This video might answer the following questions:
Before the engagement my fiance and his family was VERY proud that I am studying dentistry.
After the engagement (before getting married) they started collectively putting stress on me, questioning if my studies are really worth it. I don’t want to go into details but it was bad.
They wanted me to throw away everything and start having babies instead of studying. For them proving that I am capable of studying was enough, getting the degree was rather a problem.
I am 26 now and still not done with the degree, but I don’t regret leaving that engagement at all. At that time I was afraid that what if no one else wants to marry me and I “run out of time”.
Now I feel like I am much more calm, mature, and at peace. I think these are much more important than getting married before a certain age.
With a degree or without, I hope everyone can get married at a time what works for them. If it’s 23 great, if 33 also great.
