When I was a child, we used to make these flowers out of toilet paper squares for weddings to decorate the cars. Very good idea to use plastic bags; these would be great for party favors or gifts to use instead of a bow.
If you can't find pretty colored plastic sacks, use the party plastic tablecloths they have all colors and are inexpensive. You can also use them to cut into strips for crocheting ! 💗 Lynn

Sometimes I’ll get blue ones there, too. Green ones often at grocery stores, though those are often “biodegradable” which probably wouldn’t work for this task. Here in California (USA) the thin ones are banned again, so we don’t see them often. But I still see them when I am in Tennessee where my parents live. Most often we get tan ones there from the Kroger. Not so great for flowers, but still good for plarn, or making into wallets, or plastic sheets to go under sleeping bags for the homeless. It’s best to not buy them new, if you can avoid it, of course.
I keep finding these videos of people heating up and or flat out melting plastic trash to make all kinds of stuff .I have to ask if i am the only one who still remembers and knows melting plastic release's unhealthy fumes in to he air that you are now breathing , its as bad for you as smoking crack in all honesty .
@@DawnZimmermann i know you cant rely see the vape full of chemicals wafting out of the plastic because it's invisible ,but a standard Iron on low heat is more then enuff to release them ,As much fun as shrink a dink art is , its a unhealthy hobby that can make you vary sick over time .
Yeah, I think your concern is legitimate; things manufactured in China can contain hazards above and beyond the norm ( I know my local store uses Chinese bags) 🙄I bring my own.
I painted coffee filters and made poinsettias using very small floral wire. They turned out beautiful. ( took some time to make though, flowers and leaves )

Hello, the pink colored plastic bag is usually from a roll of smaller garbage can liners, and some come scented as well...😊

I think the risk is minimal. There was no smoke or even steam. And it was covered in a heavy paper. Relax.
