As someone who got an award similar to 2:33 in elementary school, everyone else got something cool like "most artistic" or "most athletic" while I "most boo boo's"... I had eczema.
I cried because of it.
what the fuck. that kind of stuff shouldn’t be allowed
You know some teachers out there have some serious insecurities when this is the typa shit that happens to kids
i also have eczema; i feel so bad for you :( i would've cried too, that's a shitty thing to give to anyone as an "award," especially a child
I got “best crier” during a theater summer camp. I have anxiety. My role just required me running off the stage upset, not crying.
Did the kids vote for them like they did at my school? Because yeah kids are so mean. I got called an “android” by a few kids because I’m autistic and bad at communicating and showing/feeling emotions. I got called a vampire by a lot more because I’m very pale and have an iron deficiency because my ARFIDs won’t let me eat most meat.
I did get a “best artist” award in 4th grade tho so that’s cool.
Fun fact, Robin: Most food places do NOT allow fake nails AT ALL.
All the ones I worked or applied to work for did not allow fake nails. No press ons, no at home box ones, not even professionally done acrylics - literally for that purpose.
Also note: The ones that just "pop off" are either badly done or haven't been redone in some time. Any time I've seen them done well or fresh, them popping off isn't an "oopsie, poopsie, I didn't notice" it's a JESUS OD MY FINGER! AAAAAA THAT HURT LIKE A MOTHER -!!"
And yes, this is even with gloves on. Legit had someone bring us a fake nail once ... no one on staff had them [at least at that time, throughout the time I worked there the girls did have them - but not for that entire week and someone tried to claim they found it in their food].
I work in 2 food jobs, everyone basically has (prof. done) acrylics, on the rare occasion someone loses it it's because they were cleaning something and it got snagged, then took their actual nail with it. And I have weak nails, so I've broken more nails without acrylics than with thanks to the strength they add and make me more aware of my fingers.
@@TheStitchpanda Oh legit they do but there are rules against it. Robin's wording made it sound like there wasn't rules against it - was just saying there was. I even agreed that despite the jobs I had having said rules, people wore them all the time.
As for breakage yeaaaah - I've never known someone to lose one that wasn't months old [gross] and untouched up that didn't suffer at least SOME pain.
One girl managed to break the tip off her nail and the rest stayed on. I have had my nails done one time professionally [and 2 times out of a box and glue set] and legitimately dunno how people stand them. Usually by the end of the day I wore them I was like "Take these off me" lol. Never once I was working though since I gave up on being "girl".
Though! I do know despite also not being allowed to use nail polish [chipping concerns] just using polish can help add protection to brittle nails and it's actually recommended to increase vitamin intake and keep nails painted [3 coats usually, base, color and top - if not multiple color coats for opacity] to help nails avoid breakage as constant acrylics can be bad for your nails - but I also heard using short, reasonable acrylics very brittle nails is a good idea [short so they don't snag/catch as often]].
We aren’t even allowed nail polish at mine
A few reasons American stalls are like that:
Make drug use harder (Doesn't work)
stop smoking in restrooms (Doesn't work)
Give emergency access to the person inside (allegedly)
To make them easier to clean (Kinda works, but not really)
To make them cheaper to build (The most likely biggest reason. Barebones construction with cheap plastic walls and big gaps means the materials are cheap and used in the most cost effective way with no regard for privacy or comfort beyond "it's mostly covered, so it's harder to sue us for privacy concerns if someone brings in a camera.")
thats just the usa in general man, it should be our slogan. "United States of America, barebones construction"
In Sweden a lot of public restrooms have more normal-looking doors and tiny rooms as stalls (and usually one larger for the disabled and for parents who need a changing table). Never heard any problems with that. Some places have more American-like stalls, but not all. So, yeah, those aren't required to avoid those things you listed, and in emergencies, police or firefighters are allowed to break down the door.
@@pastel7645 my house is made of cardboard, my bathroom is made of plastic, and I can't afford a pizza without a coupon. 🫡🫡🫡🇺🇸🇺🇸🍔🍔🍔🍔🎆🎆🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@iclynnx like I said, the last reason is the only one that really plays a big part. Even some of the fanciest places here will have inch thick plastic dividers instead of actual walls, because installing real waterproof (or resistant) walls and doors for each stall would cost just a couple hundred dollars more. Plus, at this point, if you tried to suggest it to the people paying for the build, they'd just laugh because this is just how restrooms are here.
The "easier to clean" is kinda true for the gap underneath. Makes mopping easier when the door doesn't get in the way. But like 20cm (~8 inches) is more than enough, you don't need to see my fking kneecaps when I go in. Source: briefly worked as a cleaner in a mall.
As for the gaps on the sides of the door - fuck that, they are horrible

16:10 back in 2020 I told my boss at the time, "hey, I'm getting a flu shot, I normally get sick after them. So on this date, I will most likely be sick and won't be able to work. Please don't roster me for that day." He rostered me, I was sick. I messaged him on the date I mentioned after my flu shot, at 2am after waking up sick and got the response "you should really plan things better". I gave him a full months notice.

