When I first saw leaks for the ulamog I was convinced it was fake because there's no way they actually made that a card, but here we are
Well they have to justify MSRP for this set.
I thought the same. That's gonna be a very big Annihilator.
@thesamuraiman I'm also thinking about commander where there's a lot of high cmc cards so ulamog could get like upwards of Annihilator 8 or 9
@@eggbinaryI’m awaiting the scenario where an Elf-ball player gets Craterhoof exiled. Then Ulamog proceeds to either 1-shot someone or reset their board state to T0.
@@CaesarShadowKnight 3xactly
Kozilek is justifiable but the other two read like they were designed by a child trying to one up their friends on the playground
Yet funnily enough this emrakul is nowhere near close to being as powerful as sny of the others imo
Kozilek with Strionic Resonator or Lithoform Engine just sounds nuts.
This is easily the weakest Kozilek
That’s because the titans are meant to be a finisher or a flashy threat if ya treat all like that then idk what to tell ya change pods or convince some more rule 0 changes
For people that dont know what madness is. Its a discard mechanic. Whenever the card is discarded you have the option to cast it for it alternative Madness cost essentially negating the downside of discarding a card for cost.
Notably there are lots of and lots of colorless cards that let you loot so actually popping a madness trigger on this is not going to be a tall ask.
@@denshitenshialso important is that madness lets you ignore timing restrictions allowing you to cast it even during your opponents turn meaning this also works as a fog if needed, or just play it opponents end of turn to then swing with all the creatures you stole
I love how nuts goes wizard with the Eldrazis like: now i will play for you, give me all your stuff, now you see your library and field... now you don't
This isnt power creep. Its a straight up sprint.
At this point they are the flash when it comes to power creep...
I play eldrazi, I'm into this crap but PLEASE FOR THE LOVE THE SPAGHETTI MONSTERS BAN THAT ULAMOG!
Eldrazi Horizon 3, there I fix it for you.
That ulamog is busted 😮😃
probably worse than ceaseless hunger in modern
new emrakul is kinda insane tho maybe in an asmo manufacturer shell where u can pop
ur treasures to accelerate into her
And the worst part is Ulamog is a cast trigger, so Counterspell won’t do anything… 🙃
Stifle
Ulamog should be a cast trigger. If you're investing 10 mana into something, it should actually affect the game and it shouldn't be completely stoppable by a 2 mana interaction.
@@lamjeri stifle is 1 mana and anything and everything should have a way to stop
@@tt4001_ I'd disagree. Poison was originally designed to be an irremovable win condition. Sure, you can still interact with the creatures and spells that give poison / proliferate, but once you're poisoned, you have no way of removing the counters (yes, I know about leeches). That's a very nice design imo and I don't think they should ever print a card that specifically removes counters from the spells controller as it completely kills the design.
Stifle is fine, even being U, because it's a very narrow answer. Problem is when you have very generic answers that are also very cheap mana wise. Like counterspells. Then you need to design cast effects to Eldrazi. Otherwise, they'd be completely unplayable and it'd be really weird if the main baddies of the story would completely fold to a random counterspell.
@@lamjeri well sun cleanser does remove counters from a player and ik it a niche but it can be tutored so ways around it
That ulamog is gonna fit real well in my tergrid
that ulamog is gonna make a nice home in my umbris
Ulamog, the Completely Balanced and Fair
someone once played somnenity which prevented ulamog from gaining the counters. so they were just a 7/7 on my side of the board
The new Kozilek is good but you’re still probably better off using Kozilek butcher of truths it’s way stronger.
Kozilek the Great Distortion is the best colorless commander
Don't know why people are so worried about this new Ulamog. Sure it's a 10 drop that will win the game if you resolve it and it stays on board. But it has no built in protection to countermagic and by the time the game has progressed to 10 mana hard casting, anybody can afford to sac 2 lands and remove it with any targeted removal. Only combo decks would be concerned that their win con gets exiled.
With Roaming Throne on the table it would be way worse.
@@-JustHuman- Yeah but that would require a 4 mana and 5 mana sorcery speed combo that doesn't even go infinite. By constructed standards that's practically unplayable.
for the record. the game has only progressed by 4 or 5 mana by the time i summon ulamog. eldrazi decks are built to have rapid mana growth. and path of annihilation as well as teh landscape land cards only made it easier to build mana fast. if im lucky. i can also get my ugin the inneffable out which reduces the cost by 2. and there are also heralds of the end and herald of kozilek who also reduce the cost of your cards
Ulamog feels like the most consistently good eldrazi
Yep ulamog is absolutely the best playable Titan hence the lack of prints vs the other titans it seems.
i think this is saying that lore wise. ulamog may be the smallest. but they are far from the weakest
Bro Kozilek is way weaker than the other two. Or am I wrong here?
Should b stronger in artifact deck but ofc the other two are more versatile but emrakul should be strongest if u build around it
Mozilla has pseudo counter protection for your Eldrazi since so far as I’m aware you can’t counter morph
It sounds less crazy for sure, but it's still a ton of power and draw up to 4 cards. Even stronger with some pre existing board presence
Kozilek has never been as good as the other two, he's always been more of a toolbelt titan, while the others focus on win conditions.
I don't get manifest, do they place the 2/2 on their field or on kozilek's?
Wait why is it 9 mana for 19 power and 17 toughness
The opponent manifests their own cards, you get two 5/4 and a 9/9
I still say that they need to make a generic card that prevents cards from being exiled and make some more cards that prevent sacrificing since we have 3 cards that do it
There's a few options that give you as a player hexproof but yeah the mass exile stuff is real nasty since there's like maybe 5 cards in all of magic's history that pull things from exile and that's usually just to your graveyard (I'm spitballing when I say 5 I don't know how many there are)
MTG: We’ve made a mistake putting so much Ward in the game
Also MTG: Sacrifice ward
This is MUCH better and interesting than just paying more mana, I'm personally fine with ward being other costs than mana
Agreed, nonstandard wards are interesting and more palatable than just pay a bazillion mana. This one is especially fine given it doesnt require something you may never have, like creatures on board, and so anyone can reasonably pay the ward cost unless they are well and truly fucked
Of course Ulamog and Emrakul are toxic AF, while Kozilek, while spooky, is reasonably alright
EDIT: spelling
What does AG stand for
@@jaxmonroe7263 Oh hell. Its a typo, lemmee fix it
annihilator X is crazy
ive seen a few eldrazi cards with annihilator x. one was a planeswalker that i wasnt too sure if it was real or not. but it had -X and the effect was giving eldrazi you control annihilation x
Ulamog makes me want to bring out my old Mimeoplasm deck.
Do it make the strong deck have fun enjoy what you enjoy in the card board game with friends
This isn’t even power creep any more this is power leaps and bounds. Literally the best counter strategy to these cards is to 1) hope they get banned 2) never play anyone who’s running these cards or 3)scooping at instant speed
Stifle exists just saying also hoping a card gets banned is not a counter or strategy not playing with people who are playing the new eldrazi isn't a strategy and nor a counter and scooping at any speed is again not a counter or a strategy honestly I'm not to happy about the new eldrazi because all the people in the community that likes to gripe about cards like these yet they play these cards or other cards just as problematic or strategies that are just as bad but ts OK because they are playing them fairly also everyone online are always bragging about how strong my card is, my deck my combo etc people want these cards want to play these cards but not play against them its exhausting honestly but hey to each they're own
Or a exile or death card?
Commander players can't even think of interaction existing.
Standard players are infinitely worse. Whenever any piece of interaction gets printed it is either banned or rotated out of the game entirely
@@dominicwilson9467 there are two cards banned in standard that can be considered interaction and they are invoke despair and meathook massacre. what are you talking about
Emrakul in Rakdos, the Muscle will be broken.
So will ulamog
I knew that pulling Rakdos from the sample booster that came with my Quick Draw precon was a sign.
@@brysonemery9232💯💯🤠
My guy you have no idea why else you can do in that deck
you forgot about the best one of them all, Herigast, Erupting Nullkite; the one people actually might play in Modern as it has Emerge and gives all your creature spells you cast Emerge. Remember, you can Evoke something out and while the Evoke is on the stack, Emerge Herigast for bonkers value.
Cool, exiling half my library on cast and getting the most insane Annihilator numbers in the game totally isn’t scuffed.
Just play removal and if you get hit by a finisher like that oh no it’s called late game my guy move on it happens in the card game were regardless of level there is some form of competition
I hate to make the "dies to removal" argument, but it's not indestructible anymore so it's vulnerable to board wipes and even combat. Not to mention, would you rather sac 2 permanents and your kill spell or 7+ permanents?
its basically a kicked maddening cacophony built into the card
@@AliceIzuragi6291 nah more like a cut your losses
But exile instead
The only one of these that i absolutely hate already is Ulamog. Yea the other two are powerful but not absolutely batshit broken. Im fine with having a few cards taken from my hand or giving you all my creatures, but exiling half my library ON CAST is bullshit. You get that on top of having a huge threat thats difficult to get rid of. Also note that im talkkng about using these in commander.
Counterspell. You lose the game. Sure, you exiled half the library but you also just time walked yourself which is way worse. (Not to mention the 5 turns prior where it was sitting dead in hand)
Im confused as to why exiling half of your library is a big deal unless you are against mill.
@@concon9107when a card is exiled, it’s gone (apart from very few cards).
That is to say, unless you’re running a few specific stuff, there is no getting those cards back, using them, nothing.
Mill decks have some way to use their mill; the person that exiling your deck benefits is your opponent
you aren't talking about commander because none of these cards are viable in commander, they might be broken in YOUR pod but lol nothing here comes close to competing with any cedh deck.
@@cheddyh4032You aint wrong. 10 mana against cedh will never happen. Even the madness 6.

