🤦♂️ Just create an L and make the crown over hang the cabinet doors. 7/8 off the face frame to account for the bumper on the doors. Scribing is easy, but making the crown flush with the face frame is diabolical.
Boring boring boring
Türkiye ye gönderim varmı
where to buy in europe ?
💦
Looks shit. Straight line is better than fill the gap!
Im a kitchen fitter and I use u scribe jigs every day. Mark it, cut it, put it in first time every time. Brilliant piece of kit👍
is that the electric planer you're using to get the scribe line? or sander?
Now get it back out lol
Fair enough. In that case, great job. 😊
I get the point, but please only do this kind of furniture if the house or flat is absolutely dry. This method closes the walls from air flow which is a good place for mold if there is enough humidity and lower temperatures.
@@hajovonta6300 the walls and floors in this property were clean safe and sound no issues to worry about here
Bahahaha!!! Never seen a ceiling that straight in all my years in construction. sure makes things look easy.
@@G45H3R true to form and I’ll take that comment as a great gesture to the product and how well it makes the finish look. I can assure you the ceiling was not flat or even
Get on with it already for the love of time !!! it’s not the technical 😂
I’ve had these in my arsenal for years now. Don’t use them as much as others might so always check this video out just to reference back to the best methods. Love them !!!
Decent joiner would scribe without a jig
They do, we do. But it helps. We’re not telling people the can’t we just showing them we can help 👍🏻
Why 62 mm ?
That is a really decent scribe! I very occasionally find that sometimes it actually looks better without a scribe altogether. The shadow gap in this instance looks quite neat to me. That said you would have to actually do the scribe to be able to compare and after going to that trouble who is not going to fit the scribe even if it looks better without 😂
looks great
Very clever 👍
La cale utilisée pour tracer le mur n’est pas de la même largeur que le fileur. Quelle est la logique pour la cote de ce morceau ?
Keep you compass at 90* it helps a lot
Would prefer the gap than that dodgy bit of wood. Just looks like a dreadful scribe.
I’ve always referenced the smallest dimensions gap between wall and inside cabinet face. Wondering if that is what was done here only the piece was opposite. When I scribe my filler is close to the wall as possible
Why not tell people it takes 2 pieces
Does this work with L shaped fillers ?
No it doesn’t I’ve tried so many ways to make them work but not succeeded. I have a pretty good method now though
@@georgereynolds9233 what’s your method ?
Would look better with a face frame so it's not two tiny pieces side by side
I think it's brilliant. Well done.
I prefer the gap to this weird squiggly wood.
Looks better with the gap
I hope you still finding your festool saw😂
Youve got the jig wrong way round ..the long bit goes inside cab so not in way of scribe ,...
Is there a reason you are using the u scribe jig backwards? Am I missing something?
If the difference between top and bottom is grater than 18mm how would you scribe it? This is the correct way to scribe
First one was a car wheel the second was a motorcycle tire. You didn't even try to match them
That was tiring
Just bought a set for building wardrobes in a very wonky victorian house. Looks like it's going to save me an awful lot of hassle holding the trim, a block and marking at the same time. Wish me luck!
Please kindly donate one to a young and broke carpenter like myself <3 Wanted one for 2 years now just have more important purchases to build the arsenal
Can you do one with timber to corrugated iron?
Scribe like a PRO links in our BIO
this is only for European style cabinetry in MM??
On the infinity method how u did a cut block the same size as your top scribe say for example that was capping over your tops would u just + 18 to your block? Same goes for scribes if it caps over your gable?
-18 I mean lol
yes jack, in the infinity method scribing a fitted filler into the gap between the unit and the wall all you need to do is cut a block the exact same size as the width of the filler material your about to scribe, i.e. 150mm filler use a 150mm cut block, if you want to overlay that filler simply allow your cabinet thickness or panel thickness extra again i.e. lets say you have a 50mm void and an 18mm cabinet you would need a 68mm filler to overlay the face of the cabinets, which would mean 18mm + onto your filler or 18-mm less from your cut bock to allow the extra material over lapping the face. hope that helps
@@u-scribejig cheers pal helps a lot 👍
In the process of fitting wardrobes as a DIYer since the trade are quoting ridiculous prices. Just ordered the U-Scribe Jig. The wardrobes ( 3 x 1000mm ) are assembled and in the upright position but not secured to the wall yet. Best way to secure? Thank you.
@@russ623 hi Russ. Just depends on your chosen finish and material. I always try to position screws behind hinges or hinge plates. If you do have to have them visable you can find colour match waxes and cover caps to cover over any screws 👍🏻
@@u-scribejig I was going to secure to the back wall using frame fasteners ( at the top / back above the shelf ) just to stop any movement as well as to each other. Pretty heavy but just want to be sure.
@@russ623 check out Space-Plugs. We sell them on our store but you can get them on Amazon too
@@u-scribejig Hi. Started to use the U-Scribe to do the plinths and hopefully ears ( long lengths so tricky to saw ). How tight should the join be between the wardrobe and ceiling/wall? I hate to see gaps but will too tight may be an issue with movement, expansion during the year? Thanks.
And it would be great to do an overlay instruction. I assume infinity method minus the thickness of the carcass is the way you do it with these jigs?
@@chrisjames3831 you nailed it spot on sir
This is a fantastic product, that saves so much time and gives great results. @uscribjig - you say that infinity is used more on jobs. Why is that? Apart from when you have a return to get around, what are the other advantages of the infinity? Thanks!
@@chrisjames3831 more just speed on the style of installation we do, no pre rip needed on the infinity method
Hi, with the infinity method, what’s the height? Can it be whatever you want as long as it’s higher than the gap you’re filling ? So 100mm for example ?
exactly that, literally to infinity, as long as the cut bock it the size of your pre cut filler it can be any size, within reason too as the longer the cut block the less accurate you will be
So you don’t get breakout on the face side
You in Australia, mate? 😅
😂😂😂
Because the Germans do!
It's way more effective as a scroll saw too. I'm no electrician but I don't see why it would be too hard to attach a couple horizontal side grips and modify your internals to run off of a switch in on of those grips. Safeties get in the way of the job anyways
There have been attachments to make it like a scroll saw in the past
@@u-scribejig oh my bad
👍 spot on mate
One of the most popular questions we get,"why do you use the jigsaw upside down?" and here are some of the reasons, visability - you havent got the body of the jigsaw in your vision awkwardly making you position yourself at a funny angle to see the line your working too, Speed and neatness of cut U-SCRIBE - with upward cutting blades (blades that would cut the underside traditionally T101b) in a more agressive orbital setting leave a mich neater cleaner cut and its faster through the material, Protection - working from the opposite to the finish side means less chance of you damaging or leaving drag marks on your finished material, what do you think? And yes before anyway says it, i know there is face cutting blades (T101br)