1:20 if the water's not sterilised before bottling, the number one risk of exposing it to direct sunlight over long periods is bacterial infection
Not even long periods, algae and sunlight. Usually happens on water that wasnt filtered properly or anything like that. So if you ever come across bottles of water with a green tinge to the water, then there is a chance its not been filtered properly and sat in storage, or even the sun.
The plastic also breaks down
@@Poggersvale I don't drink from plastic bottles much but at this point we all have micro plastic in our blood anyway. It doesn't seem too scary to drink it from a hot bottle anymore. 😢

For the puppy shampoo one:
The first response was from a company trying to sell you "chemical-free" dog shampoo, the second was from the American Kennel Club, an organization that, while imperfect, seems relatively unbiased as to shampoo matters. I am much more inclined to believe the AKC on this one.
8:35 "To open the fucking door"
The fact it just went uncensored made me laugh my ass off XD
Especially, since on the same post the word "D*ck" was censored. So it was not a matter of that post being missed by editor when stitching the posts together.

0:42 We're starting off strong with this one, gang. Hypoglycemia happens, and can be fatal if left untreated. The most accessible care one has in an hypoglycemic event? Sugary treats. Sometimes snacks _are_ diabetes care. EDIT: flopped my terms around. I'm one more than the other, guess which my auto correct is sure I actually mean? lol
You're right! Although I believe you're talking about hypoglycemia haha!
Hyperglycemia is when someone has too high blood sugar. Hypoglycemia is when someone has too low blood sugar.
Well either one giving both are diabities centred one for high one for low, is really nice to help both
I have a friend that is hyperglycemic and i completely agree
Lmao the red cross tells you if you don't know what's wrong with a diabetic person, regardless of it being type 1 or type 2, if you know it's related to their diabetes you give them a sugary treat. This comes from their CPR course btw, which i had to do online to get a highschool diploma and as such just got the whole fucking course because it was cheaper than going to CPR class IRL.
I am certified to perform CPR and use an AED. But you need to know how to deal with poison just to get a certificate, so give the diabetic person some goddamn sugar while you wait for the ambulance.
that pickest camper award really pisses me off because some people, like myself, have sensory issues and PHYSICALLY can't eat certain foods (i remember being scolded so many times for gagging when I can't help it, it's not like I'm purposely doing it)
Yeah once my aunt wanted me to eat this thing she made and said I take two bites before I can go play and I threw up. She always does that and it gets on my nerves because I know what I won’t like.
That really hits me. When I was a kid I would gag and near vomit when made to eat most seafood, and I was ridiculed for "Being Dramatic"
7:30 let us take a moment to appreciate the irony of a single sticker being sold for such a high price while simultaneously condemning greed by saying "eat the rich"
The tape was there to try to pull down the window and break into the car.
Wrong conspiracy theory. Here's what's actually going on. Grocery stores just don't want you to know the price AT ALL until you reach the checkout line so you're far more likely to spend more money than you would if the price tag was where it should be. It should be illegal to not have the price listed right there on the shelf. It's effing disgusting, and I outright refuse to shop anywhere that does this.

Well to be fair, one type of diabetes Requires snacks.
People seem to sometimes forget there's 2 types.
fr
There's three types. If you have a previous disease of the pancreas so bad (think cancer, extreme pancreatitis) that they have to remove it, you end up that third type and on even more medical nightmare scenarios than the sort that sees the immune system take out one of two very important functions of the pancreas. A transplant is not an option for certain kinds of illnesses, as it'll just come right back and be another life-threatening problem. The more you know.

@@YourWaywardDestiny i dug around a bit, i think this is "Latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA)" for people who want to learn more. It works similarly to type 1, but is from the immune system being a shithead and has nothing to do with life style.

