I gave a clear example and explanation and even a photo of what I wanted. The lady cut it way too short, made it way too feminine, and gave me a haircut that looked like if Harry Potter was an old woman and a Karen. I had never cried as much as I did that night- this was a professional that did my hair too. When I told her and showed her what I wanted she went “I don’t think you’re going to like that so I’m gonna do what I think you’d like.”
A simple tip I always do when my hair is fucked up. Put as much as you can in the highest ponytail possible and cut off around 1.5 inch (about 3.5cm) off the ponytail, then make the ends thinner by picking your scissors at them. It creates a lowkey mullet/wolf cut hybrid and looks less feminine. Just did it this morning 💀
It happened to me too but my mom didn't let me have a more short haircut, my hair is not that bad but they literally just cutted it, didn't style it or anything

a few hair tips, 1. when cutting bangs, keep in mind that they will bounce/curl up, meaning if you cut them at your cheek bone they will be just about at your eyes, cut them eye length and they'll probably go to your eye brow 2. when dying hair, DO A QUICK TEST ON A SMALL PIECE OF HAIR!! this will help you know if the dye is trash or if your allergic 3. wet hair will puff out or shorten when dry, so keep that in mind when cutting 4. only go a bit at a time, don't go crazy and cut a whole chunk all at once 5. make sure you know what you're doing, if you don't or aren't sure, then just go to a professional 6. if you mess your hair up to the point of no return, buzz cuts and pixie is always a cute option :D

@@feelingdeadinsideinc1283 i have clear curly hair (like my dad’s African and my mum’s white but even she has wavy hair so there was no way I was getting straight hair lol) and if I brush out my hair, it goes extremely puffy/frizzy and looks more wavy than curly, so I think your hair could genuinely be wavy and just you need to try some new styling products to give it more hold. Works for me as when I use curling jelly, I can brush my hair slightly and it won’t frizz nearly as much and still looks clearly curly E: want to confirm: wavy, coily, and kinky hair are all a form of curls. I don’t recommend you use curling jelly as it will likely be far too weighted for wavy hair, but you get great lightweight holding mousses that work amazing with wavy hair, and other similar products more suited to less tight curl patterns

Nah, if you're using semi permanent dyes like veggie dyes the freshly bleached hair absorbs the dye more though, so it'll take super well but also use more in my experience.

I have really curly hair. When I started college in 2015 , I straightened my hair every single day for a year. I got impatient sometimes and would do it with my hair was still kinda wet. I always heard that you're not supposed to do it but when I did it it didn't seem to make much of a difference so I didn't mind. So then since I thought it didn't make a big difference I kept doing it. Not intentionally but if my hair was damp I would sometimes just straighten it anyways. Anyways over time my hair basically became like in the video. It wasn't as curly as the 150th time of course. But it was still pretty puffy and curly and shitty. Basically I fried my whole hair. and then I started complaining because I was wondering why am I here would look so trash when I straightened it. Anyways I stopped straightening my hair for a few years now. And I recently just chopped off my hair to my ears basically. Now I straighten my hair like once a year if im bored.
did you use a straightener specifically for wet hair? i have naturally curly too and back when i used to straighten it i used a straightener that had a dry hair and wet hair mode and for years i would straighten my hair wet and i don't mean a little damp i mean i would get out of the shower and immediately straighten my hair lmao and it was completely fine, no significant damage, didn't get fried (or bleached like the person's in the video) and when i wouldn't straighten it and eventually when i stopped straightening it all together it just looked like my normal curly hair like nothing had happened lol 🤷♂️
Once when I was 7 or 8 or somewhere around there, my mom took me to Walmart to get my hair cut. I wanted a bob, just a little above my shoulders. I brought a picture too. The lady cut my hair _to my ears_ and _gave it layers in the back._ My mom said I looked like a boy for a while. I recently got my hair cut at Walmart again. I brought a picture too. The lady was really good though. She showed me that her hair was like mine and that the style I wanted wouldn't work very well unless I put a lot of effort into styling it everyday, so I let her do a different style. It didn't end up like I wanted at first, but it (thankfully) turned out really cute, so I'm keeping it :)
I honestly don’t know how some of these people mess up with bleach that bad? Is it mega strong in America? I used a box bleach by Stargazer on my naturally dark, almost black hair, put it on, heated it in a shower cap to hasten the process and my hair came out blonde and not fried. Is it just really strong stuff over there?
I think many are bleaching over previously bleached and dyed hair. Plus, a lot of people mix their own concoction by choosing the bleach and the level of developer which can makes up bleach stronger or weaker. A boxed bleach set, with predetermined ingredients, on hair that hasn't been dyed before has fewer variables that lead to hair disaster.
I've watched this a million times to make myself have confidence and figure out how pretty I can be so far it's working (no makeup or dye used in process)

