    In this video I show you how to make a simple sheath with a bow tie closure for your head knife. There is also a short version of this video available for non leatherworkers, please see description for further details.

    This is the best leather tutorial I have seen on TH-cam! I made my first head knife sheath today and it came out great thanks to your tutorial. I plan to make a second one for my other head knife tomorrow. I am watching your video on glue now. Really great content. Thank you!

    I can’t tell you how amazing the timing is on this video Ian! I just received my first round knife from weaver, and a new hide from Herman Oak. I should have bought one of these round knives years ago! Thank you for the tutorial Ian. Once again, fantastic content

    Love your videos Ian, thanks for the time and effort you put into the craft and making these videos. As a fellow leather crafter, especially one that has vision issues, it is inspiring for eveyone that might have a disability to push on and don't give up on your passion. Thanks again.

    Ian, if you keep a damp sponge near your sander you can dampen you leather a little while sanding. This will help keep the dust down while sanding the leather. Leather dust makes a total mess and gets everywhere. Great video by the way, glad to see you're still making them.

    Hey man love your work and videos. They have inspired me to start a new hobby in leather work. Not sure if you're a golfer but I would like to see a video sometime on how to make a leather golf club head cover if you are interested in that idea.

    Another great video here that I have just watched for the first time. Quick question. The large dark hardwood burnishing tool. Where did you get that from? as I am looking for something similar. Thanks. Martin

    Great video wish i'd seen this before, What size are your Sam Brownes please? i can only find screw in ones, and the tandy hammer in ones ones look tiny., also is there a sam browne anvil if im hammering them in? thx Ian

    Forgive me for possibly missing some things. During the creation of the Round Knife sheath, you did not use the round knife. I have watched almost every one of your videos and I do not recall seeing this knife used. Did I miss it? I am contemplating getting one. (saw some videos on holster building and they used the round knife). Personally, they scare me and I have, in my short leather working career, only used utility knives. They work fine. Still on my first blades (I strop them regularly). Thanks Ian!!! Stay safe.

      I do use it but not as much as my normal knife, mainly for curves. Holsters is a good example. Some people use them all the time but I find them awkward and unnecessary for a lot of things.

    Ian, do you have any specifications/suppliers for the lining leather you are using here? I am making a sheath for a work colleague & am using a Sam Brown stud to have a retaining strap. I was considering countersinking and layering a piece of leather in the countersink as you would with woodwork.......

    A great video, thank you!
    Can I ask where you are getting your Sam Browne studs from now? I can only find the screw type in the UK and the Tandy website only has one size of the type you use, and no longer has the setting anvil available, so I’m wondering if they are discontinued.

      I have a stock of them I’m still using, they still seem to be available to me though catalogue number 1309-01

    Who would down vote this?

    • @Leodis.Leather
      @Leodis.Leather  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      doesn't matter what video I make someone will always dislike it, and at least one person always does it within a couple of minutes after I upload it (i.e. they can't have even watched it).

      @@Leodis.Leather that's horrible, Ian.. obviously someone is jealous of your skills.. thank you for all your videos over the years. You've taught and inspired a lot of people to get into leatherworking. Carry on.

      Often downvotes come because it popped up in someone's "suggestions to watch" for some reason, and they don't want more videos like this to be suggested. I do that sometimes when Google's algorithm goes a bit wonky on me. I do have eclectic tastes, so I get some off the wall suggestions sometimes.

    • @Leodis.Leather
      @Leodis.Leather  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can click on the video and say ‘ I don’t want to watch this’ or whatever it’s called on the feed to train the algorithm there’s no need to dislike videos to do that and it’s not correct to do so
