J'ai écouté plusieurs versions du "Alto giove," interprétées par différents artistes. La version de Philippe Jaroussky me paraît exceptionnelle.
Celle de Philippe Matman est pas mal non plus mais elle ne bat pas celle de notre Philippe national .
J 'attends d 'entendre celle de Logan Tanner si toutefois il la fait un jour !
C 'est un grand admirateur de notre Philippe ( son modèle !) et sa version d 'Ombra mai fu par Haendel est .....monumentale !

I love this recording. I particularly enjoy watching the lutenist’s apparent emotional journey: from hostility and suspicion at 00:19 and 00:30, through deep concentration at 02:50, to the sheer rapture of 07:40!
Basso Continuo is hard work.... I think that he's trying to fill in the gaps. That's not easy to do.
He is a definite presence in this performance.
The violinist with the curly dark hair has my attention - she makes her performance look effortless and looks wonderful while doing it.

Tout simplement magnifique ! je vous invite à écouter la version de Derek Lee Ragin tout aussi fabuleuse. Sa voix fut utilisée pour le film Farinelli, elle se rapproche le plus de celle d'un Castrat, la partition étant à l'origine écrite pour ce type de voix.

One of the tasks of a budding Castrato was one hour of performance per day singing before a mirror. The task was to keep a neutral expression. Mr. JaRoussky has minimal "odd" facial expressions. He's paid his dues here.
That Lutenist.... he and some of the other performers are looking around... I do not understand it. Maybe it's for timing?
Sadly, I do not know the words.... they have meaning. Maybe that sounds silly to some, but I just follow the Counterpoint.... the themes that come and go.

Love it, but after years listening to Simone kermes rendition, this one drags a little and disrupts the tunes natural flow.

Regrettably this aria never really works with countertenors. It’s always and mostly the same turn out. Tiny, weird and not remotely the large scale of a 18th C castrato. This song sounds great with a boyish androgynous mezzo or soprano. And is incredible with a tenor. But people crank up the sound and compensate. Live this would be baby like and it is mewling.
Franco Fagioli is amazing on this aria. I agree with you for Jarousky, he is quite bad here.
He sings without understanding the depth of the text, mindlessly producing nightingale trills, however, as always with him. Dislike. Derek Lee Regan's performance of this aria remains the best.
Nonsense. He knows exactly what it is about, as usual. Apart from this, Rag-I-n has never sung this long version.
@@nordischbaby Yes, of course he knows, but he still sings the same as other arias. Jaroussky is incorrigibly monotonous and lacks genuine feeling in his interpretations...As usual.