my mom is a hairstylist, so I showed it to her, and she said it reminded her of when I was like seven and cut my own bangs. I cried and to make me feel better she gave me a pixie cut and dyed it whatever color I wanted. this still happens to this day, and I'm 19 and moved out.
I usually chose red when I was younger because I wanted to look just like her.
I have really curly hair. When I started college in 2015 , I straightened my hair every single day for a year. I got impatient sometimes and would do it with my hair was still kinda wet. I always heard that you're not supposed to do it but when I did it it didn't seem to make much of a difference so I didn't mind. So then since I thought it didn't make a big difference I kept doing it. Not intentionally but if my hair was damp I would sometimes just straighten it anyways. Anyways over time my hair basically became like in the video. It wasn't as curly as the 150th time of course. But it was still pretty puffy and curly and shitty. Basically I fried my whole hair. and then I started complaining because I was wondering why am I here would look so trash when I straightened it. Anyways I stopped straightening my hair for a few years now. And I recently just chopped off my hair to my ears basically. Now I straighten my hair like once a year if im bored.

did you use a straightener specifically for wet hair? i have naturally curly too and back when i used to straighten it i used a straightener that had a dry hair and wet hair mode and for years i would straighten my hair wet and i don't mean a little damp i mean i would get out of the shower and immediately straighten my hair lmao and it was completely fine, no significant damage, didn't get fried (or bleached like the person's in the video) and when i wouldn't straighten it and eventually when i stopped straightening it all together it just looked like my normal curly hair like nothing had happened lol 🤷♂️

Once when I was 7 or 8 or somewhere around there, my mom took me to Walmart to get my hair cut. I wanted a bob, just a little above my shoulders. I brought a picture too.
The lady cut my hair _to my ears_ and _gave it layers in the back._ My mom said I looked like a boy for a while.
I recently got my hair cut at Walmart again. I brought a picture too. The lady was really good though. She showed me that her hair was like mine and that the style I wanted wouldn't work very well unless I put a lot of effort into styling it everyday, so I let her do a different style. It didn't end up like I wanted at first, but it (thankfully) turned out really cute, so I'm keeping it :)
I honestly don’t know how some of these people mess up with bleach that bad? Is it mega strong in America? I used a box bleach by Stargazer on my naturally dark, almost black hair, put it on, heated it in a shower cap to hasten the process and my hair came out blonde and not fried. Is it just really strong stuff over there?
Some of it is strong but a lot of these people have extremely damaged hair to begin with.
Also if you leave bleach in your hair for too long it makes it super weak and it just breaks.

I think many are bleaching over previously bleached and dyed hair.
Plus, a lot of people mix their own concoction by choosing the bleach and the level of developer which can makes up bleach stronger or weaker.
A boxed bleach set, with predetermined ingredients, on hair that hasn't been dyed before has fewer variables that lead to hair disaster.
some of it's strong, some people have bad hair, some people have bad salons, other people are fine lmao.
