's WAY to great for a Dr. Suess adaptation. It has great animation, compelling character arcs, hard hitting moments, action, and great humor. For some inconceivable reason, it's not often talked about, but that's one of the great injustices of this world. I think you would like it, Mosco, and I *know* I would like watching you react to it. In any case, I hope you're doing well!
I totally love that show and it's my first time seeing a comment about it somewhere!
I agree that the first season is my absolute favorite and that it could be fun to watch for anyone.
Dr. Seuss also did:
- The Lorax
- The Grinch
- Horton hears a Who
Amd (I forgot the name) The cat with a hat making theater (as in fun or silly doings?)
"i hope he can stay"
*cut to gummigoo getting obliterated*
Glitch has apparently said shipping won't be a thing so nothing crush related by Ragatha
Jax is the main villain
So first of all I'd like to say that gooseworx confirmed there will be no romance in the show. So ragatha and pomni having a crush one eachother is highly unlikely. Second of all, Pomni's body language indicates anxiety not a crush. So yes i do think you're looking too into this.
I like to imagine Bubble literally just made the beep sound, and that its not a censoring effect. XP
The teapots in episode 2 of The Amazing Digital Circus are a CGI joke and a reference to the Utah Teapot, a 3D model used by developers to test lighting and graphics.
Hi, Mosco. Really love your reactions. This show keeps getting better with each episode!
19:34 THANK YOU
That was literally my thought
Dunno if I’m just a softie or what but that bit where the hands grab Pomni hit home HARD. Instant tears
Mosco: Don't you dare. Glitch: We dare
Glitch, Episode 3: "Wanna see me do it again?"
@@IronDino LOL
18:29
Looks like Dr. Manhattan disintegrated Rorschach. Poor Gummigoo. 😢
8:58 I think you're putting more thought into the worldbuilding than Caine did.
I heard someone point out, that when Bubble gets censored it isn't the usual black bar with wacky sound, but just normal beep, which could mean she didn't swear, but said something so utterly heinous that they had to completely bleep it out
I just recently thought of this i thought maybe this is similar to the coraline movie and like- caine sees people with "sadness" and stuff and gives them a whole different world but they cant leave and he just keeps them there til they abstract and then he looks for more?
Fun fact about the teapots, it's called the Utah teapot, or the Newell teapot which is a 3D test model that has become a standard reference object and an in-joke within the computer graphics community and using a teapot model is considered the 3D equivalent of a "Hello, World!" program.
They've been around since the 70's and have appeared i many many movies and shows like easter eggs, like Toy Story and the Simpsons for example
So far, from what we know, I don't think this is any sort of purgatory or anything like that in the traditional sense.
From word of god, we know that Caine is an AI who was meant to entertain humans but is in a situation he was never intended to be in (with people who can't leave) and is trying his best but doesn't actually understand human emotions.
I think the way the characters each have different issues is more a symptom of them being stuck there and trying to cope.
We know that the office setting Pomni passed in the pilot actually exists in the real world and she recognised it. But it looked old and abandoned. We know Caine is somehow aware of that office, since he recreated it.
Considering there are no bodies laying around, that implies that either their entire bodies are somehow sucked into the program, which seems unlikely, they're actually copies of the people who put on the headsets, which has a whole lot of horrifying implications, or someone or something is messing with their memories, in which case we can't trust anything we've been told or seen.
That's what I'm trying to say! It's just a video game, not some mental heath fixing program. I get she's not a gamer, but still.
I think Cain is pulling from the real world screen in some capacity as a result of things, so the office is where Pomni entered and he recreated it, though he doesn't know what it actually is, so it's just an office that looks like it but nothing happens with it since there is no actual exit, since he doesn't understand the concept of them actually leaving the circus like that, he's just trying his best but his comprehension of the outside world is non-existent, he can see it somehow but not understand it.
We loved Gummigoo as well. I think that's why they made a plushie of him.
Theory: I think the reason Jax was being so pissy in this episode, and so dead set on choosing violence, and so disappointed when that option was taken away from him, might be because he was trying to use that violence as a cathartic outlet and a way to vent his own sorrows at Kaufmo's death. This whole episode, I think, may basically be him going through the "anger" stage of grief... In which case his carefree attitude in regards to Kaufmo abstracting in the pilot could have been him going through "denial"...
RIP gummigooner
The Aussie lad will be missed
You're not just an overthinker, you're an obsessive compulsive overthinker.
4:58 - Sounds like a certain someone's never seen "Meet the Demoman". Something to add to the watchlist, perhaps?
It'd be hilarious if the Gummigoo plushy came with a bag of confetti. Gummigoo: Before & After!
My theory, which I actually believe, is that human-Pomni broke into the C&A building, which was apparently abandoned but mysteriously hadn't had the power cut off. Naturally, she decided to try the VR headset out of curiosity.