@redemption101caleb yeah sorry to burst your bubble but if it worked like that it would say "protection from spells and permanents that were cast the turn this permanent was cast"
Love that Ulamog trigger being on cast, so unless you have a stifle, you just get to lose half your library. I usually tell people complaining about stuff like this to run more interaction, but theres genuinely almost nothing to be done about that. Powercreep isnt just annoying at this point, thats outright stupid.
Lets not talk about how annoying it'll be to have to count out your whole library so you can know how many cards to exile, cause this certainly isnt getting cast early on.
Only good part about any of this is that reanimating misses the cast trigger, and misses out on the bigger ulamog most likely, so its clear this really wont be a reanimate trigger.
Side note, man Kozilek is lacking in comparison to past offers. Thank god tbh.
The Kozilek is broken in my opinion. By the time it will hit the table, your opponent's won't have many cards in hand. You can target the two players that are most likely to combo off or remove Kozilek. They can't play their removal or combo piece if it's manifested. Unless it's a creature but then the ETBs won't trigger. So it's draw 4 and 2 opponents discard 2. Or you can target yourself with the trigger and put a lot of power on the board. The new Kozilek card has absurd flexibility.
@@MadisonM1996 note that it simply says that two players manifest 2 cards from their hand. Not that you get to choose. This won't shut off combos unless those 2 cards are all they have in their hand, if they don't yet have it in hand, or is creature based.
@@jamesfilyawDigginGabe it does say "up to two target players"
Ulamog is easily the one that does the least if it is counters. Nobody cares about half their library being exiled.
@@juliandacosta6841 *you* don't care about half your deck being exiled. I don't think most people would be the same.
This particular version of ulamog seems to be the most powerful eldrazi card in the game (and emrakul the aeons torn, of course)
Right!? its kinda crazy that Ulamog is more powerful than Emrakul and the same set. They made V1 Emrakul so powerful they can never make her anywhere near that level again.
Void Winnower would like a word
Bruh, the titans are strong yes, but have you seen some of the others like oh idk echoes of eternity all copy all colourless spells you cast and double all triggered ability’s, like the titians are finishers or big threats that’s it. The real broken eldrazi are the ones that do so much value whilst sitting and doing nothing like say sire of stagnation or void winoer or shifter of skulls that generate so much board control or value, you are either in the wrong pod if you hate these kind of things or guess what it be a card game that has a rule 0 use it and if you can’t compromise move on
120$ to preorder the eldrazi precon lol
And 500 for the collector's edition. 200 to buy a grouping of all four basic precons though
@RegisEon you gota ignore the prelaunch prices
@@Nirashi normally I would agree with you and it probably will apply to the collector's edition absolutely. But I've noticed the eldrazi precons to still be more expensive after lunch then their counterparts and this one has some cards that seem like it'll keep its price
Emrakul is busted because you just need to cast it and then reprieve it. Oops, now you can’t make me sacrifice my stuff, because Emrakul never hit the battlefield. What a sick cast trigger.
“”Just play a 12 mana spell and counter it, it’s busted man, I’m telling you”

