I knew pretty much all of it... but you taught me one cool trick. I never though of adding a C4 to an explosive tank. Probably because I run flamethrower + charge. I can ignite it with the flamethrower... but that's only with a head on fight. I could use this to break defenses. Shoot it through windows and boom.
I was camping a cashout waiting for the team with the Vault to come, they were so confident the building was clear they tossed in the vault through the second floor window into my hands allowing me to cashout and start out defense.
Really interesting video on the meta of the game! While I normally shy away from multiplayer games I haven't been able to put this one down! I'm also normally pretty turned off by discussions of meta gameplay optimizing the fun and creativity out of your choices to just focus on winning strategies, but I'm encouraged watching this video and knowing that even if the meta right now may be double medium heavy or healing beam dome shield, invisibility cloak etc. that still hasn't stopped my entire team being wiped by a single light player who knows what they're doing with some throwing knives and the dash ability, or a team of all mediums all stacked with the turret ability creating an impenetrable defense of the cashout. For as much discussion as there might be around the meta of this game, it's not quite as prevalent or dominant as it might be for other games. I must say for it being only recently launched The Finals is very well balanced IMO. Again, awesome vid!
I saw someone put a jump pad on a floor beneath a cash out Box and blow up the foundation, holding the cash out Box and the cash out. Box was just there, bouncing up and down, and no one could convert it to their teams cash out lol.
Praying this game doesn’t drop off, never had so much fun with a new shooter since Titanfall 2. The moment to moment action is such a dopamine hit you don’t even care if you aren’t winning.
@elitedima9672 Something can work as intended, but ultimately be imbalanced in practice, at the same time. Tuning the blast radius or base damage would do alot for build variety. Even ottr admits in the video that its too strong, so don't be that guy.
Seems like a risk though. The C4 is the most potent explosive as it was meant to be, it's also essential to cashout defense. They could very easily make it redundant if they meddle with its stats. A much better solution would be to disallow attaching C4 or mines to canisters, because they have their own purposes and types of damage anyway.@@ShaoShaoMienshao
I really do like Tip 12 for getting friends to play the game in order to make the experience more enjoyable. That’s what I think is simultaneously removing the fun in multiplayer games. As inevitably everyone will realise that groups are better then going in with no one that you know. Perpetuating the cycle of “If the only way to have fun is to 3 stack then I will to”
Very helpful, thank you. It'd be nice if you had a list of the tips at the end though and just did some like finishing statements. That way people can screenshot the tips to remember it more easily.
theres a second type of nuke using exploding mines and fire barrels i saw in a yt short earlier today. combine both those in a loadout youve got duke nukem in the finals
the finals are amazing!! I once got through 2 round in 2 player team with a random (one left the game after winning 1st round), just bcoz we used goo all over the cashout and playsed mines and turets everywhere. Sadly we couldn't win the final round the 2vs3 player deference was too big for us :(
As a light player, cash out is a pain in the ass. I always play the other game mode as light and there seldom a game where I have less than 15,000 objective. Light CARRIES teams in the other game mode
Playing the way you've said does sound like it'd deal with a lot of problems that I have with the game, however, the stun gun is just unfun. The effect is so brutal and long lasting that the only way your going to win against someone when stund is by having a aoe/cone wepon like a shotgun/some sort of explosive

It baffles me how many people cant slow down and play with their team. This game has the same problem that overwatch has with people feeding 1v3 repeatedly.
I hear you as a overwatch player of 7 years. The problem is that this game doesn’t explicitly mention how to properly collaborate with your team same with overwatch
Yeah it's basically just the newbies that treat this game like CoD where you just mindlessly run and gun with no strategy involved. I've noticed they rarely play objective too
I know it’s not the gameplay loop or the maps are built for it but I would love a tdm thing with this game it just feels for good but I’m so ass at the game 😂
Love the heavy shield, but if find the dome more useful to attack/defend, plus the slam charge gives u mobility in the same way, to engage, rush or reposition. The low throw of equipment with secondary fire also aplies to the dome and it gives a more accurate one than the normal throw. Lewis or shotty the meta, but man i love that hammer so much XD
I love how most of the player base is just so clueless like 70% of the stuff you said are just like common fps knowledge and as soon as people switch game their brain just resets😂 anyway ty for trying to put back the knowledge into people's mind so maybe when i solo q i get teamate that look like they have played fps beffore.