7:43 as someone who used to work there a few months ago, i can verify the location of these stickers as FYE. If you find something in FYE you like, look online for it first to see if theres a lower price. Most likely there will be because FYE is trashy and marks up things twice or more what they're worth. 17:57 Phoenix gets so hot in fact that they legally cant turn off you power, because without it there is no AC and people have died from it.
That's really scary. I can't help but imagine all the worst case scenerios where your car breaks down miles away from anyone else and you have no signal or your phone is dead. It's just scary to think about.
the company that does AC repair & other stuff regarding AC units out here is legally required to get everything up and running within 24 hours of it being broken because of how hot it gets
7:30 there's no way they have the rights to use the image in that sticker either, it's specifically a Club Penguin sticker, it's a Disney property, there's surely no way that Disney would allow 'Eat the Rich' to be printed from their family-friendly market. So they're making $6 off of consumers for what is probably an unlicensed product. Which, y'know, steal from Disney anyway that's fine, but if I'm gonna pay $6 for a god-damn sticker I want to see actual art not something screenshotted from a defunct game, idk.
I actually went to the mall were the stickers originated, and they stole more then the club penguin, it's just memes using company property.
In my town, all stores that have had remodels have replaced the wide gapped doors with ones that go further down and have no gaps around the edge. It's lovely.
I used to walk across an aircraft hangar to shit in fully enclosed stalls. Pure bliss
On the price tag thing, for a lot of small places, the price of stuff changes practically day by day, and if we are low staffed, it is easier to yoink the old tag down to replace once the store is closed, than to try and run back and forth between the ONE TAG PRINTER in the front, and every product. My old boss was especially bad, because he changed the prices daily with the vendor, regardless of if he actually PAID that price to get it in, so it was extra awful.
17:49 living in the valley myself, this is insane. Robin's not wrong about Phoenix being hot as hell. Not having water, especially in the middle of the summer is diabolical.
14:50 Fun fact, stalls in America are like that because it makes workers (and by extension, students) uncomfortable enough to not stay in the stalls for too long and encourage capitalism lol
not quite, though that's an interesting take. I would think it's so people doing drugs in the bathroom can be found if they wig out, kind of similar to the blue light bathroom that makes it hard to find a vein. The bathrooms at my work have a code so that people can't just come in and use our bathroom willy nilly for whatever purpose, nefarious or not.
@@ascellaplaysthis right here. people don’t realize the US has a BUNCH of laws and regulations put in place not because they just wanted to but because people have SUED so many times for different things. places want to limit liability as much as possible because who wants to be blamed for somebody deciding to do drugs in their bathroom and od’ing

I visited South Africa to see Kruger national park with my dad the summer between junior and senior year of high school. Going to the bathroom in a fully enclosed stall was a fucking glorious experience, especially after getting food poisoning. Seriously, why does America treat everyone like a fucking criminal? I'm noticing the fact that the price scanning stations every few isles don't exist anymore. Walmart is the most notable example.
Having had family that worked at Walmart, the "official" reason is "Everyone has a smartphone, so they can just use the app to scan for the price".
My boyfriend bought a split house with a tenant downstairs and has actively been trying to afford repairs that should not have legally passed the required inspections for the house to be sold. A pipe in the roof got clogged and flooded the place, and the guy who resealed the roof last fall came next day to check on of it was his guys who caused the issue(it wasn't.) The tenant downstairs who is on a program so she doesn't actually pay rent came out to yell at the roof guy who didn't have to come out because we were already pretty sure it wasn't a roof issue due to other bad pipe issues we found.
But then her boyfriend is screaming at the neighbors how we are terrible landlords who aren't fixing the place when we legally can't fix it for another week or two while we wait for the asbestos test results and insurance has to do like 2 more inspections...
1:20
RED ALERT. DO NOT BUY THE WATER.
Bottled water in those style of bottles is usually made of a simple, cheap and effective plastic: HDPE (High Density Polyethylene)
This plastic is *very* good at lots of things, its main draw being that it is impervious to water. That means it doesn’t let inside water out, and doesn’t let outside water in. However, gasoline fumes and other gross chemicals (flammable liquids specifically) you’d find near a gas pump are not water. They were not designed to keep those sorts of compounds out, and frankly suck at keeping said flammable liquids out. So when you get home with your water and crack one open, it will taste like the exhaust of an F-150.
TL;DR: Don’t buy outside gas station water. Trust me, it’s bad.
Source: My professor with a doctorate, teaching my Plastics & Polymers Engineering course who covered this exact topic 2 days ago lol
Bonus edit: These types of bottles are also designed with additives, just a fancy word for extra resistance in certain places if needed. For example, UV resistant additives will be added for any plastics that are planned to sit out in the sun for extended periods of time. Water bottles do not fit that description, because they’re meant to be kept on a shelf inside a store. They are not resistant to UV either. So along with ingesting that sweet taste of diesel and petrol, you’ll get some nice irradiated microplastic along with it! Happy drinking.
(*Most* of the time polyethylene shrugs off UV rays, the water itself won’t care, however the outer film will most likely crack & become brittle, along with any darker label such as the deep blue of dasani bottles will wear away very quickly, allowing even MORE gasoline fumes to slip inside your drink through permeation. Just asked this question in class and thought i’d add it as well.)
Thank you for the explanation. More people need to read this lovely piece of information; it is quite scientific. I also wish you luck on school!
So, not only did they deprive the whole ass complex of water, BUT IN A DESERT. PHOENIX. OF ALL FUCKING PLACES?!