@@Uefeti Eh. Ive Seen people whine about this all over Reddit. Nothing new. Red tripple pip. Emmy fits in easier and has no pip restrictions, has utility when you play it normally/madness it in, and, if you have tons of eldrazi-typal mana reduction (welcome to modern), the cost is a bit more easy. Also, it doesn’t have to be my counterspell. Same thing with the other titans with cast effects, you either let it resolve and get nuked or you counter it and it already has had a big effect on the boardstate.
@@adrrian1290
People wine about anything, especially casual players.
12 mana is an absurd cost, and unless you are a looting/madness deck, you will never hit the alternative one consistently.
Also noone in their right mind will ever counterspell this, just to get rid of a 12/12, relying on idiots for your strategy to work is a not a best idea.
For such a cost none of eldrazi titan would ever be viable, simply because you can do better in every color for cheaper
Im brewing svella rn and ulamog seems like a perfect choice for it
Plot a 12 cost with one of the several OTJ cards that let you, play this one while that's still plotted, then this ETBs with minimum P/T 19/19
Doesn’t the opponent gain control of their manifest or am I just stupid
They do, so it's not something you're going to do every time, but it could be used to disrupt an opponent's hand if they're lower on cards, or used as a political tool in a multiplayer game. It's a bit weird, so I'm curious how it will play once the set comes out.
@@MTGRecon I was just asking because you said Kozilek gives 19 power for 10 mana, but one of the manifests is for the opponent. Love your stuff!