Most things aren't broken. It's just about learning how to counter things on other classes with your own class. I think the fact I die constantly is great in stock play for leading ok that happens what now
Interesting point about playing a "boring" play style to win games. I feel like with how competitive this game can be, it's going to be boring to watch if no one is making those insane risky plays.
I think the question for me is... as a heavy-focus, how to play with a light player? Feels like Light players make pub Octane players looks smart, which is saying something!
You don’t. I play light and I try my best to follow my heavy, but not beside, mostly as a light I play on the outskirts around my team that way I can scout, ambush or redirect attention to an opponents team. They are more prone to dying first and easily if they’re in combat all the time. You as a heavy focus should stick with the medium. You only help the light when they jump in combat with you.
@@Cookie-ht6my K. So basically: 1) if I have one light, I do my best with the other teammate, where both of us do the objective and trust in you killing team off 2) If I have 2 light I shall jut grab a hammer and wreck stuff because I am toasted
@@Jestersageif you’re H with two Lights hopefully those lights are going to be playing with you and taking angles on enemy. If you have shields I’d recommend equipping those for survivablity.
@@jarenford9088 Always go for Shield. In fact seems like every H runs the same (even when checking various content creator): Shield, RPG, C4, Dome. Primary is either shotgun or Lewis with an occasional flamethrower.
I'm wondering now if you've realised that light players are some of the best shooters and smartest players in the game? A lot of heavys are just kids trying to show off and blow up buildings, with no strategy or focus. If you're playing with a light you must be aware that they have the lowest health in the game and will most likely die more than you if caught in crossfire (with multiple ways of being taken out with one shot/hit) and rely on medium and heavy for those revives. If they're a good shooter and contrubting to the team by setting up/stealing cashouts, you need to make those allowances and help them stay alive. A lot of lights have to play risky if engaging in the mass shootouts and often act as a decoy and sacrifice themselves for the team.
Loved the video. I personally won’t be playing meta as I don’t play for wins I play for fun but it’s interesting to see what the best plays are so I can remember them when needed haha
Playing meta is not only about winning, it's about enjoyment as well. You will, not maybe, WILL have a tougher time playing the game without running anything meta and if you run SOME meta, it's still meta. Each class has 3 abilities, you're not going to choose the worse one just to not be meta, same with the guns. You're not going to pick the worse weapon just not to be meta so just stop that talk now. Every game has a meta, you can do what you wish but acting like meta is bad or you shouldn't play to win or it's better to "just have fun" is complete nonsense. Everyone can have fun here, meta or know meta, but each comes with some facts and realities, and everyone desires to win, even playing anti-meta, it's just that people want to win with non-meta things to make a statement about "See you don't need to play meta".
Best tip I have is to learn to play light before you actually choose that class on ranked. And I don't mean "git gud", I mean actually understand what you have to do as a light; lights are useful for melting down enemies amidst the chaos, and doing rapid assaults, but if I see one more fucking light getting 2 meters away from a heavy with a shotgun, stunning them, and then not even moving sideways I will scream. THEY CAN STILL SHOOT. As a light just pave the way, or open fights by creating a 3v2 scenario out right, don't just run off into 1v3s in hope of getting kills. Every time I see a light on my team I go "oh no, we've lost", and I think I've had a good light 3 times. Same goes for other classes, heavies going all in thinking they are indestructible and dying in 1s flat pretty much seals the deal...
I dont have problems with mines and rpg, but the ammount of it on a map is insane, each player has 2 and then do all 3 of them which is 6 and most people run no light so do that by 3 again and there is roughly 18 mines on the floor at all times Impossible without glitch granades but you can mby manage./..
Yesterday I lost a final in a 3 v 2 situation. Most of randoms dont know you can destroy the hanging platforms and are straight up dumb. Its frustrating.
I didn't need voice chat to learn what you can destroy, there's an entire tutorial and practice room, TH-cam vids and just watching the game when you play. Sure voice chat is to communicate, but why do we play these dumb games as if common sense just is not a thing? And the person commenting could not have a mic or it's broken, you have no clue.@@Qaw3n
I just jpined the game on season 2 and only after 3 matches i killed 3 people in a row saving my team getting all the vaults and cashouts i think i got like 17 kills in my second game
Well.. for sure its not unplayable. I get Matches with 25/8 just with the Double Barrel and Invisibility. This isnt Call of Duty, you cant just Run around and Teamwipe Solo. You also cant do that with Heavy bc hes to slow. Play with your Team, Roam, use Stuns/Taser mb the 1c4 and the Barrels. or whatever you like. There are also Maps where you can Snipe really good. You just have to Hit your Shots. Beeing onehit from a RPG is for sure not nice... but a Heavy is also 2 Shot from the Double Barrel. You can do that for sure.

