- In 2007 at Bathurst, rain fell on lap 142 across different parts of the track including Skyline, The Cutting and Conrod Straight. Chaos ensued shortly after which led to many cars crashing out late into the race and Mark Winterbottom lost his best shot at winning on the Mountain in spectacular fashion.
I'm a Formula 1 fan, but I absolutely adore V8 supercars. It's the purest form of racing, no assists no bullshit. Just a V8, tyres, and a steering wheel.

Still remember laughing at the 'whoooohooo' after Winterbottom goes off back in '07! Surely one of the most hectic Bathurst finishes.

Don't change engines like how every other racing series are looking to do. V8 engines and real drivers going hard and using hip/shoulder/arms/elbows ... hell everything to win. Even giving it some jandal every once in a while just to steal a 2nd place finish.

It's still decent. Nowhere near the argy bargy of this stuff, but still good contests and racing.

Although I no longer watch Supercars, when I did years ago it was without a doubt one of the most outstanding formats in world motorsport. All guts and glory. Nothing was as exciting to watch as these, even at the Melbourne GP these are more entertaining than the F1 race. And Bathurst, well, absolutely world class track.
Dont know where its headed but hopefully not the same fate as other sanitized motorsports.

+Potaka79 BA / BF won 3 Bathurst and 4 Championships in the period of 2003 - 2008 when those models were used. The Commodores throught that era, being VY / VZ / VE won 3 Bathurst and 2 Championships. Ford won 2 extra championships. That's it. I'm not sure how that is "pissing all over the Commodore"