Just wanna say these cast triggers are not okay even if they never hit the board the first time they cause to much chaos for just casting them half your library exiled is not okay
I 100 percent agree. I'm just glad no-one plays eldrazi were I play.😅
Half your library exiled isn't an issue. You weren't likely to see those cards anyway, and if you're facing a mill deck, you've already lost if they cast a card for 10 mana
@hawkecrail5186 the problem is colorless has 101 ways to cheat cast (Which is why Emrakul was banned) this not to mention the trigger cloners we are getting in MH3 just kills someone for being cast unless someone at the table has a stifle like effect there's 9 cards in the entire game that work to stop this and only 4 are really playable and you must be in blue or simic to make use of them
If it was an ETB it would way more fair but cast triggers are inherently unfair its why Storm is one of the strongest abilities in the game.
@@hawkecrail5186 if my library was milled then I could get cards back optionally where as this is just gone for ever and leads to a bunch of dumb other stuff most cards that make me mill don’t just work on a cast trigger

Straight into my animar deck they go 🤔🫣
I’m irritated because as I understood the lore, ulamog and kozelik were bound to reality during oath of the gate watch so they could truly be killed and they were. Leaving just emrakul bound to the silver moon in Innistrad during shadows over Innistrad.
This could be from before they were killed. I'm pretty sure modern horizons doesn't have to be in the present.

I’m never one to critique great content, but in the case for Kozelic, if 2 opponents are manifesting 4 cards on your field, and he give +3/+2, isn’t that 9 mana for 29 power? Which is absolutely nuts. I mean they are all nuts. I’m not even going to talk about Annihilate X.

From the top of your library.
Don't be that guy.
it's actually a fair point. exiling half of one's library seems insanely strong, so to balance it out you should be able to choose which cards are exiled.

he misread the emrakul. its always protected from spells. but abilities of permanents it is only protected from them for the turn its cast. and before anyone corrects me. in mtg arena, my uncle tried casting a destroy on emrakul a turn later only for him to not be able to select her.
Well all spells were cast "this turn," so having "protection from spells" and "protection from spells cast this turn" is the same thing. It doesn't care when Emrakul enters, it cares when the source was cast. So a Royal Assassin for example could kill Emrakul any turn after it came out.
@@MTGRecon of course royal assassin would work. if you read what i typed. "but abilities of permanents, it is only protected from them for the turn its cast" meaning as long as its not the turn emrakul was summoned. permanents can destroy emrakul.
@@AliceIzuragi6291 Emrakul can die the turn its cast, as long as the source that’s killing it was cast on a turn before.
@@MTGRecon no. emrakul is protected from permanents the turn emrakul is casted. but after the first turn of emrakul being on the field. it doesnt matter when the permanent was casted. its effects will work on emrakul. so i am now confused by you using royal assassin as a example. because that cards effect is a tap effect that targets tapped creatures. its far past the first turn of emrakul being on the board by the time you can use royal assassins abillity
The exact wording is "protection from spells and from permanents that were cast this turn," meaning Emrakul has protection from any permanent that were cast this turn. For example, an effect like Banishing Light could not target Emrakul, since the Banishing Light was cast this turn. However, if you had something like Royal Assassin that you cast a couple turns ago, if Emrakul were to become tapped (like if it entered with haste or entered tapped because of some other card) you could tap it to destroy Emrakul, even on the turn the Emrakul was played.
So did the elseazi not die?
This is MH3 so it’s not exactly in line with the current story
@@nosrenda1014zhulodok is the cause of Vamprism on Innistrad and this set has Ulalek. Something tells me their deaths are only partial and whatever remained of the 2 fused
The eldrazi didn't die their physical manifestations got destroyed in our reality, they are so powerful they can't enter our reality in their entirety just small manifestations of themselves hence why they had to trap them in the hedrons in zendikar and emrakul in the moon in innistrad I can't remember if Ugin or Sorin said that if they truly enter our reality in their entirety we would be so screwed just the small pieces of themselves that came into our reality warped the crap out of the plains they entered so imagine how much worse it would be if they let more than just small parts of themselves to enter
The thing about the titans is that their physical manifestations were “killed” yes, but only on zendikar, and you cant exactly kill their “true form” which lives in the Blind Eternities (the body destroying cosmic soup between planes that only Planeswalkers (and the titans) can survive in). The eldrazi titans can just no longer manifest on zendikar. However, In emrkaul’s case, she’s trapped in innistrad’s moon. Oh no I need to draw one of my four stifles out of my 60 card deck in 4-ish turns or more
@@Eve..its almost as if this shit is being bundled with a new eldrazi precon
@@Eve.. I would honestly be impressed if this even go cast in anything outside of tron in modern