Most fun I’ve had in an MP game since apex
Praying this game doesn’t drop off, never had so much fun with a new shooter since Titanfall 2. The moment to moment action is such a dopamine hit you don’t even care if you aren’t winning.
The first name I heard for your first tip 'the nuke' was special delivery and im sticking with it
I love how quickly a few of these things have become outdated. Not many, but things like class gadget picks
the question, are they gonna nerf the c4 on the red canister?
I think maybe nerf them to not kill heavies with 2 c4s. Every other class (Medium or Light) will stay the same. I have mixed opinions about this
Why? Are you mad because people are using c4 exactly as the way it is supposed to be used?
@@elitedima9672boring with no skill 😂
Right now, I don't care about winning at all. The combat with the light class and dash is so addicting, I just wanna get more kills😅
I haven’t had this much fun on a game sense battlefield 1
I was completely unaware that you could combat the poison gas and the fire, thanks !
I really do like Tip 12 for getting friends to play the game in order to make the experience more enjoyable. That’s what I think is simultaneously removing the fun in multiplayer games. As inevitably everyone will realise that groups are better then going in with no one that you know. Perpetuating the cycle of “If the only way to have fun is to 3 stack then I will to”
It's hard being a light main but that's when I have the most fun. Mostly solo queuing because squads are only looking for H or M
Very helpful, thank you. It'd be nice if you had a list of the tips at the end though and just did some like finishing statements. That way people can screenshot the tips to remember it more easily.
this game feels like tf2, can’t really explain how but it brings me back. kinda fun to grind as an adult now.
This game is perfect!!!! You can work around anything if the team just works together and isn’t scared.
Yeah, it's just got a bunch of bugs and a ranked mode full of Chinese rage hackers. Other than that, it's fun.
thank god they fixed the hacker problem@@elimgarak1127
Lol, it's not perfect
had a whole 2. teams fight on the bridge me and my other heavy running rpgs double team wipe and man was it satisfying
theres a second type of nuke using exploding mines and fire barrels i saw in a yt short earlier today. combine both those in a loadout youve got duke nukem in the finals
Damn ottr pulling in the views! Love to see it ❤
The finals just needs more streamers to play. I’m expecting its popularity to rise during the week of Christmas.
the finals are amazing!!
I love this game with such a passion even tho I’ve been getting annihilated I can’t stop playing
chill ottr, soon this gonna make everyone good and then the 1% is going to go back to the 99%
I have a medium build with turret, frag, goo, and gas mine for cash outs. Cash stations are untouchables hahaha
Haven’t had this much fun in a game since peak ow feels nice
2:15 the like button glows when he talks about pushing it
2:44 you forgot to tell about the crane that leads to that position, which can be blown up as well
Playing the way you've said does sound like it'd deal with a lot of problems that I have with the game, however, the stun gun is just unfun. The effect is so brutal and long lasting that the only way your going to win against someone when stund is by having a aoe/cone wepon like a shotgun/some sort of explosive
Man I remember watching your videos when you were at 5k subs and I thought you had a real grasp on making content. Figured it was only a matter of time for you to pop off. Glad to see all this time later you've done super well. Great work on the videos!
8:00 I think every thing is balanced expect invisibility If you don’t have recon senses or sonar nades you’re cooked if you can’t shred them instantly
Let’s run it up together
@emoji8615
I've noticed they rarely play objective too
I know it’s not the gameplay loop or the maps are built for it but I would love a tdm thing with this game it just feels for good but I’m so ass at the game 😂
i like this kinds of videos, imagine if every player of watches this video to get ahead of the other players no one will be ahead of anyone
yeah that's pretty much how a sweaty playerbase is created
Love the heavy shield, but if find the dome more useful to attack/defend, plus the slam charge gives u mobility in the same way, to engage, rush or reposition. The low throw of equipment with secondary fire also aplies to the dome and it gives a more accurate one than the normal throw. Lewis or shotty the meta, but man i love that hammer so much XD
for tip #15 i assume u saw my clip and thats how u found out, but swinging it around doesnt have the same effect as throwing it
when you were talking about the like button my like button on youtube started glowing... i swear
Btw can you explain to me how I started playing with a trio I would easily get like a 3.2kd and then I started playing solo and it feels like my mates are like way worst then me. I'm curious on how the matchmaking works ty again😅
I was actually late didn't even know the game was out until about 3 days ago scrolling through TH-cam so i downloaded it and was impressed the game is legit fun 😮😂
The heavy meta needs to be adjusted, also maybe reducing the ttk by one bullet and the defibrillator being put down to 1/2 uses
I am already ahead of 99.9% of players by having the "fatal florist" achivement.
