Awww…this was too short =D But you made the most of your time (ie limited days) and that makes us happy, too.
if you loved Jolibee for its food and price, be sure to pencil-in a trip to Mang Inasal in the Metro (bring your Filipino friend, too, should he be available by then).
Needless to say, you've only scratched the surface of Filipino cuisine.
Also, if BGC "confused" you because of the many American and European shops, make sure you and the Family (on the Run) check out historic Intramuros in the capital city of Manila. Would be interested to see what you guys think of the experience there. Not as easily walkable as the planned BGC area but adjacent to the Manila City Hall across Intramuros is the Mehan Garden established by the Spaniards. To complete the triangulation of interesting places in the City of Manila is the world's oldest Chinatown in Binondo across the Pasig River.
Hope you and the family can accommodate a trip back to the Philippines (but avoid coming here during the western summer months because it would be the wet season here).
Would love to visit the historic city of Prague someday, too. Hope your flight back was comfortable. Cheers, and a belated welcome to the Philippines ü

If you take your family with you when you come back, going outside of Manila is the best way to go! We have stunning provincial landscapes and jaw-dropping beaches. And as an added bonus, it is so much cheaper and the people outside of Manila are so much more friendlier! Just don’t expect modern high-end establishments like Makati and BGC but modest and humble surroundings that makes the Philippine countryside so beautiful.

I like that term. Jaw-dropping beaches. That is very true. More so the non-touristy ones. There are dozens more around the country, many of which remain nearly uncharted and untraveled.
BGC is formerly Fort McKinley which was US Military Base, named after President William McKinley the 25th President of the United States and the 3rd US President that was assassinated. Thank you for showcasing our country. watching you from Arizona.
It’s more known as “Fort Bonifacio” though hence the nickname BGC, in fact Fort Bonifacio is still a functioning military base, serving as one of the Philippine Army’s headquarters, down south the commercialized area of Fort Bonifacio.

If you're looking for something local, you have to go to the department stores of the mall or ask the concierge or the guards where ou could find the "Filipiniana section" or you could simply check the grocery.
If you want hardcore local items, you should go to famous markets like Quiapo😉

I’m from Manila and very eager to be back there and visit my family and see all the new places which I’ve seen in several TH-cam channels. There are lots of other places that will surprise you even more. I’ll be watching out for you and family in the Philippines. FYI in BGC there are 7 malls. The biggest IKEA is in Manila next to the Mall of Asia.

If you want to see a mall that has more of the local products, go to malls like SM (Megamall, Mall of Asia,etc), Robinson's, Ayala. They still have western stores there, though - Zara, Mark's and Spencer, etc. Plus other Asian stores and Restos - Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese.
*Come to think of it, Manila (or Metro Manila - w/c is composed of many cities like Manila, Makati, Quezon City, Taguig where BGC is, Alabang...) is 'pan-global'.* There are popular restos in the city that serve cuisine from continents/regions other than Asia, North America and Europe such as South America, Africa, Mediterranean.

BGC(Bonifacio Global City) was called initially nicknamed "The Fort" , before that it's named Fort Bonifacio, then before that was Fort Mackinley when US acquired the land. It was formerly part of the Philippine Army Headquarters, so it totally makes sense that there's American cemetery in that area.
It still is, since its adjacent to Philippine Army HQ. It’s normal seeing army trucks and tanks driving along Lawton Avenue in BGC.
BGC is a smart city and it was newly constructed city in the 90s. Majority of the shops are from western brand. If you really want to experience the heart of Manila you can visit again and roam around the Manila city hall area and surroundings from Quiapo to Binondo. Lots of local shops to buy souvenirs!

I’m glad you’re enjoying your stay so far. I was actually there for several days back in late January to early Feb before I headed back home to the US. We have a house 30mins away from that place. Me and my fiancé who I visited decided to just stay there to be completely alone and be ourselves. Living here in Los Angeles gives me that vibe after visiting BGC. Take care enjoy

For me as a local resident of the Philippines BGC is wonderful I get a good chance to explore a glimpse of different culture, but of course I know you're a visitor you want to explore locals ok you should go Binondo , Quiapo, Divisoria, also the oldest China town for you to enjoy, when it comes to prices you as a foreigner things would be inexpensive if you're using a Dollar to peso rate value you'll get a long way not unless you're earning a Peso and spend in pesos, so enjoy and cherish all the experience comeback soon god bless

IT'S BEST MOSTLY FOR TOURIST AND FOREIGN WHO ARE ALREADY LIVING HERE.
Actually we already have TARGET 🎯 in Las Piñas City many years ago I don't if it's still there, I also saw one in Araneta Center before (not sure of the place I forget already 😂) and there is one in Sta. Rosa Laguna.
