Hey y'all - quick note as i screwed this up and had to go back in- you should pretension the torsion spring! otherwise the Kickstarter will be kinda loose and floppy. From the manual : "Wind the torsion spring half a turn and hook onto pin" as shown in this video is the correct way to do it. Woops
Been looking at getting kick start parts for years for my TW, I haven't done it though. This is the first time I've seen anything on somebody installing one. Thanks for posting! Motivation for me to find all the parts
Great video and I love the sound track - btw on the clutch basket nut I use Makita 3/8" cordless impact and I hold the basket with one glove Michael Jackson style thus no need for basket holding tool, tighten with impact as well PS I lean the TW over aprx 45 degrees and you only drip a tablespoon of oil in case you just changed your oil and you don't need to drain it again !
Great video(s) I really enjoyed them. A few years ago you could buy a kick start kit from Yamaha for an XT225 that had all the parts required and it also fit the TW200. Also enjoyed the "watch the watchers" reference.
Super useful video! My stock 2018 had a spacer that had to be removed before I could fit the idler gear. Also I am not sure exactly what is meant by “align the clutch lifter arm to the index line on the crankcase”. Can you please help me with this? I see the arrow but I am not sure what’s is being aligned and where the index line is. Maybe related to my prior question, but how tight should the silver headless bolt be(you called it the clutch push piece earlier in the video)? Is that what is supposed to be aligned to something? Thanks again for all of your work on this video and your help.
Going to try this next weekend. Can anyone explain the step “Align clutch lifter arm to the index line on the crankcase, then tighten the center lock nut”? What is the clutch lifter arm? Where is the index line? Thank you.
Your quit a mechanic I have to say! I would never remember where all them parts an pieces go! lol! I think ill just catch it in gear if I have to lol thanks
Awesome video!! Thanks. I was looking for this video to see if they could be installed on a 2019. Was there a part number on the kit you bought. Or did you buy assembly in separate pieces. I’m looking for the kit but Yamaha in my town says there isn’t a kit.
Hi Mio! Do you have a link or a list for the kick start parts you need for this upgrade? I’d really like to install a kickstart on mine. Most of places I go is muddy and boggy. Not much room to bump start the bike. Plus I don’t like relying on electric start. Thanks again Mio! Keep up the great video’s!!!
@@WrongLogic Awesome Thanks Mio!!! Your help is much appreciated. I’m going start getting parts together Monday morning. Can’t wait for the upgrade! Thanks again!!

Mio, you rock! 🤘 I had an older TW200 in the mid-late 90s, and it had a kicker on it.. Thanks to you and this vid [and the link w/ the parts list that you added] I might just have to add one to my new T-Dub. Check it out.. Last night I scored a 2013 [13 being my favorite number] annnd.. It only has 47 [yes, forty seven] original miles! I can't wait to get er' accessorized / customized / legalized, and start banging around again. I absolutely love these bikes! Thanks for the killer video! [Liked & Sub'd] 🙂👍 Sam -
Hi Sam! Can you share the link with the parts list? I’d like to try and track down the parts to do this upgrade. I don’t like relying on electric start as most of the places I travel off road are muddy and boggy and unable to bump start! Thanks!
Wanted to see a kickstart installation in a TW200 and was not dissapointed, thanks a lot!

Don’t mess your bike up for 100 smacks...🇺🇸👍🏽
This is incredible, thanks for taking the time to do this, especially with the subtitles! I think I’m ready to add a kickstarter now.
Just ordered the kickstarter parts. Thanks for the video… A fist bump solid to ya.

Where would you find a kickstart kit for a tw200?
In the USA cycle junk yards are good source. USA'87-2000 tw 200 still had kick start. Might be off by 1 year.
Nice! I hope the parts list, photos and tips I provided on ADV at least helped somewhat with your install.
I’m looking at a kick start kit a guy has for sale and I’m curious how I can tell if all the parts are there?
good work, but the only thing I was interested in seeing is not shown in the video, how to put the kick nut in its location ^^
watched it in steps to do my kickstart thanks
Where did you get the kick start kit?
Great video! How can you stand wearing gloves?
The secret is light gloves, then it doesn't mess up with your balance.
Where can I buy the Kickstarter kit?
You make that look easy, for some maybe, but for me....not so much. Well done video though, very interesting.
hey, great looking tires, what are they?
front is pirelli mt43; rear is stock
i noticed the front tire does it work well? have you switched to a different tire since this video?
has been great. I would get the same when the time comes to replace it (Pirelli MT-43)
@@WrongLogic thanks!

where did you order the kick starter parts from?
Partzilla! Although prices have gone up since several years ago
Did they give a part #?
Can I pay you to do mine?@WrongLogic
