And here's why: Dai Vernon's note to Irene Larson had made me think of myself and my wife. And exactly one year to the day after I bought that book, on July 1, 2013, my beautiful wife passed away. She had been injured in an accident. And she died at 52 years of age. There are 52 cards in a deck of cards.....God talks to me through synchronicites often, and they are sometimes even more amazing than this one. Best two buys from trift, a beanbag for a fifth of the price I couldn't find any pricetag so I asked the staff who couldn't find it either. When I got home I found a small tag in the bottom. Second find was a set of six glas coaster in a religious trift store, made in style of anient greek painting. The kicker, they have sexual positions.

I also sold a beige t-shirt that simply said “Madonna is my mother” on it for $300, yes $300, I found it at a thrift store for $1.50. Later found out it was made by a nyc artist who was somewhat of a celebrity in the late 90’s

That was my best 2nd hand find. Oh yeah another time I found some P/A speakers in the dumpster at work.... nothing was wrong with them. And another time in 2001, after prior approval from management, me and a buddy found a couple original copies of Windows 2000 Pro with original packaging and product codes in the back dumpster at work. We used to collect old office chairs and take all the broken pieces off and replace with still good parts from other chairs and give them to whoever needed office chairs.
