Thank you for your candor. Every time there’s a VS video I can tell right away which one ppl like better. You were fair in this assessment. Not favoring one or the other. Just straight information. You are rare.
Great great video - SO ON THE FENCE on this one!! I have both. QCs, the buttons, the ease of use, and the reliability are huge plusses - the comfort is there but the Utras are more comfortable. Much harder to use for only 2 buttons. Pairing issues - connectivity issues - Sound quality is excellent. Wish they were louder, but the clarity really shines. You have to hold down the button for a long time to turn on, then it pairs, but the app said you are not paired. Its frustrating to find the volume slider and it wil take a lot of use to see if it is worth it. I now understand the Snapdragon, and yes the ability to go to Immersion mode is most likely worth the price of upgrade.
I can’t decide what to get, they are both on sale, I’ve had the Bose quiet comfort 35s for like 6-7 years, absolutely amazing headphones I’ve loved them dearly. I also love how they barely feel anything on top of my head. Like a cloud! I feel like I love the look of the quiet comforts better than the ultras but im wondering if I should ditch the looks & spend a bit more to get the ultras. I’m so stuck & im terrible at picking between things lol.
@ I think I’ll just go big & get the ultras honestly. Be cool to have the best headphones they got that’s what I’m starting think. It’s only like 80$ more so I think it’s worth the upgrade
I Just purchased these, I think they will be more durable than the Sony WH-1000XM5 I had that broke when I fell asleep with them on ONCE sitting on a couch. The right ear snapped at the swivel mount. There is only 1/4 in of metal that sticks into the band on the XM5s.
I feel like all these "new" models of headphones uses these materials that can easily breaks. I feel the same on the Sony WH-1000XM5. The light weight materials along with how thin the band is making it super easy to break. I guess I am just used to how the older headphones having retractable metal bands that feels more solid.
@techbyleon sry but saying it's not durable vs saying it's fully made outta plastic is completely different! And yah, I have tasted it many times, compared with other headphones, I finally decided to order, and I did even. The build quality is great, better than XM5 which looks cheap compared to price.
Hi, I just brought the quiet comfort, not ultra. While testing ANC, I realized the filtered noise are always louder on the right side, is this also try with your “QC” and/QC ultra? Also, comfort is very important, but I also preferred my music loud, clear and clean but also heavy bass. Does the ultra have more bass than the base QC and louder? Thx
I am with you 💯 That's what I want to know. I got a pair of the regular Quietcomforts (b.c they were on sale for $160) and immediately compared them to my QC45s and I have to say I absolutely sick of people saying that they just that new Quietcomforts are just the QC45s with a new name. They are not. They sound so much richer, and the bass slaps- it's deep, heavy, satisfying and doesnt muddy the rest of the audio. I listen to a lot bass heavy music as well as audiobooks, so I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to change the sound profile at all to listen to the books- that's how good they are at handling bass and not being muddy. Of course I wish the regular Quietcomforts' ANC was as good as the Ultras- but if the sound profile is different, i.e. increasing the bass in the EQ makes the profile muddy, that's a hard pass for me.
@@ragamuffinm2834 I feel you, not many ppl pay extra attention on very fine detail on sound as a normal user/buyer..... But for me, I am picky... After some long hours of testing the Bose quiet comfort and also a quick visit in bestbuy to test the Bose Ultra, I end up returning the bose and went with my favorite(sort of) brand Soundcore. Interestingly I like the Q20 and Q20i the most(I owned both and few others soundcores earbud/headphones) That's if you get a good pair. One issue with soundcore is quality control, you really have to buy it multiple times to ensure you get a good pair, I'll say about 1/3 of chance I'll get bad pairs of soundcore product, volume unbalance L/R issue, missing clarity on mid/high, low volume, poor ANC on some models. Bose is ok, but the deal breaker for me is that Bose ANC cannot be turn off like the old models. At least the version I got, I get really bad "carbin pressure" from that Bose ANC, makes my head/jaw hurts. To my ears - Bose - best highs(treble) and mid, but bass is just ok, clean but not heavy enough for my taste. Unable to turn off ANC so the battery is about 1/2 of what you can get from soundcores. 20(BOSE) hours vs 40+(Soundcore) hours Soundcore - Overall ok treble, mid and bass heavy, it's not BOSE clear, but ok all around. Flexible 7-band EQ, great battery and of course way cheaper than Bose. Mainly I don't get "carbin pressure" feeling like Bose after 30+ mins usage. I either normally don't wear them much, or wear them for long hours, travel and on my computer. So comfort is a must for me. Not trying to advertise anything, just saying Soundcore somehow works better for me than Bose. By the way, I almost went for the Bose ultra, it's a step up comparing to the quietcomfort line, I don't know if carbin pressure still true since I can only test that model in the store. but the volume sliding control was also something I absolutely hate... Good luck finding your 'perfect' headphone!
I picked me up mines on a super double excited lay away kinda killer deal bro. I would say the da QC edges but the Ultra works danm good. I will switch it up wiv da Senns an' da Sony B&W x8 Focal type vibe moving forward. Am I like one of u guys now with coming from ZMF wiv a Bottlehead Crack/ VIOLECTRIC set up warmer sound via dupletox?
So the difference between the two is just a couple silly features that are pretty much in other head phones? I have my Air Pods Pro 1st Gen and they already include that features. You'd think immerse audio would be a standard feature in all these high end headphones. I just bought the Bose Quiet Touch on Amazon for $200 while their Prime Sale is going on. Something tells me they are not going to be a disappointment by any means.
i definitely didn't like the sound of the plastic yokes on the ultra, when you were tapping on it lol , they sounded pretty decent tho in your sound demo , enjoyed your review!
Great video! It was really helpful and I really enjoyed the sound test. Idk why people are so hung up on what the headband is made of lol. Anyways I bought the Beats Studio Pro but did not like at all. I like my headphones with bass. I will be exchanging them for the Bose QC.
The slider is made of metal. The whole headband is made from plastic, metal and foam. Plastic is used to keep the weight down also it's comfortable to wear for a longer period whereas a whole metal headband is not practical for a longer period, just look at Apple's one, uncomfortable to wear for a longer time.
I've read a lot of complaints about plastic creaking noises with the ultra? (& people getting new pairs and still the same problem) I'm using XM3's and good old QC25's (because I want wired & easily swappable batteries for gaming). To me the QC's beat the XM3's hands down as for comfort, so I'm scared to go for a new design that looks more like Sony's than good old QCs. But most importantly, Sony's do have that nasty creaking plastic noise whenever you move your head around, which defeats the point of NC. If the QC ultra have the same issue that's pretty bad. Both QC & ultra are quite cheap right now, but I'll probably go with normal QC for safety.
Another outstanding review. I love the part on which the sound follows where the direction of your head when tilting. It's amazing to know that it is capable of mimicking the actual spacial awareness sound performance. Btw, i didn't skip ads to show my support. I am now experiencing powerful bass with JBL TUNE 520 headpones! All thanks to your previous review in comparison and sound test. That helped me find the right fit for me on a budget scale. 🎧🔥 Keep it up Leon ! 💯
