As mainly a cedh player, it's hard for me to judge a lot of the cards that are very good in casual such as the proliferation spells and +1+1 counter synergies because there aren't really any viable strategies of those in cedh currently. However, I agree that Warren Soultrader is going to be an absolute staple in casual and competitive. The combo potential is insane, basically another phryexian altar. Great video, please make more set reviews :)

I kinda have to agree that there are better black board wipes or even black removal than Final Act. Toxic Deluge, Meathook Massacre, Terror Tide if you're playing a graveyard incursion deck. It feels like they tried to make a Black Farewell which makes it feel very mid as it falls short. Horribly.
I think Shilgengar fits really nicely in your tier list and he seems like an awesome commander to build, I am super excited to try him out! He isn’t super insanely game breaking but he’s definitely a strong character! Love the video and I hope to see more of these!
Appreciate the video. It's good so far! Plan to continue to watch it. As for a ranking I agree with. I agree with the ranking of Final Act. There are cheaper board wipes and better ones. It's a pain when you can't get rid of indestructible creatures. In addition to that. The Meathook Massacre is way better!

@@nicplz for me it's between Meathook and Farewell. I would only use farewell if it's early in the game and the mood is chill. I prefer to read the room before doing something that detrimental.
Although I agree with quite a few of them I have to say eldritch immunity is A almost S considering the amount of single creatures that can attack for lethal and it simply cost 1 colorless to target one creature meanwhile your commander only needs to hit 21 to make someone scoop.

I think that almost everything is well placed, except Chthonian Nightmare.
It's a Recurring Nightmare that costs one mana less, it is enough to loop with any creature that cares about the graveyard, and it's an infinite Dockside loop piece. Staple in cEDH, and I think it'll go in any black deck that cares about looping something from the graveyard.
Kinda the same for Volatile Stormdrake. The limitation at 4 mana is meh, but the versatility of being able to sacrifice the creature you took, it can be huge sometimes. Taking a Collector Ouphe and blowing it up is huge, and potentially better than taking opponents Atraxa or Etali.
Two RL, one cEDH staple and the other is banned, with some conditional upside, both deserve the S Tier!
I think in cEDH they are both S-Tier no doubt! We were focusing on casual in this video, though.
Honestly I have to agree with Sorin's spot. Though creating food is an interesting choice.

Tbh all cards are great but if I am to build a commander it’ll have to be from the graveyard overdrive deck both disa and coram just seem extremely fun to play
I didn't even see Horizon of Progress in the leaks! So many util lands, even though it's mainly for other formats, it makes an EDH player like me excited :)

that's probably because it's part of the Tricky Terrain commander deck so unless you watched the full decklist you might have lost it
I agree here ulamog while powerful is scary and therefore will be kill on site commander so i agree with the c rank
normally colorless deck can cast the new Ulamog around turn 5-6 and it is a great choice for colorless deck to deal with combo deck by exile their combo pieces, while threatening other players as well. A for me
I don't really think crabomination is that amazing. It may be able to cast a spell for free, but it's too random for it's effect to be really "good". Loved the video and would love to see more!
In testing it has been pretty crazy for me. Getting a card from hand and from the yard are both zones where there is generally a higher percentage of action. It won't usually be a specific effect, but getting a free card from your opponent on etb is generally pretty solid. You can think of it as being similar to Gonti, but you make an opponent discard and you don't have to pay for the card you take. I think crabomination will mainly be good in decks that are going to be triggering their creature etbs a lot.
I think Herigast is at least an A tbh. I know I’m putting it straight into my Miirym deck. I also have to say, I think Ulamog has got to be at A as well, I think C is a bit low for something so strong, especially with that Annihilator potential!
Ok I'm glad I'm not the only person that sees Ulamogs potential. Combining it with echoes and 2/3 of the opponents library is instantly gone.
If you get the cost reduced and cast it early people will definitely think twice about the ward about cost. And if it swings it can most definitely kill or almost kill that player.
Also they said a discard a card ward is better than sac two permanents..so enough said.
I can 100% Dreamtide Whale being an ABSOLUTE menace in Commander

In my Kamiz deck I plan to play it on Turn 3, then play Kamiz on Turn 4 and target the whale to Connive, hopefully getting a counter on it to hit for 8 unblockable damage and proliferate on later turns 🐋
I think that imskir iron eater @39:44 should be in B tier. I think that 4 mana is quite expensive for the artifact sacrifice.
Well, even if you ignore that effect, this will often be a 2 mana commander (even through commander tax) that has an etb that draws you a bunch of cards. On top of that, if you're sacrificing stuff like Metalwork Colossus, 4 mana for 11 damge over and over again seems pretty busted imo. Usually artifact decks don't have much trouble making lots of mana.

I always try to avoid spoilers when sets are released. I like to be exposed for the first time as I open packs!
This set has been difficult to avoid spoilers, some of the commanders I have seen look fun though. Nada, Winged Wisdom seems insane!
With that, I can only assume that the rankings are pretty good as I am attempting to not see cards before getting a chance to open packs.

I typically do not buy singles for deck building. I feel like it makes my decks stale and less creative

@nicplz you could easily exile a draco. Best way to do it is cast semblance anvil. Now u got a minus 2 to cost best case. Worse case someone destroys it but draco stays in exile. Now u get +16 annihilator 😂
@@nicplzas high as possible, somewhere in like the two hundred range!! With counter doublers and most importantly Isshin, it’s going to be a true commander jank fest

my problem with the new emrakul aswell is that technecally u can reanimate or cheat it into play but then it till as the downside of clearing your entire boardstate , which isn't that wonderfull.

Grist I think needs to be in a tier cause its a one mana Planeswalker perfect for graveyard decks mill and token generation
I also have to disagree that Siege Gang Lieutenant is a great card, there are better ways to ping out my opponents, especially if I'm playing mono red goblins, Krenko, Goblin Bombardment, Impact tremors.
Ya, I don't think the ping aspect is the good part of the card. Getting 2 goblin tokens with haste each turn is what makes it good in my eyes (more if you're doing extra combat stuff). Having extra sac outlets is always nice though as a cherry on top.
@sashajelten329 This is true, and I can agree with that statement. That being said, using Krenko as a commander will ultimately net more Goblins. I think anyway.

I will say talon gates of madara is very well placed sure it ain’t omnipotent but it’s extremely hard to protect yourself from it considering it’s any creature and not just yours it’s a very good card anyone can use and would interested to play