Nice video man, cheers
havnt been excited to play a game in a minute cant wait to give this a try
Fun fact about shotguns, aiming doesnt affect the spread at all, if you dont believe me go test it in the training room
I was watching this when I realized that you killed me. I was Rainer in the #1. I am honored to be one of ur eliminations.
💯thank you for making this
I think the question for me is... as a heavy-focus, how to play with a light player? Feels like Light players make pub Octane players looks smart, which is saying something!
You don’t. I play light and I try my best to follow my heavy, but not beside, mostly as a light I play on the outskirts around my team that way I can scout, ambush or redirect attention to an opponents team. They are more prone to dying first and easily if they’re in combat all the time.
You as a heavy focus should stick with the medium. You only help the light when they jump in combat with you.
@@Cookie-ht6my K. So basically:
1) if I have one light, I do my best with the other teammate, where both of us do the objective and trust in you killing team off
2) If I have 2 light I shall jut grab a hammer and wreck stuff because I am toasted
This game is harder on solo queue. A pre-made with coms makes the game so much better.
tripple light invis is alot of fun too
Quick tip You can kill enemies with the defibrillator
I hope the apex streamer crowd doesn’t ruin this game too
Why do you recommend putting the C4 on the side of the can that’s facing you?
Everyone can have fun here, meta or know meta, but each comes with some facts and realities, and everyone desires to win, even playing anti-meta, it's just that people want to win with non-meta things to make a statement about "See you don't need to play meta".
if u play double heavy and medium light player can easy counter you with glitch granades light is the best class after medium cuz defib
Some cool tips this game is super fun
I dont have problems with mines and rpg, but the ammount of it on a map is insane, each player has 2 and then do all 3 of them which is 6 and most people run no light so do that by 3 again and there is roughly 18 mines on the floor at all times
Impossible without glitch granades but you can mby manage./..
great tips! Keep up the videos! :)
Must have already known these things. Helped me lay a turd on your team the other day. Which was hilarious because randoms are rough in this game.
They should add a small battle royale
I only liked cause it did some funny animation when you said “like”
Yesterday I lost a final in a 3 v 2 situation. Most of randoms dont know you can destroy the hanging platforms and are straight up dumb. Its frustrating.
Maybe try telling your team that.
@@crashnbyrne If only they were in voice chat :)
Nukes are dirty af, someone did that to me last night and I haven't played since 😂😭💀
God bless you all and have a wonderful day ❤
I just jpined the game on season 2 and only after 3 matches i killed 3 people in a row saving my team getting all the vaults and cashouts i think i got like 17 kills in my second game
This game made me learn to shoot again
I love this game so much
Triple Medium seems to be OP against most of the player base
Underhand throws on console can be done by pressing the aim button while holding a grenade
The Finals is balanced he says, when Light is just downright unplayable. You're a literal twig in a meta of Medium Heavies.
Well.. for sure its not unplayable.
I think the issue with light is too many things 1 shot it. Rpg, nade launcher from M, shotty 2 shot from H. Nuke as he explained. 1 shot from sniper. Due to so many 1 shots, cloak is essentially mandatory for L
@@enexo9882Double Barrel + Cloaking device + Glitch Grenade is basically the only viable setup against players with good aim, because its an instant delete, unlike other Light weapons.
If there is really only one viable build for your class in ranked, then it is not a balanced class, and it needs help.
skill issue
What does “specialises in hit and run tactics” mean for you? It’s a light for that reason.
Gotta do something about cloaking. Its free as fuck and during the of battle damn near impossible to track the little buggers
holy crap i didn’t even know you could place more than one c4
Actually 1fire barrel and 1c4 can kill a heavy if done correctly