I have seen friends lose various services because of non-payment. Electricity, cable, etc. Never once have I actually seen anyone have the water shut off for non-payment. I've never bothered to look into just how long it takes before they will actually do that around here, but I've always figured that since it is more than flipping a toggle or checking a box on a computer somewhere, that it took a bit before it was worth it for them to send a guy down to turn it off.
14:35 So the place I work for used to have plantagrams (basically a "how to set shelf for product" guide) for our different departments, however due to never getting certain items in, half the shelves sat empty. In contrast, non-plantagram items were all in top stock not able to be sold as the "free use" space was full. so my work got rid of plantagrames and now has us price each individual item. The only problem is employees are lazy as F. We are technically not allowed to put shelf labels up anymore due to this as once a spot emptys a new product gos in that spot. also we always have customers say "well the price on the shelf says", without looking as what the shelf price is for, when we did have them.

Ah, your landlord didn't pay the water bill, so you don't have water? If water is not explicitly not something provided in the rental agreement... that's a breach of contract and you're gonna have a fun time in court getting your rent back. Put the money into an escrow account for now, so they can't argue that you were unable to pay - it shows that you could've paid, but you were withholding it intentionally due to the landlord making the apartment uninhabitable.

While this may be, a lot of the rules get ignored because - at least in my experience - the managers put basically anyone on anything possible. This leads to a lot of safety regulations to be ignored for efficiency rather than safety
No way it's my favorite Emkay narrator the second time today
Pet peeve of mine was the fake nail in the food: they should never be allowed in food service or health care. They are impatient clean under, and obviously no gloves were worn. My staff had to have short, trimmed, clean nails as part of their hand washing requirements. Even with gloves.
I thought that was already an industry standard 😭
@@violetkalico It is supposed to be for food handler certification and inspections. Many places are lax, and there is a cultural resistance to this requirement. Hair nets, hand washing and gloving protocols are often ignored. I was a nursing manager, and accepted no excuses. A plain wedding band, but nothing else, and even those pinned to your scrubs for any sterile procedure. Nothing that could fall into a patient, or be ripped out was tolerated.
2:34 yeah i got an award for “sweating the small stuff” from my school.
i have history with really bad anxiety 😭🙏
About the bathroom thing, I was on a trip, I was waiting at the airport in Seattle, and one of the bathrooms was like 15 stalls that were all facing each other. The other bathroom, there were only 3 that had their own sinks. It was a wild ride in that airport

My local dollar general does the exact same thing, putting their water bottles on U-Boats and putting them outside. It's gross. Thankfully they have more packs inside but bleh
Give that guy wholesome memes. He deserves it
This new voice actor is pretty good
12:04 His reaction made my day
14:45 they are like that so first responders have easy access to a person who is having a medical emergency in the bathroom stall
Finding out that Robin's middle school didn't have doors on the bathroom stalls is horrifying. How was that even legal??? Teachers would have been able to just walk into the bathroom for any reason and then see students' partially naked bodies. There's no excuse.
And just for the record, in case anyone makes the argument, even if it was an all boys school, that wouldn't make it okay. Just consider the bullying that could happen in that kind of environment, and the serious risk of other students and school faculty taking advantage of the lack of stall doors to sexually harass/assault students. Gross.
1:25 yes there is, microplastics from the bottle get accelerated at breaking down into the water when exposed to sun for a long time
Thats why you shouldnt use them for too long
8:58 the way you said yiro reminds me off the scene in the simpsons , where Homer sees a building with "Gym" writen on it and he is like : "Giime? What´s a giiime?" then he enters and is like "ooohh a giime!" XD
Yes, there is in fact a bad reaction between water and plastic bottles when exposed to sunlight.
0:02 this looks like it was around a piece of paper, someone probably stuck a flier or something on there and then were immediately informed that they could get sued over that
8:34 I have seen one that goes up. I think it was because the door originally had a knob and it broke or something and they only had that handle lying around and that's how it fit in
might have been installed upside down cause it was for the wrong side but i think i've also seen it before where you can turn them up or down and people just dont notice cause they dont try to turn it up
2:36 at my year 7 camp they had a best eater award and it went to THIS SPAZ THAT ATE 1 PIECE OF BACON AT BREAKFAST and BARELY ATE ANYTHING meanwhile this kid that had 4 plates a meal and people literally gave him their plate then everyone got mad and wanted to start a rebellion on the teachers
