I guess everyone who is saying the disguise is a gimmick or 'distracting' has forgotten that this music was written for a countertenor. This kind of playful gender-swapping has always been part of it opera too. It is fun and I love it!

Vous avez quand même tous remarqué que l'Alto Giove de Cecilia dure 2 fois moins longtemps ('!) que ceux de Fagioli , qui sont toujours magnifiques d'émotion et de perfection . Elle connait ses limites et pratique le show avec mises en scène spectaculaires, ça lui correspond mieux . Son chant est vif, rapide et très ornementé, sa voix ne tiendrait pas sur les durées autrement .....Mais quel succès au final ! Alors pourquoi s'en priver ? lol
