    Well I found it a very functional and instructive video, easy to understand from a tradesman on-site. It’s a clever piece of kit and is very simple in it application, two methods for the price of one, and yes it costs a lot for what they are, however everything is expensive these days, it’s like people who use festool are generally paid better(my opinion anyways). I’ll be buying a set.😊

    • @u-scribejig
      @u-scribejig  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yes jack, in the infinity method scribing a fitted filler into the gap between the unit and the wall all you need to do is cut a block the exact same size as the width of the filler material your about to scribe, i.e. 150mm filler use a 150mm cut block, if you want to overlay that filler simply allow your cabinet thickness or panel thickness extra again i.e. lets say you have a 50mm void and an 18mm cabinet you would need a 68mm filler to overlay the face of the cabinets, which would mean 18mm + onto your filler or 18-mm less from your cut bock to allow the extra material over lapping the face. hope that helps

    • @u-scribejig

    Just about to order a set. I had one question about the offset method. When you’re measuring the gap from the wall to the carcass to figure out the size of filler are you measuring the smallest or bigger gap size?

    • @21ADB21
      @21ADB21 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Think he mis-spoke. Must be the biggest measurement surely?

    • @RedG0bb0
      @RedG0bb0 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@21ADB21 If you cut to the largest size, your filler piece will not fit between the wall and the carcass at the points where the gap is smallest. Don't forget you're going to remove the thickness of your carcass ~18mm from the filler piece. When you first line up the filler piece you're lining up with the right-hand edge. When you're done you'll be lined up with the left-hand edge of the carcass.

    • @26diesel74
      @26diesel74 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      He said the narrowest

    • @WillLafferty
      @WillLafferty ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think he described it accurately. If you use the largest gap as your measurement, then at the point of narrowest gaps, the wall will push your piece back past the edge of your cabinet (and bend the uscribe). You use the narrowest point so that you can have your right side flush with your cabinet. This doesn't bend the uscribe and allows it to work correctly. so the filler piece will touch the narrowest point, align with the right cabinet edge, and have small gap along the wider points. since you're going to be scribing and cutting off the excess, the small gaps at the larger ponts don't matter. Again, it would matter if you used the largest measurement, and then the narrowest point pushed your whole filler piece too far away from the wall. You could probably still make the scribe, but your filler piece would too wide by the difference between the narrowest and widest points.
