How are the prices at that electronics store? I was going to try and buy all my equipment stateside before I leave.
I don't remember the exact prices but not that bad. A little more than the use but maybe like 10% if I recall correctly. Still a good option especially in case of an emergency like lost, stolen or broken equipment

Yes. I'm really loving it so far. I've had some adjustments, mostly with my immune system, but all in all it's been a pretty seamless transition

Eating balut is not a big deal at all. Balut has a normal taste or, shall I say, pleasant chicken egg taste and no unpleasant smell. It's just a 'mind over matter' thing why many people avoid eating it, perhaps due mainly to the image of eating a dead chick. They forget the fact that dead chick is still an embryo and doesn't have developed internal organs yet.
I definitely miss going to the mall...I think online shopping killed the malls in the US. I just found your channel and subscribed I'll be in the Philippines next year... I'm thinking I want to retire in Cebu City. Take care Chris be safe God bless 🙏🏻

Chris, I just found your channel and subscribed. Good stuff! I work for the school district and have the summers off June to mid August. What's the day to day weather like then? I hear it's the wet season, but do you have frequent all day downpours. Monsoons, etc? Will be in Deny next summer.

As far as the weather I’m still learning. I've been here since December. I can tell you coming from Colorado is hasn't been a factor. I'm also noticing that the weather can vary depending on location and even 50 miles can make a difference. Example... I have a friend who live in Balamban which is 30 miles away on the other side of the island and to me is feels hotter there. Here in Cebu City it hasn't been that bad really. It's warm but i think it's hotter in Texas. There is a wetter season that I haven't experienced yet which runs the 'ber months (October...). When I got here in December it was wetter than now but not an issue really. It would rain for 15-30 min and then done. It was also cooler then so it really wasn't that bad.
This will be my first June - August here so I’m not sure. I think it's just in between their summer (March, April & May) and the wet season which starts up in September.
You'll still want to watch the weather. Earlier this week we had a low-pressure system come through which ended up going North so really any time of year big storms can happen. They're slow moving though so easy to plan around.

The reason why Filipinos just leave the food on the table is that when visitors arrive and have a meal in a Filipino home, the owners and residents never let the guests put away the dishes. Thus most Filipino diners who eat at fast food restaurants expect the staff to clean up after them. The diners are willing to queue up for their orders and to receive their food but will no longer wait around or clean up after themselves after they are done eating. Why should they clean up after themselves if they've already paid the service charge included in their bill?
Yeah. It's just one of those differences.
Yeah. When there's a station for me to self buss my table, I do. I'm actually not comfortable leaving my mess on the table.
I am a Filipino but I teach my children to clean up their mess after eating. That is why you can see inside this fastfood places with handsigns in trash bins which what's it for. And on top of it is where to put back the tray. A little help and common sense won't hurt. Well, that's my opinion.
I always clean up my mess after eating in those fastfood resto.

I find the chicken to be all crust and bones in Philippines, tried it many times. I can go to a Jollibee in USA in North Dallas and the chicken is excellent with lots of meat and large pieces, and it's is outstanding.

@@CarefreeChris Yep, they are few and far. We just got one a few years ago. Mostly around places with concentration of people from Philippines like Chicago, Daly City, Las Vegas, etc.

Love that spicy chicken from JolliBee, and the mango pies are good too. Not really a McDonalds person, they go as cheap as they can on the beef. Their coffee and breakfast is pretty good, at least here in the states. Stopped at the Dunkin Donuts kiosk one time and asked if they could make a pot of coffee (it was 5 in the afternoon) and they looked at me strange and they said no one hardly ever drinks their coffee mostly peeps wanted their donuts (shakes head) weird I know, that was 10 years ago, so maybe coffee has gotten more popular now. Dunkin D has really good coffee in the US. Thanks for sharing your trip thru the mall and at JolliBee....Jim

Yes. I'm a fan of rice. Think i ate rice maybe once a month before moving here and not don't go a day without it. lol.

There is nothing better than a Healthy Home Cooked Meal.
Healthy food choices make for longer life. Spices and herbs are my medications in my food.
I eat one meal a day. I eat just enough food to never be full. And I always go to bed on an empty stomach. Which is the opposite of how we are taught.
Yeah. You can eat healthy here for sure. Fresh foods at markets are the way to go
