I just switched out the Bose QC45 for the QC and so far the ANC is noticeably stronger than the QC45. The things I could hear before I can't can't hear now. What I do like about the Bose headphones is being able to switch out the earcups. I'm going to replace the one's that are on the Bose QC with wicked cushions because my ears touch the drivers.
Also... just so you know, Just a few days ago I bought the Bose QC45's mostly based on your initial review and the 1 year update videos. Because I have been researching the best quality wireless BT headphones I can get that do not have touch controls, And I am very happy with my purchase, So... Thank you for the in-depth reviews that helped shape my discission.
I just got the QC45s and im ok with that. I only use them for NC anyway so i dont turn it off and dont need to spend the extra $$. Im happy to wait a few years.
A big complaint with the QC45 is a pause in sound every so often when you have paired with more than one iOS device. Also the microphones tendency to be attenuated. Please integrate these into the comparison somehow
Did they fix any of the QC45's quirks? For example, unlike the 35II's, when you plug in the 2.5mm jack, the 45s always reset their volume to a very low level. You have to manually raise it back up each time.
Great quick review as always! I’m really disappointed with Bose’s new Ultra line. As I said few days ago, the battery life is disappointing, and now seeing that the leatherette feels plasticky, it’s clear to me that the upgrade is not worth it. I do want to see how the sound and ANC compared both to QC45 and Sony’s flagship. 😁👍🏻
Because isn’t leather neither fake leather, this is the same material as those harddrive cases which is EVA foam with some coating on it. (Or sponge with a coating on it in this case)
I’m looking to buy a pair of Bose headphones this weekend. Would you recommend just getting the QC45’s? Or spring for these if I don’t mind spending the extra $25?
Bose is going to make sure there is enough different between these and the ultras. Thwy dont want consumers going for the mid range if they offer ths same features. I'd bet the nc, sound quality and call quality are about the same as the 45s and the ultras have improvements for these.
Haven’t they got a another model called Bose QuietComfort Ultra what’s the difference between these you just done a quick look and the Bose QuietComfort Ultra
right now i am looking at both of these...QC45 are 299 ( Canadian ) 218 ( US ) and the new QC are 379 ( Canadian ) 276 ( US ).......which would you recommend as i am without anything currently......great review by the way....thx....cheers from Canada
Should I upgrade my QC45 for the new Bose QuietComfort? the Bose QuietComfort are a Gamechanger and every other company will follow suite. Love the new LOGO on the Bose case.
@@gtbigdog3507at least the Bose don't have the automatic ANC that the XM5 have which sucks for sudden noises in case you want to study in a library for example
If you are looking for the prior ones Walmart usually takes awhile to update to never models. Not sure it they’ll be on sale but if the leatherette is an issue or if there is another reason the prior QC45s are preferred there ya go.
Hopefully they addressed the issue with the cushions coming apart. Happened to 2 of my Bose H/phones. Don't expect that from Bose, probably have to switch brands.
If I'm not mistaken, every Bose headphones since the QC25 have cushions that break down over time because the insides are not stitched but instead glued with thermal glue. I don't think they would ever want to stray from this way of making their cushions or else nobody would buy their 35$ replacement pads.
Or at least modify it, the Momentum 4 you can't turn ANC off but I can move the slider to the middle and it feels like is off, but just having Max ANC or Max Ambient doesn't work for me.
Maybe a silly question but is it possible that the leatherette varies between pairs (like maybe this was a bad pair but others would be better)? Thanks.
Thanks for this. Really looking forward to your review of the 2023 QC and new QC Ultra (non-Buds) versus QC45. Could you please get the scale out and weigh the cans to down to the gram (weight, not Instagram lol). Thanks for all your great work! Liked and subscribed!
After getting a new pair of 45's for $200 the newest ones aren't gonna be worth it to me. So far, it seems you're getting an in-wire mic, and a software feature that is locked out for the 45s (adjustable ANC). Battery life is quoted being the same, as is the build and case.
If you look at the QC ultras weight, its just a hair heavier, I think maybe by 10 grams? Hopefully not a deal breaker for me because the reason I love the 45 and 35ii is because of that amazing comfort and light weight. How did you get these early? Do you also have the QC ultras?
So far It looks like these are exactly the same as the QC45 just with a few cheaper materials a new colour and a £100 price increase. unless there is some serious upgrades to the codecs and speakers, it would be a pointless upgrade or overall purchase.
@@GYMCADDY Well unless they have added LDAC / APTX HD codecs into the headphones, I can't think of what else they could have done to charge an extra £100, been as we already know that the battery life is still the same as the 45's. I doubt they will sound any better. So hopefully your next video will lets us know how they compare sound wise ?
Unrelated, but are you still experiencing the bugs from the momentum 4. Im about to pull the trigger on a pair and was debating between these and the xm4s
Thank you for commenting on comparing the artifical leather. When I brought Sony WH-1000MX4, I thought the leather was durable comfortable enough to wearing long period (both daily and the shelf life). But even when I take care with rubbering alcohol and putting in the case, leather feels squashed after few months on wearing it, and I'm afraid it might harden too. I'm hoping the Bose's QC Ultra leather would be same or better quality to Bose QC 45 and Sony-WH1000MX5.
I'll tell you my experience with Bose QCs. I have had the QC35ii, the sound was very acceptable and its comfort was unsurpassed. I wanted to upgrade to the QC45s and the sound quality was a step back (very squeaky and unpleasant). I returned them. They are still very comfortable but the Bose Music app is a joke. Now come the new QCs (without numbering), with an unjustifiable price increase. Bose is squeezing the lemon too much.
Same. I tried the QC45 and kept my QC35II instead. I have ordered the QC Ultra now, will keep them if they are an improvement, will return otherwise (90 days to return when ordered from Bose). Hopefully, the QC Ultra will have better sound, better ANC and better call quality than the QC35II. They probably will, since they seem to be the NC700 with a QC look.
Too many damn headphones on the market now; sh is getting ridiculous. I remember when one model of headphones could easily stretch 10 years of use; now they want you dropping $300 bucks every year for a tweak. Then you had maybe 5-10 options. Now you got 500.
I just hope one day bose will actually start making better sounding drivers rather than using DSP correction all the time pushing their old outdated drivers to their performance max..
Behind in audio compared to who? Their competitors include Sony ANC BT headphones, Beats, and Apple I guess. For the most part reviewers prefer Bose sound and for slightly less $$ too or a lot less $$ compared to apple. If you're comparing them to audiophile wired non ANC headphones then okay sure but that's a whole different category. Please let me know who are they falling behind too in the Bluetooth ANC category? So I could buy them lol

Gotta be the best color headphones I've ever seen. Bose never disappoints with the colors. Very neutral even for a green.

I'd like you to do some research to see if the multi-pairing problem was resolved under the multipoint you had on the QC45 from this headphone.

M4 for sound quality, QC for ANC

In the UK QC45s are £100 cheaper than the newer model, worth getting the newer one? I don't see much difference though.
