As you know, I really like talking to breeders of all kinds. Breeding is breeding, and we can learn so much from great breeders, no matter the animal they are breeding.
I too raise and breed pigeons, and having the opportunity to Interview a pigeon breeder has been on my bucket list for a long time. I was recently introduced to one of the top pigeon breeders and racers (Frank McLaughlin). The best part is when it comes to health care and disease prevention, I couldn’t have done better than Frank McLaughlin. He thinks a lot like me.
In this interview, we will talk about why it’s best to stay away from antibiotics and medications. We will discuss a very interesting concept on improving the strains health, by challenging the strains immune system. And, we will compare pigeon breeding with chicken and gamefowl breeding.

Frank McLaughlin Bio: Frank is from Massachusetts, and is one of the leading Racing Pigeon Breeders in the country. He is a tremendous promoter of natural health, and has a popular TH-cam channel (McLaughlin Lofts). He is also famous for his "keep it simple, no nonsense" approach to pigeon racing topics. most strains of chickens today are so non-resistant just trying to see which ones are resistant will result in a loss of your entire flock
You might be right. I will be willing to bet that it would be a small percentage. However, I do encourage every breeder to work towards resistance and get away from antibiotics and medication’s.
The business side of things in racing pigeon they promote crossing -- there is lots of money to make in racing pigeon (auctions). During your conversation he mention about those old line that he go back. One good example of great line is Janssen line if you would want to research on it Kenny--- The Janssen family develop this line of pigeon for racing with a very high rate of success and its pure when they race them.

I think there is a balance when it comes to cleanliness. I mean I have gone to other farms and the chickens water looks like tea. The only reason they drink it is that they don't have a choice.
