Have you ever been a dog foster parent and failed fostering? As you can see I've failed fostering quite a few times! Leave a comment and let me know if you have too.
I’m a pet sitter and love dogs. In 2004 I brought up over 70 dogs from Georgia that were pulled from a couple dog pounds. About half the dogs were litters of puppies. It was the longest 3 months of my life getting all those dogs vetted and adopted. I ended up keeping a mother and her only surviving puppy. ( pups were born with a herpes virus). After that I never got involved with rescue or fostered again. My dog pictured is a rescue I found on pet finder. It’s so hard because you want to rescue all of them.
Oh my gosh...I bet that was a long 3 months! What a job, but good for you!! I completely understand, I fail fostering almost every time or cry when the new parents come to pick up the pup because I get so attached. But, I have been lucky most of the adoptive parents keep in touch and send pics and videos...so that helps!
@@lifestyleofadiyer That is nice that they keep in touch. Veterinary expenses are so high now that insurance has become necessary and I just can’t go through any of that again. I actually wasn’t expecting that many dogs that summer. When I said fill the van because I was paying for it I never expected they would fill it with litters. All scheduled to be euthanized. One litter was 4 weeks old.
That is just so sad they were all going to be euthanized… at least those pups had a happy ending. The rescue group I’m with does pay for all the vet bills, etc but if I can I try to help with the vet costs too…but it is rough some times like you said it has gotten so expensive!
Bichons are the best! An elderly lady that is my friend had 2 bichons one of them just passed away. I felt so bad for her and the little guy that is still alive he seems so lonely now and depressed. I keep hoping that she gets a friend for Valentino. I love the poop bag and might have to make a few for my booth! Great idea and tutorial! How do you upcycle the rest of the denim? Thanks so much for the tutorial ❤️
Thank you Kathleen! You should try making them, they were one of my best sellers. I did a few farmers markets and it was always fun seeing people with their dogs and one of my bags! We also made aprons out of the front of the jeans and put a cute ruffle around it, those were a good seller too! The legs of the jeans we made into gift bags...those weren't that great of sellers but mine weren't embellished, they were pretty plain. Let me know how you do it you make them. I'm sorry to hear of your friends pup, it's always so sad to lose one they are such a big part of our lives. Tell her to check out SmallPawsRescue.org they are the largest Bichon rescue in the country. On their website they have a link to all the Bichons in the rescue that are available for adoption, they are being fostered all over the country and maybe one is close to where you live. Take care, Cheryl