Hmm time again to hunt god titan Lovecraftian monsters *unlocks card box* cant expect God to have all the fun let the hunt begin once more
The Egyptian God cards anyone?
Nah, the egyptian gods in Yu-Gi-Oh are mostly shit
@@Dile0303 True, but when they first came out they were a huge deal
@@manwithabasicprofilepic I sure HOPE these things don't get powercrept into irrelevance like the egyptian gods
We had to know at some point they would bring them back.
The big 3 eldrazi.
The first 3 are still the most bonkers fuckin cards in magic.
The second set of three came out over the course of like 6 sets.
I still think the last set of 3 Eldrazi much worse than this shit.
I’m sorry ulamog the ceaseless hunger just snaps your library away in two turns. Kozilek the great distortion put 7 cards in your hand at all times and was a walking counterspell WITH MENACE.
Emrakul the promised end.
It was a 13/13, flying, trample, mind slaver on a creature that had protection from any instant speed removal. Also you could cast it for fucking 7 mana.
I honestly think that these new Eldrazi are unpowered.
Vorinclex and Sheoldred make these three new Eldrazi look weak bro.
All these target an opponent..... Sooooo
Bolt bend, bolt bender, redirect..... When you sit across eldrazi go izzet.
Stella Lee has never led me astray, plus a few foretell and disguised cards really gets them thinking twice about cast anything
This only works in commander. If your doing 1v1 you can't make them target themselves because they aren't an opponent
@@C0medySeniorz wrong, your taking control of their ability and targeting them with the effect of your bolt bend or other similar effect.
Redirect is only specifically for a spell
Stand proud, you have cooked
@@L1GHTGAMINGbolt bend or deflecting swat does not work in 1v1, cause you don’t gain control of their ability, you just change targets, and they are not a “target opponent” for the purposes of the cast triggers. Something that copies the ability like wyll’s reversal rolling a 15+ will work, but you’ll still exile half of your library along with your opponent
@@C0medySeniorzstill works with emrakul
Ulamog is totally going to get banned from commander.
Ward was a mistake
I know what ya mean should have been hexproof
Fixed hexproof
Sneaky power creep?
What the flip is with Ulamog!?! That’s so devastating. ….oh gosh that was just the first one!?!
2 copies of Ulamog going straight in mono green Tron😃
And the next ban list is
Don't be mad at WoTC, be mad at the guy playing these card and gang up on them with the rest of the table! If you bully them enough, they'll hopefully take it out of their deck!
Hey guys let’s just bully the person who enjoys the cards they like, if it’s that big of an issue go to a different pod
@@avatarius6285 I'll play him but only if I can bring my cEDH deck to keep up
@@jw550w0r9pw my man why do you need cedh to deal with a finisher in someone’s deck, if they are playing cedh then ya that be how it is. But like if they are just having a finisher quit being salty about a beater/finisher to the game, if ya hate it that much move to the next pod or just don’t play simple will it hurt feeling ya but guess what that’s life at some points in time

Some asylum patient came to my pod with the new Ulamog trying to explain how it was fair and balanced… it was not a fun fucking game
The rexile half your library on cast, Eldrazi needs to be banned in commander. Way too powerful.
Hehe. Big jellyfish.
Trying to think how you can cheat it into play and have it so something. All reanimated spells, sneak attack, show and tell, I dobt think these do anything.
Ulamog, the Defiler would find a loving home in my Shalai and hallar deck
ah yes i love it when my magic cards read like yugioh cards 10/10 thank you wotc