I also think Jax was a programmer, internet troll, and hacker, which is how he's able to obtain keys without the other characters noticing.
It's canon that they entered the Circus at different times, and Pomni is the newest; I think whatever project this was has officially (but not actually) been shut down by the time she discovers it. Also, I think Kinger was an entomology professor who was an early adopter because he hoped the VR technology could simulate exotic bugs in their natural environments, which would be fantastic for educating people about insects and how cool they are.
i did a frame by frame and i saw the hands of gangle, ragatha and zooble- not sure if that means anything in particular though
I can see one of Kinger's floating gloves in there, too (though it is blurry). So it's all the other player characters except Jax.
I would LOVE to believe its a crush, it would be very cute for pomni to have that happiness in her new life at least, but sadly glitch said there will be no shipping in this series
In that case I can already imagine your furry towards Cain for what he did to GummiGoo
Someone has to point out how one of the lads suddenly rested his head on Gummigoo his back at 8:05
So random 😂
Gangle sounds so much like Kristen Schaal (Mabel from GF and Louise from Bob's Burgers), every time I hear them talk I have to catch myself because I'm like "LOUISE!?" 😂💀
20:15 It looks to me like he's just rolling his eyes.
14:04
If that theory is confirmed, then the Digital Circus world is just a human version of Infinity Train
14:20 I would lean closer to Anxiety for Pomni but maybe thats just because of her current situation.
Something notable is that Jax sometimes looks at the camera, and has consistently had keys to places (Kaufmo's room in ep1 + references he has keys to all their rooms, and here he stole the kingdom key from Ragatha). So he is either just a rly good trickster or maybe he has some sort of cheat/hack access that the others don't?
14:36 Gooseworx is pretty active on tumblr and has stated that the show will mostly be character-focused and less mystery-focused.
so who know if we'll ever find out.....
Someone else in the comments pointed out that games in real life usually keep their assets hidden under the map, and holy crap that made me realize that this show is GENUINELY teaching me some basic computer science.
I have a math disability (yes it’s really a thing) so anything to do with numbers and “hard logic” stuff like coding, technology, computers etc. usually doesn’t come naturally to me. But this show is explaining it in a way that somehow makes sense LOL
my main theory is that jax was just a child when he first got in the circus
gooseworks mentioned hes the youngest, and if theyve been in there for years, its highly possible that he was just a kid!
Also I totally called what would happen to Gummigoo. I saw it coming. But I can't wait to see him in any future episodes
As much as it hurt to lose Gummigoo, his merch would absolutely be bought the most and that, in a way, is genuis lol.
In honor of such an awesome guy, of course we'd buy his plushie after all that.
Well played, Gooseworx😭🤣
Mosco getting emotional over the Gummiegoo plushie. 😢
I don’t think they’re people apart of a mental health aid program. If they were, they’d give them a much more understanding host than Caine, who we’ve been told doesn’t understand human emotions. Definitely still on the train that they’re potential workers, or volunteers, for C&A who had their consciousness duplicated into the game. We’re even given a trailer for the game within the first episode.
I can't wait until they show that Ragatha was the puppet master the whole time. How she created the circus as a social experiment to see how humans would interact with genuine AI.
As I said during the new hellavaboss teaser *le-inhale* blade and spear! Shield and stone, to arms! (This time we hunting Caine)
She smiled for real, this episode
I wonder if the abtractions are fragments of the npcs that get deleted and are trying to reach the characters in the circus or are angry that they aren't real or something.
Jax has a thing for keys, maybe he is trying to find a key to unlock something
(Like a exit door)
Ten to one says he was a hacker/script kiddie in the real world.
They definitely knew what they were Gummigoo, making merch of him because they knew we'd love him!
Great **** reaction!
Anybody else think of Miss Molly from "Bump in the Night" with Ragatha?
Yeah, exactly. Wonder if that's supposed to be a hint.
Caine could copy Gummy's files into the digital circus and copy his code over
The animation and textures are so well done! I wanna get gummibears now
Theory: This is Hell, for those obsessed with video games... Caine is Cain from the story of Cain and Abel...
16:24 you see, the thing is…I think that’s gonna become a trend
I think we really need to watch the 3 episode too to really start to theorise.
It was mentioned by the creators that episode 3 is really "something".
Very Threw the looking Glass Pomni Feeling
I feel the finger guns confirms Ragatha as bi. There's my head canon.
tea pots were the first transmitted 3d shape.
My problem is how easy it is to tell Gummygoo apart from the others. He's a anthropomorphic gummy crocodile with an Australian accent named Gummygoo. How is that so hard to remember for a computer program with enough alloted memory to store multiple human consciousnesses and create AI with the same level of awareness
@16:19 Wee Lass: "can Gummigoo stay? I really like him!" 🐊
@18:31 Caine: "Hmmmm..... NO!" 🎊
R.I.P. 2024-2024.
