The company continues to grow and is set to branch out into the skin care market this summer. Peach & Cognac will release on July 4th, 2020 after a short period of members only sales through the Shaving Shop Club. Peach & Cognac is a beautiful gourmand accord featuring notes of: Bergamot Lemon, 2 wonderful, but uniquely different Peach notes, Orange Blossom, Cognac, Tobacco Absolute, Mimosa, Leather, Vanilla, Dried Fruits, Oakmoss, Sandalwood and Himalayan Cedar. The fragrance screams summer time. The opening of ultra realistic ripe peach dominates the nose briefly before the accord begins to evolve into a fruity bouquet that is complemented by powder, creamy earthtones. This is an absolute masterpiece. Mrs. Ruds adores this fragrance and approves of it for use on any occasion. Strength of scent is strong off the puck and remains strong once lathered. Try That Soap (trythatsoap.com/) recommends Zingari Man The Gatherer as a comparable scent profile.
Kaizen is the latest soap base from Ariana & Evans. Ingredients can be found here: Kaizen Shaving Soap. This is a mid-firm soap base that is of extreme thirst but is a mindlessly easy lathering soap. Water is your friend when dialing in this lather. The resulting lather will have the consistency of marshmallow fluff. Slickness is amazing, so slick that rinsing your hands is required before grabbing your shave tool of choice. Elite in class in terms of slickness may not do it justice. The post shave brings an already best in class post shave to another level. It literally feels like a high end moisturizer was applied to your skin after you rinse the lather away. Ariana & Evans previous base was damn near perfect, but somehow Kaizen eclipses it in noticeable fashion. Ariana & Evans receives a ShaveScore of 101. For similar performance in a soap base, I suggest Wholly Kaw Siero.

So many great peach scents released this summer with this one, Zingari's The Gatherer and a very limited release of DG Southern Paradise. Peaches & Cognac is the only one I have had the chance to use so far, but I have the other two on deck. Happy 4th!

Sounds like an exceptional soap, I'm keen to try another A+E soap but my first experience (Cafe Au Lait) left my face burning once lathered up. It was the Tallow, goats milk and lanolin base but I wasnt able to figure out which ingredient caused the burning.
Chris Chandler It was the fragrance Chris, not the base. It had too much cinnamon & nutmeg in it. It didn’t light me or My girls up (they are testers), but enough reacted where I decided to pull it
@@PeterCharkalis ah, interesting and good to know! I wasnt aware of that at all. A few people I've spoken to that had a similar experience and believed it to be Argan oil.

I had the same reaction to Peaches & Cognac as I did to Choco Lait and I have tried both face lathering and bowl lathering with it. They are the only two A&E soaps I have reacted to. If you reacted to Choco Lait, I suggest skipping Peaches & Cognac and grabbing one/many of their other of their amazing offerings.
Thanks for another great review and shave, Ruds! I'm very surprised that Mrs. Ruds liked this scent so much. Peach & Cognac has been getting a lot of buzz along with the Kaizen soap base itself. I suspect Peter doesn't sleep at all. He keeps cranking out more scents and improved products. And, I still very much enjoy his soap base from ~3 iterations back! Thanks for your thoughts!

Man I love Ariana and Evans, but I stopped buying their soaps because the last 4 soaps I bought it gave me really bad burning sensation. But I’m so happy that I still got 10 of their soaps.

Thank you for the review. I too have seen improvements from A&E in the past two years. However, they have poor customer service which makes them fall short from being a quality business. I received my Peach&Cognac soap and aftershave on July 9th. The aftershave was cracked. A&E told me on July 10,17, & 25th that they would send a replacement and yet nothing. They did refund me after asking for a replacement update. A&E seeks sympathy for being a small mom & pops business but most are in the U.S.

I can literally rub the remaining kaizen I have from a shaving lather onto my skin as an aftershave lotion. No other shave soap can do that for me. Kinda insane. Especially considering I have horrible seb derm and psoriasis. Can't speak highly enough about kaizen and even though I don't need anymore soaps will probably purchase another one just to support Peter. Seems like he really tries hard to produce a sublime soap at a competitive price point.

Hey, Ruds, hope that you're doing decently these days and that the Covid-19 pandemic isn't affecting you much.
I want to give you something that I think you will either want to use yourself, give to a friend or raffle it off among your viewers. It will make no difference to me what you prefer to do with it. Because of your dedication/involvement in wet-shaving and videos, I'd like to give it to you, besides that you've answered me with helpful answers each of the times I've asked you advice.
The item is a completely unused paddle strop and four, I think, completely unused slats that fit onto the paddle by means of velcro. This is the paddle strop that Len Abrams used to sell when his "Straight Razor Designs" website was still functioning. Because I believe I have everything I need at my level of shaving with a straight razor (when I do), there's no sense in using an unused and unneeded "accouterment." So, it won't hurt me to give it to someone who's a "player in the game" and who's helped me generously in the past.
If you're interested, Ruds, give me an idea as to how this could/should be arranged, ok.
